armatage Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 This is a tough one, but I have to say Red Tide. It gives me chills.
Bam-Itz-GreenDay Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Mother Mary but Pedestrian is really good also, its the song that got me into FBHT
Forever Now Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 I have the sudden urge to listen to Foxies all day now.
Gwen Stacy Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 I had to go Pedestrian, it's just one of the few good mood songs that really get me smiling, but it was really hard to pick! Stop Drop and Roll, Mother Mary, 27th Avenue Shuffle, Pieces of Truth, and Highway 1 are all just FANTASTIC. Love me some good ol' Foxies I hope to see them live someday
Annie, get your gun Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 MOTHER MARY!!! I love this song I never get enough of it
alaniluau Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 This is the type of album where it feels negligent not to vote for every single track. But I think Pedestrian's lyrics are especially strong, so it got my vote.
BJA TC MD Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 It was either Mother Mary, Stop Drop And Roll!!!, or The Pedestrian, but... Oh Mother Mary take my hand. I love that song. But it was close
MidnightMuffin Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Sally /Off-topic I work in a grocery store with a constant rotation of commercials and songs over the intercom and out-of-fucking-nowhere Mother Mary started playing. 'Twas badass.
justcause Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Really tough to choose here, because this whole album's fucking magical. I went with Mother Mary - it just brings me back to the songs being posted on MySpace, how fucking wild and different they sounded, and that time when Foxboro was this insanely cool little secret between the band and the fans. Songs just turning up randomly, constantly checking on Myspace - which took forever to load on my old pc - and the big sense that this was a gift to us. Good times - fucking great times.
ltrbmb17 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 As for me Mother Mary, Pieces of Truth, Pedestrian and Sally are the best. I should be honest with myself. Yes... "si tu n'etais pas mon mari, je serais fou de toi, mon cheri". Mother Mary
zzolie the Redundant Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I went with She's a Saint not a Celebrity, but it's one of the best albums! The solos of Pieces of Truth, SDR and The Pedestrian.... Ahhhhhhhhh.... Awesome Love and Money is a great song, it's one of the better ones from Money Money 2020 I think. How many polls are left?
Red Lights Flash Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Ugh, I love so many of these songs equally. But I went for Pieces of Truth. But Mother Mary? That's one of my least favorite on the album
Anja Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Reading all the song titles and everyone's post makes me want to listen to the Foxies right now!! So guess what I'm gonna do now!? Tough choice btw. I went with the pedestrian.
frunsi Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 i like stop drop and roll a whole bunch, but i'm not so into their FBHT stuff... edit: i mean the song
ComaWhite Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Difficult. Voted for Highway 1....Broadway is one of my favorites too <3
Karol Oliveira Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Stop Drop and Roll, Mother Mary, Broadway, Pedestrian, 27th Ave. Shuffle, Pieces of Truth... so difficult to choose!
Ingrid Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I had an easy time voting last week because Roshambo is the only Network song I really like, but as much as I love, love, love every FBHT song I didn't have to think twice about it this week either, because Mother Mary is just THE Foxboro Hot Tubs song to me. So many memories attached to it - from listening to the first three songs of the album over and over again on repeat after they were released on MySpace, to the Reverend holding my hand singing the chorus of this song when I saw them live in London november 2009. But in addition to that, it's just a wonderfully sweet, fun sounding song that would probably make my list of top five favorites ever; because it's just the HAPPIEST song I know of, never failing to make me smile and reminding me of some of the best times of my life. Love you Mother Mary Honorable mentions: Stop Drop and Roll, Pieces of Truth, Dark Side of Night, Red Tide, Highway 1, ++
Elena Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 kay it seems like Mother Mary's winning this...i actually don't like that song that much, imo there are WAY better songs on the album (e.g. Sally, Pedestrian, Red Tide)...somehow the 2 most popular songs (Stop Drop And Roll and Mother Mary) are the ones i like fewest of all...i dunno why... ..so i'm the Minority btw i voted for Sally
Bastard of 1967 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Mother Mary by a mile. Fantastic 60's-era jam with poppy, fun lyrics on the surface but SO deep meaningwise. I won't go into detail here since we did a great SOTW discussion about it last year, but the gist of it is that Mother Mary is a happy, up-beat number designed to get all the good Christian boys and girls out of their seats, dancing vigorously to a song that describes explicitly how their religion is selling them out. Honorable mention goes to It's Fuck Time (not on the ballot).
Just a grouch Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Wow, Mother Mary is running away with this. It's a good song...heck, they're all good...but Broadway is my favorite.
