Katarina. Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Love it, great idea! Can't wait to see how this turns out. I agree that it needs some planning, but I'm sure it'll work out in the end.
DoodleBob Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Always full of great ideas, Tony! I'd be 100% for this.
Four. Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Not New Year's Eve! I won't be able to tune in! It is a good idea though. I really like Stephen's idea too. Maybe we could turn it into a giant GDC Radio thing? Kinda?
Burnout98 Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Being in a shitty timezone pays off eventually.
Cori Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Freaking awesome idea! I would definitely find a way to be a part of this!
LittleBoyNamedTrain Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 That's a brilliant idea! I'm sure we'd pull it off too, with all the different time zones involved in this forum
San Miguel Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Sounds like a great idea to me - if not new years eve, then sometime over the holiday period might be best - giving more people chance of being able to tune in. you could do member's favourite songs, or battle of the songs, etc..
Sweet Armataged Chump Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Great Idea! I would try and watch it the whole 24 hours... I have no life... I will also do this if I can. I already listen to Green Day almost 24/7.
Satan Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 people are busy on new years though, what about January 2nd, so we're still in the new years mode but not out celebrating
whitechristmas Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 I'm also busy on new year's, but this is a great idea!
Leisha-LUNA Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Unbelievably keen! Especially with the idea of it being for charity...even though I am super poor and don't think I'd be able to donate much, I know of another fandom that recently did a 24 hour live stream to raise money for charity and it was awesome. Ideas for activities: Play the Billie Joe Y'know drinking game.
Undómiel Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 That's a brilliant idea and I love to be involved!
Emilie Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 When I first saw the name I thought it was going to be all "hey, let's see if we can have 24 hours where at least one member's online at all times!" I thought "doesn't that already happen? " But yeah, this sounds great.
November's Storms Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Maybe we should pick a few very dedicated people to form an informal "committee" (I hate that word but you know what I mean) who can talk and plan over skype, reporting back to the thread with ideas or plans. I don't think having it on new years eve would be very good. If its going to be for charity we should have proper notice for it to spread the word n all.
greendaytone Posted December 17, 2011 Author Posted December 17, 2011 Yep will certainly need a "team" to put this all together. Volunteers step forward. Will be looking for people to help with (more things to come probably): - planning (people, time and content) - scheduling (plan out the 24 hours segmentation, who's on where and when) - presenting (people to do 'DJ sets', interviews, quizzes etc) PM me or state here if you would like to be involved with any of the above, or anything else i might have initially overlooked.
Brian Gag Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 You know I'm down for that. How would I get involved?
greendaytone Posted December 17, 2011 Author Posted December 17, 2011 You know I'm down for that. How would I get involved? You could help by presenting an hour or 2 "radio style" if that's of most interest to you?
Fuzz Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 I think it sounds pretty great. I doubt Warner/ASCAP would agree though. ASCAP are the ones that asked GDA to either take down some of our downloads or pay a few hundred dollars for the rights, or risk getting fined "damages" for streaming music. That's always the problem with stuff like this. if it gets too big, it attracts attention from the legal departments.

Smoothed Out Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Wow that's such an awesome idea...time zones are so annoying.
