whatsup? Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 This is so lovely ...and this is so Billie Joe.... ....it was special to read this... and well, yesss, ... that PS!!!!
DoodleBob Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Either is this fake or Billie now spells like he's British. "Labour" I noticed that too. Mabe he's trying to be more like British people. He does like to fake British accents.
Bam-Itz-GreenDay Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Thats an awesome letter. I loved the little backstory to AI... i never knew WMUWSE was the first song..cool
HitmonSal Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 For some reason reading"Take it on your own personal journey and rally up the demons of your soul" made my eyes fill up with tears. i blame hormones.
Heather. Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 dude, someone still has prodigy??? If that's Billie, I'm picturing him handing over his business card... "Billie Joe Armstrong. Child prodigy." Also, we know he hardly learned to spell in school, so perhaps his British spelling of labour just reflects that he never really learned what's right and maybe he's seen that more or something.
Satan Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 this was so nice *fangirl* *fangirl* *fangirl* *fangirl* *fangirl*
DoodleBob Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 For some reason reading"Take it on your own personal journey and rally up the demons of your soul" made my eyes fill up with tears. i blame hormones. I actually started it to read it to the rhythm of Know Your Enemy.
Annie, get your gun Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 I want to know about the ps too But anyway, this letter is adorable enough Too bad that I'm never going to see the show...
miragots Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 This is so awesome! <3 it's amazing how poetic he is in his writing..
Schlappy Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 "p.s. save some shows for me" mmmhmm i can see it now... no wonder they covered it up
Laurina Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Either is this fake or Billie now spells like he's British. "Labour" Or Canadian
in_your_face Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 shoulda been a hand written one. we would have taken a year to decipher it.
BillieJoe1972 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Imagine how cool it was for the cast members to open their email to see that from Billie Joe!! Must have been a great feeling!! It's so nice of him to write that. What an inspiration!!
farley drexel hatcher Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Maybe the PS was that he would be visiting them soon or something XD
pretty_and_demented Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 PS?! Wtf? And "All My Love" teehee... I love Billie Joe
lizziebix Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Thanks for posting it for all of us to see (not just the few of us that regularly read the musical thread). What a really nice email to send to the cast. Obviously he's still very involved and interested in the success of this project. Can't wait to see it even more now.
Clayish Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 I thought Homecoming was the first song written for AI...
fiercecircus Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 If that's Billie, I'm picturing him handing over his business card... "Billie Joe Armstrong. Child prodigy." Also, we know he hardly learned to spell in school, so perhaps his British spelling of labour just reflects that he never really learned what's right and maybe he's seen that more or something. When i was a kid i used to spell things the British way because i thought it looked cooler. And because i knew it was a correct spelling either way. Got marked off for it every.fucking.time. And fought it all the way. Colour. Labour. Oh well. My favorite was Tyre. Also- has anyone ever heard a brit pronounce the word "Aluminum"? It's fucking amazing.
Sanity Loan Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 I thought Homecoming was the first song written for AI... That's what they've always said
Heather. Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 That's what they've always said Maybe there are multiple "firsts". Perhaps he technically wrote WMUWSE first, but Homecoming was the first song they wrote that really made them realize their vision for AI as an album.
