So i'm going to this now too x) oh dear my poor bank account. I'm not sure if i should stay for the saturday event? if so then i'll need to find a place to stay.

London is full of hostels which are quite cheap from what I gather.. maybe try one of them? :)

I'm thinking about going now too. I would have to leave on Saturday already though because flights on Sundays are so expensive. Would I miss anything? Or what is going on on Saturday?

All this speculation on facebook is annoying at this stage. JUST SPIT IT OUT, FFS. Sure the thing is sold out anyway so whether or not they show up won't matter to the people who haven't bought tickets.

God yes, it's totally not needed. It's just making everyone else feel really out of the loop and excluded.

Tony, can't you please just tell us anything and everything you know about whether or not Green Day will be there, for either of the events - I'm quite literally losing sleep over this!! I get that nothing is confirmed, but come on you can give us more information than that! Since when were you so secretive? :lol: All I want to know is whether I have a dying need to be in London on January 20th/21st, that's not too much to ask is it? XD

For those who can't read his post, here's what he said

Ok everyone, very sorry for not updating you sooner. I've been travelling most of the day and trying to get things in place. To be totally truthful.... nothing is confirmed right now. I/We/You are working on something very exciting for the 21st January in the London area. It will be a fan meet up for FREE in the London area. We are looking for an outdoor public park to hold this. Bands will be and are being invited to it as we speak, from around the world. It's going to be an open and free celebration of human freedom, to hang out in a park together for the princely sum of 0 of your local currency. Tickets are uneccessary. In short, if you want to be there, you can. So invite you all to come. Make of that what you will. I'll repeat, at the moment, nothing is confirmed.

They are aware of the event. They haven't said anything to us about whether they want to be there or even if they can. All we know is that they know about it.

Too bad the first event is sold out, I'd love to be there for the 21st tho. It would be a good opportunity for me to meet up with a friend and fellow GD fan who moved there too, sounds so much fun!

I'll think about it, I'm kind of broke at the moment :pinch:

Yeah? I mean i don't mind sleeping at a hostage at all, it's just that it would be really neat to be with some people i actually know. Or atleast internet-know :P

We've gotten word from the band (via Netty) that they don't have plans to be at the event. She posted this on Facebook

just some info for green day peeps - I've had official word they won't be in London for the meet up. Sorry peeps.

I'm in the same boat. I really want to go, but had originally decided to save the money for an actual GD show, but now I'm slightly reconsidering (even though it's been confirmed that they won't be there). Oh well, I don't even have a ticket for this event haha, but I'm still curious to hear what exactly is gonna happen on the 21st! Sounds interesting.

And really, I just miss London! (oh and, other GD fans of course..! :P)

Same here. Even the train is expensive though =/ I'll see how plans for the 21st go. Don't know whether I'll make it or not. It'd be cool though.
