Hermione Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Love the fact that this poll is causing people to listen to Green Day songs they haven't come across before. Excellent
dumb shiny bitch Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 They covered Elvis?! Mai god. Did NAWT know that. *goes and listens right away* Wait. Why isn't this included? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vniciBV6D5E
colour_me_stupid_ Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 That took me about a second, Favourite Son by far
dumb shiny bitch Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 As I recall, it wasn't a studio recording, just a TV performance. Oh okay, thanks for clearing that up for me.
The Snark Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Like a Rolling Stone is easily the best cover that any band has ever done. Too Much Too Soon comes in a veeerrrry close second, though. I've never even heard of That's All Right...
pasalaska Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Too Much Too Soon because the musical made it epic and now it's impossible to sing it without doing ridiculous dance moves and singing it back and fowards between multiple people is just awesome. That is my reason.
GuitarPunk94 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 actually dont know every song but C&V is the best of all i know so far
Anja Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 This was toughter than all the other voting together!
ltrbmb17 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 yeah. honestly i thought this vote would be divided into to parts: Green Day songs as b-sides and covers.
Liam Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 yeah. honestly i thought this vote would be divided into to parts: Green Day songs as b-sides and covers. Well that would make the next round of votings a lot harder because now we're doing the winner from one album up against the winner from another. So if we included another song there, it would make voting a lot more confusing because we already have even number of winning songs
ltrbmb17 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 So if we included another song there, it would make voting a lot more confusing because we already have even number of winning songs thanks, Liam. now i understand how it works Well that would make the next round of votings a lot harder because now we're doing the winner from one album up against the winner from another. i'm scared!!!!!
Just a grouch Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 This was tougher than I expected. I went with Too Much, Too Soon because it sticks in my head. Hard to pass up When It's Time and Cigarettes and Valentines....and Working Class, Quick One, and Rolling Stone are GREAT covers. I suppose I can change if I have a mood swing.
Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 It's a tough one but it doesn't seem right to pick a cover, so for me it's between Lights Out and Favourite Son. Went for Lights Out because that should have been on 21st Century Breakdown whereas American Idiot doesn't exactly suffer for not having Favourite Son on it.
armatage Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 No question! The Ballad of Wilhelm Fink all the way!
Disapperingirl Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Wow, this is definitely harder than I thought! When It's Time is fighting against covers, A Quick One While He's Away and Like A Rolling Stones. Billie's voice is amazing in all of these three songs, and the covers are so different and in some parts even better than the originals to me...oh fuck, there's also Too Much Too Soon! That's too much for me
Harry Potter. Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I voted for The Saints Are Coming (with U2)
Marki. Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 How can you expect me to choose here ...went with Governator just because Mike is the fucking man. ...and because the lyrics. <3 Everytime I listen to this song it gets stuck in my head for days.
Bam-Itz-GreenDay Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 They all are soooo good but i think i have to go with Favorite Son
desertrose Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 All are good, but had to go with Too Much Too Soon.
Cym Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 I'm not gonna lie, I'm a shameless feeder off of the pandering and pride that putting the Phoenix version of Cigarettes and Valentines on the AAF album created.
Ashley! Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 I voted for when it's time. It's me and my fiance's "song", so I felt obligated to vote for it.
whitechristmas Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Doesn't anyone love Hearts Collide? I though it would have a lot more votes. I don't really like Cigarettes and Valentines that much. I was surprised to see that so many people voted for It.
