Bastard of 1967 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 They've had 880 fixed up now that it's Jingletown though, right? I can't imagine them recording in Oakland and not doing it at Jingletown, seems pointless Jingletown's basically "home base" for them. In the past, they've done the bulk of their "working shit out" work there, and then once they had all the details worked through, they've taken it to Ocean Way to lay down all the tracks in final. My guess is that if they're at Jingletown, they've still got a lot of work ahead of them before the album goes in the can. As exciting as this is, I always enjoyed listening and knowing that while Jason is brilliant with the guys live, that all the guitars on the albums were Billie. Now when I hear this one, I'll wonder who's playing what, which I don't really like. Maybe Jason isn't actually going to be playing on the album, maybe it was a rehearsal or something... I dunno. But YAY for the first day! Here's to lots more updates and photos and videos and easter eggs!! I agree on the one hand...but on the other, they just simply *sound* better overall when they have Jason along with them -- and I think that's where the rubber hits the road. On the balance, I think I'd like to hear what at least some of their studio work will sound like with Jason in the mix.
