Green Day has given the world some amazing music that all us GDCers at some point have definitely related to. Green Day has helped me become the person who I am today, I don't know what I would have done without them

Green Day have given me, all you guys too i bet, the confidence to be me, and realize who I really was. After listening to them, I've realized it doesn't matter whether you're exactly like everyone else, you should just be yourself. They taught me that it's better to be yourself, than to change every aspect of yourself, just to fit in with the crowd. Being who you are is better that following the crowd

Without Green Day, there would be no GDC and I have met so many amazing people on here, who I've had great times with over our common love of this band. They have made friendships between people.

Because of Green Day, there are heaps of awesome people, the Green Day fans. Speaking with another Green Day fan always brightens my day. Green Day fans are such nice people!!

Without Green Day, the world would be a different place.

well for starters, they helped me embrace my inner weirdness

but in their songs they don't lie and make crap up, it's songs that they wrote about real events or memories and that we all can relate to at some point. (on a bit of a side story...i was in the car with my dad and his friend (who's from LA) and we were discussing music, and he said that the one thing he likes about GD is that they're real. they don'y pretend to be people they're not, they stay true to themselves.)

plus, without them non of us would be sitting here now discussing this, and would probably be listening to shitty music...

All the rep on the first page. :shok:

I agree with most of these responses. The best thing Green Day have given us - aside from the music - is the community of fans that were brought together. Green Day fans are like no one else in the world, honestly. I mean, each of us are so different from one another. But at the same time we're so similar. It's indescribable. And I'm proud to be a part of it.

As they've said themselves, no one could have ever thought that "three snot-nosed brats" could've ever made it this far. Just because of that, they've shown people not to judge others by what's on the outside. Green Day has shown people firsthand that you can do whatever you love and if you put your mind to it, you can be successful doing it! There hasn't ever been any other bands in my life that I've loved and have learned from this much. I've never gone out to specifically pick up trash and plant trees for anyone else. I've never felt so much emotion for complete strangers at any other show. I've never been one to strike up conversations with random people. All of this and more is owed to Green Day. And then there's all the awesome fans...I really wish it were possible to have one giant meet-up so we could have a big group hug. :)

Plus, what other band has ever helped the world see that musicals can kick ass?!

Some of these personal stories are so touching and inspiring. It just goes to show what three (or four, because Jason's cool too) fucking talented musicians can do just through amazing music and lyrics, and being great people/role models too. If every band was like Green Day there'd be a lot more happiness and less hate around.

I forgot to add that I picked up the drums and got into art, travel and songwriting because of Green Day. The great thing is like I said before, I'm just one in thousands who've done the same.

True. They have fans. And that means they make someone happy.

They Are so meaning full for so many people, and everybody who means something for someone and makes Them happy makes the world a better place.

They've made my world a better place.

And because they make so many people's world a better place, the world is indeed a better place because of them.

do I make any sense?

You make total and complete sense! :)

I'm still reading through this thread (just over half way there ;)) and i'm blown away by it. By the tone of it, the positivity, the openness, the honesty, and so on and so on. Green Day fans embody the band, and right here in the most special way. I have this amazing feeling inside me at the moment that we're all at the beginning of something incredibly special, and i'm just looking forward to seeing it all play out.

I don't want to say i can't wait, because i can. I'm looking forward to it, and i'm not alone. We're in this together, and it's beautiful.

I might be wrong about this, or about something else. That's fine too, enough good has already come from this band and all the people around it, to make it worth all the while.

They set a good example for how we should be. They show that we're all the same when you get down to it, they tell us to be tolerant of other ideas, to stand up for what we believe in, to stand out and not be afraid to show it, no matter how low you go you can make it out, and so much more! We learn from them and they learn from us. They put out their music because they like, not because it's popular. They set an example for how musicians should be because of that. And somehow they have a good time and aren't afraid to show their faults too. How could people like that not change the world in some way?

What about Road to Acceptance and Minority? ;)

I said "like" xD I was just lazy to write all the other amazing songs about being individual they have x3
