I mean if you really think about it. Song of the Century is quite extraordinary. It is deep and has a good meaning. Also its epic to hear at the beginning of a Green Day show. When you hear "Sing us the song of the century." Everyone starts singing along and impatiently awaiting the band to come on and transition into 21st Century Breakdown.

Totally agree with you. Extraordinary describes it pretty well, I'd say. In my opinion, it's a really gorgeous song!

Little Girl is the most unique song Green Day has made since the Warning era. Hands down the best song on the album. EJN at #1 is ridiculous.

American Eulogy <3 Mike's part is AWESOME! Anyways this song sure will win it's epic!

EDIT: With all that discussion, if Song of the Certury wins I'l gonna lol more than ever!

Voted for Murder City cause I think it's the best song and I love the live video they released. The beeping in the intro of the studio version is a bit annoying and Billies voice sounds weird in parts of the studio version too.

But as a song I think it's simply brilliant.

Wow, so far no one voted last night on earth!

I find it kind of strange, it's such a beautiful song :3

That is another great adjective to describe it. It is gorgeous as well as beautiful.

voted East Jesus Nowhere

Damn you I thought you were serious for a second :P. Christian's Inferno would be my third choice after East Jesus Nowhere and Before The Lobotomy, it's fabulous! How can a song that contains this be bad?!

Thanks for bumping up my video like 50 kabillion views :P

And H&H all the way. Forever. Followed by Peacemaker and Eugogoly.

21st Century Breakdown is the first song we got off 21st Century Breakdown (album) (well, the demo), and it's the song that they played when I first saw them live and everything, so it has a really deep GD-meaning for me.

East Jesus Nowhere was the first thing that made me thing "what if there's nothing wrong about not going to mass or not believing in God?" And I went through quite a big change from then on.

¡Viva la Gloria! doesn't have that special meaning for me, but I think that it's the best song off 21stCB objectively, plus I've been getting up with it for the last two years and still didn't get bored of it or anything, I just love that song.

So... hard decision, but I think I'm going with ¡Viva la Gloria! :)

Oh Lorenzo.. why are you always so negative? I actually like Song of the Century and it still is a Green Day song..

I'm just being realistic :tired:

There, forget it: it's got a vote

did everyone vote for static age because of static noise? i pick American Eulogy

Posted

I'm going with East Jesus Nowhere. it's such a fun song to listen and sing along to.

I voted for ¿Viva La Gloria? (Little Girl). Pretty easy choice for me.

I decided to vote for American Eulogy since it's kind of my personal favourite, didn't expect it to have so many votes at all :o

Way to go though

Oh bloody hell I thought East Jesus Nowhere had a chance of winning :(

This is indeed harder than American Idiot... I was between KYE or Peacemaker. Went for Know Your fucking Enemy

This choice was a lot more difficult last year. Now I've realized that sadly, most of the songs on this album aren't as timeless as I thought they'd be.

I chose 21st Century Breakdown because it's the only song I've constantly liked. :)

I'm not surprised at all! You should listen to Song of the Century once again and overthink your opinion. Maybe it'll change - maybe not! ;)

lotag and peacemaker only have 2 votes? and lnoe only has 1?? dafuq?

i voted for lotag  it was a close call between it and little girl though.

a good spread of votes so far... so hard to choose my favourite with this album as my favourite song tends to change all the time (unlike the other albums). firstly i fell in love with Viva La Gloria, then EJN, then Peacemaker, then Static Age and up until very recently Restless Heart Syndrome.

In the end i voted Last Night on Earth over RHS... ...but may change it back

This was so fricken hard it's unbelievable, I was so torn!!! :runaround: But in the end, I went for Before The Lobotomy, it's a phenomenal song

That's the only part I like :P

This is actually harder than I thought it would be. For me, it's in between Last Night on Earth and The Static Age.

This is the first album I didn't really think about. I went for Viva La Gloria. East Jesus Nowhere would be a close second though.

i'm pretty surprised that american eulogy has so many votes...

it's definitely a favourite off that album, but for me it all eventually ended up in an epic final battle between murder city and east jesus nowhere.

i like EJN better right now, but the first time i listened to my first green day record (21stCBD), i fell in love with murder city. it's the song that got me into green day, that got me into punk rock. and it's still one of my favourites. so i'll take murder city. :D
