EJN Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Has the band ever asked for help with songs or recording since signing to Reprise?
lizziebix Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Cool. Some good questions here. I wonder if Larry is preparing. Getting all these down! I wonder if Larry is reading this thread and getting a jump on his answers!
koolkev Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I'll try to think of some... Don't know him/what he's done very much...
Larry Livermore Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Some very good questions here. I look forward to answering them. Or, on the other hand, I could just answer them all here and then Tony would have to make up a whole new set of questions on the day! Anybody else think that would be hilarious? All kidding aside, though, Tony is too good of a guy for me to pull a trick like that on him. So I'll just wait till I see him in London, and I'm sure we'll have a very productive chat, one which I hope will culminate in his finally abandoning his loyalty to Arsenal and coming over to the Fulham side of town!

Well! You joined on my birthday
Undómiel Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 As he's friends with the band.... ask him when the new album is coming out!

We both know football fandom doesn't work like that! If there are some questions you want to answer here now, feel free. I don't expect i'll have a shortage!

I knew it!!!! And Larry, as Tony just said, we'd love to hear some of your answers here, if you want/have the time/inclination! There are still plenty of questions for Tony to ask face to face and I'm sure he has some of his own questions not posted here.
PleasedToMeetMe Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 If Green Day had decided to jump to a major before releasing Kerplunk do you think that album would have been just as successful as Dookie?
jacknovella Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 What's your favourite Green Day song and why?
Larry Livermore Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 If Green Day had decided to jump to a major before releasing Kerplunk do you think that album would have been just as successful as Dookie? No. As he's friends with the band.... ask him when the new album is coming out! The band want to announce that themselves, so since it's their album and not mine, I think I will let them!
Isabel Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Can't wait to hear more about this upcoming complilation! Some amazing bands are listed on there
Abbey. Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I guess over the past year Larry was a full-time writer having churned out Spy Rock. Was that his first experience as a full-time writer and what did he like/not-like about it?
Breath. Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 The band want to announce that themselves, so since it's their album and not mine, I think I will let them! DOES THIS MEAN WE WON'T HAVE TO WAIT MUCH?? Ok,I stop this, sorry.
Cori Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I'm sorta new to the Green Day fandom, so I'm going to ask this. What was your reaction when you first learned that band was signing on to Reprise? Did you feel like they were "selling out" like many of the others from Gilman Street, or did you feel happy for them or proud of them or a whole mix of emotions that's difficult to describe?

Did you feel like they were "selling out" like many of the others from Gilman Street, or did you feel happy for them or proud of them or a whole mix of emotions that's difficult to describe? A whole mix of emotions, but I never thought that they were "selling out." How could I, when they were making exactly the same kind of music they'd been making all along, just for a different label? We sat down and talked about it for quite a while, and once I was sure that was what they really wanted, I wished them the best of luck and did everything I could (which admittedly wasn't much, since by that time, they'd been around long enough to have a pretty good idea what they were doing) to help.

Thank you very much. That was just something I'd been wondering for a while.
pasalaska Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I'm curious to hear any more little facts like the mislabelling of 'One For The Razorback'. Any little interesting tidbits like that would be great to hear, if there are any more.
GDM Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I hope will culminate in his finally abandoning his loyalty to Arsenal and coming over to the Fulham side of town! That ain't gonna happen!
November's Storms Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I'm curious to know with all his never-ending travels, what his favourite place(s) in the world is(are) and why, and along with that are there any places that he'd never go back to. Dammit you got there before me! Definitely stick a travel question in there please All kidding aside, though, Tony is too good of a guy for me to pull a trick like that on him. So I'll just wait till I see him in London, and I'm sure we'll have a very productive chat, one which I hope will culminate in his finally abandoning his loyalty to Arsenal and coming over to the Fulham side of town! Not likely, no matter how much Arsenal underperform pressure you put him under
kellista Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I don't know if this has been asked yet, I'm to lazy to read 2 pages. Do you have any stories of Tre being obnoxious, that you can share?
Bastard of 1967 Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 (Hopefully getting this one in under the wire, Tony) -- Larry: Your travels are extensive, and you've lived in a wide variety of places ranging from Detroit to the Bay area to the boonies to England. Of all places, why the heck did you end up in Brooklyn?
dryvenom Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Could you tell us about a moment that got stuck in your memory about the times you've worked with the band?
greendaytone Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 Thanks guys, some excellent questions. Still a week or so to get more questions in!
Welshy Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Ask him when he started writing, did he write for anyone before the Lookout zine? Also, if has any plans after the compilation album and Spy Rock Memories being made into a book?
