It was just a sound check that was left on Nimrod as a track. Perhaps there's an old time-y song on the album They could make a new Last Ride In style music video with this

Elena Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 haha that video is awesome ...but I think even in that video they have some hidden hints...the music could mean that they are going back to their roots bit (cos it sounds "ancient"...i was searching for another word, but it doesn't come to my mind ) ...the randomness of the vid could probably mean that they're having lots of fun recording it and maybe also the record isn't too serious and lots of fun (like Carpe Diem, Let Yourself Go, maybe It's Fuck Time) and as someone else pointed out the whole vid could also be an anti phone camera rant...

This time he actually asked to see it again! I might be wearing him down or maybe there's just so much going on in the video that you really do have to view more than once (twice, thrice, etc) to see it all!

Alan86 Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Since I first saw this video it's been bugging me cause I knew I heard that song before, today I was given the answer thanks to "the Simpsons" For anyone else interested it's just a tiny loop from the song "Powerhouse" by Raymond Scott. Here is a performance of the full song, the bit Green Day used starts at about 1:40 but I suggest watching the full video just to see the crazy conductor
