"I think they found another cure for broken hearts and feeling insecure" Restless Heart Syndrome

I think that entire sing is lyrically genius but I just love this lyric so much

Some of my absolute favorites:

"I may be dumb but I'm not stupid enough to stay with you." - Stuart & the Ave

"What's the difference between you and me? I do what I want, and you do what you're told." - Reject

"Come together like a foot in a shoe, only this time I think I stuck my foot in my mouth." - Walking Alone

I'd say anything said in Dominated Love Slave is pretty inspiring!

But for real, my fav lyircs are:

"So make the best of the this test and don't ask why"

"Its something unpredictable, but in the end its right, I hope you had the time of your life"

"Here we go again, infatuation"

"I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies"

Those are only some, I have so many more :)

So go do what you like, but try and do it wise. You may find out that your self doubt means nothing was ever there, you can't go forcing something if its just not right - WICA

“After the American Idiot tour, it was nice to get back home and get into some different stuff. I was riding a motorcycle around, going surfing and watching my kids go through puberty. Turns out I can grow one hell of a beard. I become Weird Beard and would run down the beach and have people throw change at me. There are good sides of being normal and stepping away from Green Day and other times where you want to run back to it as fast as is humanly possible.”

FAVORITE LYRIC FROM REVOLUTION RADIO

"I found a knife by the railroad track
You took a train and you can't go back
Forever now, forever now you'll roam" - Outlaws

Favorite lyrics (RevRad edition):

  • What good is love and peace on Earth, when it's exclusive?  ~Troubled Times
  • Hallelujah I found my soul under the sofa pillows  ~Somewhere Now
  • I'm running late to somewhere now, I dont want to be  ~Somewhere Now
  • I never learned to read or write so well, but I can play the guitar until it hurts like hell  ~Forever Now
  • If this is what you call the good life, I want a better way to die  ~Forever Now
  • I want to start a revolution, I want to hear it on my radio, I'll put it off another day  ~Forever Now

My favorite lyrics are:

It seems so frightening
Time passes by like lightning
Before you know it you're struck down

From Android and

Jimmy died today
He blew his brains into the bay
In this state of mind, it's my own private suicide

From Homecoming

"It makes me wonder when I grow to be that age
Will I be walking down the street begging for you spare change?
Or will I grow that old? Will I still be around?
The way I carry on I'll end up 6 feet underground
And waste away"
- From Android

"Gotta make a plan, gotta do what's right
Can't run around in circles if you want to build a life
But I don't wanna make a plan for a day far away
While I'm young and while I'm able all I want to do is..."
-  From J.A.R

Easily 2 of the most relatable songs for me and I'm sure for many others as well.

"For now I'll lie around
hell, that's all I can really do
She takes good care of me
Just keep saying my love is true"
- From Pulling Teeth. Can't really relate to the subject, but I like the lyrics.

I love these too, I can simply relate to them as well. I love J.A.R. It's one of those songs you can listen to when you're feeling down somehow, because other people don't understand that you don't seek happiness in working all day and you have nothing but that stupid job that you hate. I want to do things that I love doing and be with the people I love. Sadly, it's sometimes really hard to have this, many people don't have the opportunity to do what they want and they have to work for food, which is really really sad.

Love that one too! It sums up all my insecurity about feeling too old and you can't do anything about this but "wait till the end". Now I'm thinking about how Kerplunk is such an awesome record lyrically. Love it.

I see my friends begin to age
A short countdown to their end

J.A.R has another personal aspect to me, because I have my own J.A.R. We were classmates during highschool, we wern't close friends, but we always had fun when we were hanging out with each other. He died as a result of an accident. He was a good person that never wanted anyone to be harmed, he didn't deserve it at all.
I don't want to go deeper about this to respect his privacy.

I feel really sorry for your loss. One of my classmates, who I always considered as a good friend, died at the age of 19 in a car accident. He wasn't driving, his friend was.

Thank you, I feel sorry for your loss too. Many people have their own J.A.R, a friend who died before growing up. Dying this young is something I don't wish to anyone or to their relatives.

I love "spontaneous combustion in the corners of my mind" from Castaway - describes how I feel most of the time!

There are so many lyrics to choose from because they're all so relatable :P

"I do not mind if all I am is just a friend to you, but all I want to know right now is if you think about me too" (Paper Lanterns)

"Don't pat yourself on the back, you might break your spine" (Nice Guys Finish Last)

"If I could only hold you, it's the onky thing I want to do" (Only Of You)

"I'm losing what's left of my dignity, a small price to pay to see that you're happy" (One For The Razorbacks)

"Question everything, or shut up and be a victim of authority" (Warning)

"Stepped out of the line, like a sheep runs from the herd. Marching out of time, to my own beat now" (Minority)

"Do you have the time, to listen to me whine, about nothing and everything all at once" (Basket Case)

"So why are you alone wasting your time, when you could be with me wasting your time" (Sassafras Roots)

And many, many more :P

Kerplunk! does have some great lyrics, I really like:

When I was younger I thought the world circled around me
But in time I realized I was wrong

From "One of My Lies"

And

I've got some scattered pictures lying on my bedroom floor.
Reminds me of the times we shared.
Makes me wish that you were here.
Now it seems I've forgotten my purpose in this life.
All the songs have been erased.
Guess I've learned from my mistakes.

From "Scattered".

I also love the lyrics of Paper Lanterns and Dry Ice. I think just those entire songs are beautiful.

Yeah Nimrod is another lyrical masterpiece. I love Scattered, Redundant, Reject, Prostethic Head or The Grouch. Not that the rest would be forgettable.

Pretty much all of Green Day's lyrics are masterpieces.I find 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours has some relatable lyrics.
