I just can't with MTV even putting them in the running to begin with. If this were MTV.co.uk or another European site, OK. But Tokio Hotel are virtually unknown here. There's no way they would legit win if it wasn't for their fan base overseas. They're just not popular here, plain and simple. It's not an accurate representation of how MTV.com visitors would vote, idk.

I love it! Also, to everyone on here, it was a blast voting with all of you. Kinda sad to see this thread end, after all this is the thread that inspired me to join. I at first was just a guest on here, reading everyone's comments to inspire me to keep voting. And then I saw how incredibly awesome everyone is on here, and how nice, I new I had to join. I know we lost, but I can't but feel that Green Day would still be proud of how far we did come in the poll, especially if they ever happen to read this thread (especially the pages about the final) on how dedicated we were of voting and keeping everyone inspired to vote. Being on here has made me even more proud to be a Green Day fan.

I'm still baffled about this whole thing. I've never even heard of Tokio Hotel until the MTV March Music Madness and, by viewing their Facebook fan page and such, it appears that they have a tiny, tiny, tiny fanbase.... :'(

Only conclusion I can reach is that they won through cheating. I mean, I don't think any of my friends have even heard of them. :/

I was wondering about that trophy situation! MTV said that it wouldn't be hard for someone to take the trophy from Green Day because they never picked it up. But they said that they would pay to mail it to Tokio Hotel. Why didn't they mail Green Day their trophy? I got the impression this year and last year that they don't care for Green Day much.

I'm guessing it's because TH lives in Germany and coming to the US for a trophy that's probably just a a chunk of plastic seems like a waste.
