Laura! Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 My vote goes with Panic Song. I always have loved that song. It was a close decision between that, Armatage Shanks and Walking Contradiction.
spark in the night Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 why is Walking Contradiction winning?! That song isn't even that great compared to some others on that album!!
Shahd Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Maaaan!!! This is probably my favorite album! It's hard to pick one song!!!
justcause Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Seriously where have all these Stuart And The Ave fans come from?! I would've predicted that it'd get the least amount of votes out of all the songs. It's nice that it's done well because I like it and have never seen it get much recognition before, but there's loads of songs on there I would've voted for before it. I'm amazed that it's so popular. 'but now it's all FUCKED UP!!' - early on, I'm working on something and Insomniac is playing on my portable cd-thing in the hallway outside, and every time that line comes my head whips around to it, it's so fucking insistent on attention, like 'no no no, listen to ME !!' So you got this thing where there's a physical location that roots you in immediacy and at the same time, you enter a metaphor, because you're at a crossroads, and while the verses are humdrumming a mundane circumstance and seeming to downplay violent emotions, the chorus cuts in heroic with 'destiny', bringing that back again and again to overcome the current shitstorm with visions of something greater. It's classic ballad-form - everytime bringing the incidents of the journey back to re-iteration of the real point in the chorus - considered and overhauled and made exactly to Billie Joe's liking, customized. It's all at the same time a fucking old sea-shanty and a gritty punk song, and it somewhere and somehow reminds me of this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzWs3zd_BZQ
BriIsObsessed Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 i do think walking contradiction is a good song - but not my favorite. the video, however, is exceptional! i'd say thumbs up for lyrics and video, but thumbs down for musicality. i have a very dear place in my heart for stuck with me, and it is one of my favorite green day songs i know i haven't been on here in a while, but can we have more of these polls!!
ScatteredPictures Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 C'mon guys, nobody likes Brat? I actually love Brat. It's a lot of fun but just not my favourite

I already love it though , I was just under the mistaken impression that hardly anyone else did. Pleasantly surprised to see I was wrong. And also surprised that certain other songs that I thought were more popular didn't get more votes instead. I guess it comes across that that way because other songs have live performances and music videos so they get posted about more. It's interesting to just have a list like this where all the songs are "equal" so you can see which ones people really like the most, nice to see some different ones getting celebrated.
4thWarmasterKais Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Glad that I'm not the only one who said Westbound Sign
Undómiel Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Could it be said that this is the album that has divided people the most, thus far?

xxSaintNikkixx Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 So many of these are tied for my #1, but in the end I chose Brat because the first time I heard the album the first line really caught my attention.
