lizziebix Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I've made up my mind - I do not care what it's called or what the cover will look like. I just want the album in my hands NOW!
BetterThanAir Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 ^Agreed, I do want it now as well. Though...as long as it's not called 'It's Fuck Time', I'll be more than happy. 'Nuclear Family' sounds alright, really anything would. And the album artwork is always really nice in my opinion, so I'm not worried about that. Anything by Green Day is amazing, so my expectations are high.
greendaytodeathandback Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 yeah, I was thinking about that today and as Billie said "to reminisce is to die" so I don't think that name will fit in the new style. Good point actually, yeah, so I doubt they will call it C&V... Phew, was kinda put off if they were gonna, I mean it would still be Green Day, which is amazing, but there would be more hype over that 'stolen' album than there would over the album itself, which would be wrong. And the album artwork is always really nice in my opinion, so I'm not worried about that. I'd say that them naming the album after a song/single that will be on the album is likely after the trend they've been sticking with over the last few years., so this seems pretty plausible. Still, I like it when they have really 'out there' names, y'know?
Harry Potter. Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Anything by Green Day is amazing, so my expectations are high. Same here. I'd say that them naming the album after a song/single that will be on the album is likely after the trend they've been sticking with over the last few years., so this seems pretty plausible. Yeah, that's exactly what was going around my mind for the last few days.
DannyDirnt Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Really,"Nuclear Family" is a pretty nonsensical name. What does it mean,a family of nuclear bombs? I'd bet all my money this won't be called C&V
SynthwaveTrooper Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 i woant the name to be "Nuclear Apocalypse"

I'd bet all my money this won't be called C&V No, it's not. Nuclear family is what a typical small family is called. Have a look at the translation if you'd like a better description. Nothing about bombs though.
Sixtrix Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Really,"Nuclear Family" is a pretty nonsensical name. What does it mean,a family of nuclear bombs? I'd bet all my money this won't be called C&V Nuclear Family is a term used to define a pair of adults and their children. It can be any amount of children I think, but as long as it involves a pair of adults and not a single parent. Now I am not sure of a pair of homosexual adults with children is considered nuclear family? No, it's not. Nuclear family is what a typical small family is called. Have a look at the translation if you'd like a better description. Nothing about bombs though. oh small family. I thought I read somewhere that it could be any amount of kids. So when isn't it actually considered to be a nuclear family, apart from divorced parents?

I think what is important is that it only talks about parents and their children and not about all the other relatives. At least that's what I thought.

But most examples I've just seen shows a "perfect" family setting of 2 parents, 1 son and 1 daughter. So you could be right about the small family as well

DannyDirnt Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 K,now I understand.Thank you,but now I don't even know if that name's cool lol I liked it more thinking about bombs and war and all that, but anyways would be cool if they played with the two nuclear meanings... I think you are right. But most examples I've just seen shows a "perfect" family setting of 2 parents, 1 son and 1 daughter. So you could be right about the small family as well haha then my family's perfect because I have a mother and a father, they are married and I got a sister
Harry Potter. Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 It sounds like everyone is already sure that the new album's gonna be called Nuclear Family...
Mary711 Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 It sounds like everyone is already SURE that the new album's gonna be called Nuclear Family... Nah, that's all based on speculation.
Ingrid Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 It sounds like everyone is already SURE that the new album's gonna be called Nuclear Family... Nobody's sure about anything, but with the trend GD has been following since Warning, naming their albums after the first song on the record, it kinda seems like a logical conclusion (based on the fact that Nuclear Family has been the first track on both secret show setlists and tracklists we've seen from the studio). But as several people already have said, it doesn't really seem to fit the theme of the new album, it sounds more like another record in the style of AI and 21stCB (which I personally wouldn't mind, but whatever...), so as of right now, I hope it won't end up being the title. I really like it in and of itself, but I just don't think it'll be right for the direction they seem to be taking on this album. What I think of the new direction is another thing entirely..! But Nuclear Family over Carpe Diem aaaaany day of the week!!
Heather. Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 K,now I understand.Thank you,but now I don't even know if that name's cool lol I liked it more thinking about bombs and war and all that, but anyways would be cool if they played with the two nuclear meanings... The second I heard there was a song called Nuclear Family (and I haven't come across any lyrics for it), I immediately assumed it was going to be a double entendre and speak ironically about families in the nuclear age. Especially after the last two albums. Maybe that's not the case, but that would be my guess. And in that case, it would seem like the song is thematically very different from the rest of the album, which is less political. So that's one reason I would hope/guess they wouldn't call the new album Nuclear Family. It would have fit better for the LAST album. Unless, of course, the song is actually just about how Billie is married with two kids and aren't they all perfect? But I'd slap him for writing such Barney lyrics.
DannyDirnt Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 I personally prefer Carpe Diem.Till now it's the one I like the most, although most people prefers Stray Heart...which would be a nice title too
Heather. Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Not that Billie has to be held accountable to his words, but this quote is from 2010: "We'll definitely end up doing something like a rock opera again. We're too good at it." Maybe in the future?
DannyDirnt Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 I don't really care, but maybe this ignorance if bad, because maybe I'd like it,but I don't even know what the American Idiot musical is about

We're too good at it." Maybe in the future? I wouldn't mind another rock opera honestly, American Idiot was an amazing masterpiece.
LMC Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Am I the only one who thinks that "Carpe Diem" is a bit overused generally? Frankly, I'd be quite disappointed if they chose that title.
Katarina. Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 I've made up my mind - I do not care what it's called or what the cover will look like. I just want the album in my hands NOW! My thoughts exactly! Until then.. this is what happens when I procrastinate.. Since there has to be something cover/name related to talk about.. lol Or this one I made last year, haha
Sixtrix Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I don't mind what the title will be. Even if it will be a boring title, I am sure I will be able to love the new album, and that gets me all excited
justcause Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 The second I heard there was a song called Nuclear Family (and I haven't come across any lyrics for it), I immediately assumed it was going to be a double entendre and speak ironically about families in the nuclear age. My immediate notion was about a family having explosive relationships with each other.
