Sofouska Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 1.039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours there is a loooong list of love songs after a certain track, and to be honest, I just click "Next" with a kind of look till I reach I Want To Be Alone. And I don't like Jaded (sorry guys)
DecanoLP Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 How can you guys hate "Last Night On Earth"?? It's absolutely my fave song from 21stCntrybrkdwn. *shakes head* I just don't understand what you guys can hate about it! Also, I love "She's a Rebel"... I don't find it boring. All in all, I don't HATE GD stuff, more like I'll skip certain songs depending on my mood. I was expecting these replies as soon as the thread was opened respectively I posted my list. Every thread that contains favourite / least favourite song - lists has them, but everyone advances his personal view and the others should accept that without commenting on it in my opinion

I like its lyrics but the music is a bit meh for me.
Hermione Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 It's too rugby chant-like or something. Sounds like something sports fans or pirates would sing. That's not necessarily a bad thing but it grates on me a bit and makes me like it less than all the other songs on the album. Plus it always just makes me want to listen to the superior "At Your Funeral" by Pinhead Gunpowder instead I was expecting these replies as soon as the thread was opened respectively I posted my list. Every thread that contains favourite / least favourite song - lists has them, but everyone advances his personal view and the others should accept that without commenting on it in my opinion I disagree! The thread would be boring if no one commented on each other's opinions. Nothing wrong with a bit of discussion about it.

And The Frustrators would tell you there is nothing wrong with songs about Pirates. Also, I don't really listen to Insomniac that much. There - I've said it.
Elena Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 there's no song that i hate, but i don't like Rest that much and Take Back...but sometimes when i'm really angry i listen to it...idk i think it's just that i almost never have the feeling to listen to it ...i barely listen to Panic Song and Last Ride In, cos i need someone singing in a song ...in Panic Song it needs too long till Billie starts singing and the beginning makes me nervous and Last Ride In, well, no one's singing and it gets boring...it's not bad, i just can't listen to it on an album...
burnout409 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I don't dislike any songs but there are some i skip but do listen to from time to time, like Espionage, Rest and Last Ride In.
DecanoLP Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I disagree! The thread would be boring if no one commented on each other's opinions. Nothing wrong with a bit of discussion about it. Sure, discussions would be great, but I'm not a fan of replies à la "OMGZ, how can you hate XY, this is my favourite song ever" without any justification at all
Hermione Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Nimrod - Last Ride In. Why did they put this boring instrumental on this amazing album which is full of energy?! Still don't get it, probably my least favourite Green Day song. You did ask , so, I think they did it to fit with the slightly old fashioned/surfy sound that Nimrod has. The album has a retro feel. What better to compliment that than a retro-style chilled out surfy interlude in the middle? I think it's meant to be a bit tongue in cheek too, actually putting an instrumental interlude on the album is quite a funny and quirky thing to do , but then it's a quirky and at times funny album. It also fits with the album's experimental feel, they tried out a big variety of different styles on there from Take Back to King For A Day to Good Riddance to Last Ride In and all the rest. I think it works well on that album. Sure, discussions would be great, but I'm not a fan of replies à la "OMGZ, how can you hate XY, this is my favourite song ever" without any justification at all I think that's mostly meant in a lighthearted way though. It's more "yay for that song" than "fuck you for not liking that song". As long as people aren't just outright rude about it of course.
kelly42fox Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I honestly can't say that there are specific songs on each album that I don't like.... But maybe it's that my brain just shuts off for the songs I don't really listen to... My least fav GD songs are the tracks after 'Who Wrote' on Kerplunk... The repetative beat in 'Hold On' grates on my nerves if I'm in the wrong mood. This is sad because I really like the lyrics... I'm a HUGE sap, so I really LOVE the ballad songs that they write (and I really want more) like 'Last Night on Earth'... <3 <3 But I will admit, I like the song more after the musical... And I agree with Hermione. 'At Your Funeral' is better than 'Ha Ha'.
Sarcasm Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 Wow, I'm seeing old time favirites being listed time after time here! xD
Alan86 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 See the light is the only green day song i don't enjoy. I like the lyrics, the music is really boring to me though. As for the Instrumentals, I love Espionage, Last Ride In is ok I guess
SmidtsPie° Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I don't think there is some that "I can't stand" but I mostly skip Know Your Enemy, Nice Guys Finish Last and Warning..

I totally agree. I wasn't fond of LNOE until the musical. I think the musical turned me onto a lot of songs I was previously ambivalent to, especially Whastername, and Homecoming.
Malleus Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I don't dislike any song but I often find myself skipping Extraordinary Girl when I listen through American Idiot and focusing on just that song later.
Annie, get your gun Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I don't have any. Even when there's maybe a song that I don't enjoy so much like the others, I don't feel that 'I can't stand it', it's almost impossible. And I can't believe that you can't stand Extraordinary Girl, Sarcasm that's one of my favs!
.katie. Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I always skip Take Back. I don't know why, I just can't listen to it.
pretty_and_demented Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 The only song I usually skip out of all their albums are Know Your Enemy... There isn't really anything wrong with it, it a goood song, it just gets tiring... I love all the songs though. Even the ones that have no words. Last Ride In is actually one of my favorites.

I was drunk actually, I can't believe this wasn't deleted for hating I'm not retracting anything, I still skip Extraordinary girl if I run into it when I'm shuffeling. But never when I'm listening to the complete album. That would be wrong.
adie21 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I definitely don't hate any of their songs but I do skip some once in a while, not often though. Here's the ones I skip the most when i do skip. 39/Smooth - Rest Kerplunk - Android Dookie - Coming Clean Insomniac - Panic Song Nimrod - Never skipped a song on that ever. Warning - Never skipped one. Shenanigans - Espionage (Love it, but I'm into the lyrics more than instrumentals) American Idiot - Wake Me Up When September Ends (It's also my favorite song on the album, but I tend to skip it because it brings back memories for me) 21st Century Breakdown - My favorite album. Never skipped.

beejeezee Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 There really is no Green Day song I dislike . . . . Not sure why 21st Century Breakdown - It stands between See the Light and Static Age. Both are the same all the way, and static age seems like it lasts forever! See the light isn't catchy. That's it. I never liked it much. Excuse me but what? The Static Age is brilliant and I love how it's put together.
Hedwig Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I can't believe the amount of people saying Panic Song. It's such an amazing pice of work, the frustration in the beginning and going crazy in the end. And the way it starts off all silent and slow and grows trough the half song There really is no Green Day song I dislike . . . . Not sure why You sound so disappointed about that
Sweet Armataged Chump Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Really? you don'tlike JOS? I think it's one of the most amazing songs I ever heard No. My least favorite GD song
