Hermione Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 It wouldn't be boring. The guys would be playing songs they haven't played in decades and some they've never played live. There are fans that weren't around during the Kerplunk days that DO wanna see this live and amazingly some fans don't? Can we still call those people fans? I don't know why people would oppose this idea. They could do a full album and then do other favorites afterword. It's not like they would do 1 album and then call it a night. It's just personal preference, some would prefer to see a full album and some would prefer a mix. For me seeing a particularly entertaining song live (even if they've played it millions of times before) is more exciting than seeing a rare song live. If I was able to go more than one show on the tour then yeah I reckon it'd be cool to see a full album show one of the nights. But if I was only going to one show I'd rather see the traditional mix of songs including all the onstage traditions that go with them. I especially felt that way the first time I saw them, I wanted to see everything I'd heard about and watched videos of for myself. Most fans are only gonna go to one show on a tour so I can totally understand not being keen on the idea.
greendaytodeathandback Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Oh yeah, and now I also had this thought that it's us, the hard-core fans that would actually want to see the concert... Yeah, I mean they are still punk and all, but their advisers and all would tell them that sticking to a good few of the hits would be kind of necessary, plus I'm sure the lads would want as many people as possible involved from start to finish of their concerts, y'know?
Penguin Puffball Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 If I wanted to hear a band play an album front to back, I would just listen to the album.
