Trotsky Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 No it's really really not. But it's like the only Green Day song that would be a perfect drinking song in a bar. I would play it on a hurdy gurdy and everything (yes I know it's with an organ, but I would try)
Undómiel Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 But it's like the only Green Day song that would be a perfect drinking song in a bar. I would play it on a hurdy gurdy and everything (yes I know it's with an organ, but I would try) A hurdy gurdy... WAT. Yes, I concur, it would be an excellent drinking song... Still not the best song off Warning though.
Trotsky Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 A hurdy gurdy... WAT. Yes, I concur, it would be an excellent drinking song... Still not the best song off Warning though. One day I'm going to learn to play a hurdy gurdy and I will cover Misery on it and it will sound awesome. YOU WILL SEE. Only other song I'd like to see win is Macy's Day Parade. Which won't happen. But... maybe my favorite song off American Idiot can win since JOS is out of the running.

(I thought the instrument was a honky-tonk if you're talking about a piano-like instrument???? Confused) Macy's Day Parade = much better choice. What? What? Why is JOS out of the running? *lip wobbles*
Trotsky Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 What? What? Why is JOS out of the running? *lip wobbles* Cause it's the winner of the first contest and still officially the best song ever, lol.
Undómiel Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Cause it's the winner of the first contest and still officially the best song ever, lol. Oh good. You had me worried there.
Hermione Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Interesting! I was expecting a Minority landslide. Hope it beats Waiting in the end (since Blood Sex And Booze won't).
whatserbmae Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Voted Church On Sunday a couple of hours ago, but just changed it to Hold On. Sticking with that
Brigister Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Waiting is going pretty fucking good! Minority, back the fuck off :angry not that I don't like it, but I really want Waiting to win.
Guest Charlotte. Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I don't consider Warning as one of my favourite GD albums, but I actually found this week's vote the most difficult yet. It's one of those albums that's consistently good, so picking a stand-out track from it was quite tough. I went with Minority in the end though, mainly because it's so great live.
DannyDirnt Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I vote for Warning.I think it¡s pretty underrated.Tbh I was about to vote for Minority, but I decided I preferred Warning,I hope they perform it again soon!
Overjoyed Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 That was really hard, had to choose between Blood, Sex and Booze and Macy's Day Parade. Went with Macy's Day Parade in the end because of the lyrics.
Sarcasm Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I just remembered that part in the Minority video where you see the scene from above, and Mike throws the peace sign, and the index breaks of so it flips the camera off xD That's legendary...
Mary711 Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 That was hard! The most difficult decision for me so far.
LChamp Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I had a really difficult voting. I finally picked "Hold On" but really it's a five way tie!
Annie, get your gun Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Waiting, I'm sorry, but you're making me mad right now! I love you anyway <3
San Miguel Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 not surprised Minority and Waiting are doing as well as they are, but can i just say: CASTAWAY! GOING AT IT ALONE CASTAWAY! NOW I'M ON MY OWN it's such a good song! (surprised not more votes for Warning) CASTAWAY FOR PRESIDENT!
The Grohl Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Blood Sex and Booze all the way!! I love this song!
melissawebster Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 This was really hard for me. There are only two songs on this album I don't completely love and it is my third favorite Green Day album. I was debating between "Blood, Sex & Booze" "Castaway" "Misery" "Minority" "Waiting" "Hold On" and "Macy's Day Parade." In the end I chose "Castaway", not only because I relate so thoroughly to the lyrics, but also because it pumps me up and makes me want to dance and sing at the top of my lungs every time I hear it. For the life of me I cannot figure out why it wasn't a single.
Nmd Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 very hard to choose, I love BS&B, almost voted for Waiting.... but in the end, Hold On
Gwen Stacy Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 I freaking love Warning but choosing just one song... ugh. I went with Minority and here's why. The song is so simple in its message and delivery and yet so deliciously effective in what its trying to get across. It is a battle cry for thinking differently, for not being just another sheep in the flock and for expressing what you believe in. Its about not being afraid to "fuck 'em all" when you really need to (looking at you Moral Majority). And if your opinions and who you are makes you among the minority, even the better; don't be afraid, celebrate it. The live performance of Minority in Bullet in a Bible also strikes me for the brutal honesty Billie Joe hands the crowd when he says that "You have the power, we're the fucking leaders, don't let these bastards dictate your life or try to tell you what to do". This is a shot that resonates through any political system reminding the leaders that they answer to the people, a message that I believe is timeless and could be spoken word for word about the Arab Spring. Yet, I still personally find the message of being yourself most powerful. To me, this is what Green Say is all about, so it really strikes home.
Mar Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 These results are surprising to me, tbh - the spread is amazing. Plus, I always got the impression that people were kind of "over" Minority (since it's performed at every show). But Waiting is also flawless so if my darling MDP can't win, I'll take Waiting!
GeekStinkMe Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Minority, best song ever. that wasn't really hard, although deadbeat Holiday is a fabulous song too. So, my vote went on minority, my absolutely favourite song.
Comic Sans Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 If you will understand what song is this, you'll understand my vote.
