At the end of the day, people are still watching youtube and i've seen it done plenty of times on other sites. The cynic might say there's no such thing as ownership on the internet! Thats sort of true, with the internet being such a public place, doesn't anything you post become public property, ie this post is now owned by GDC, its no longer just a thought in my head. But lets save this conversation for a potentially future debate thread
justcause Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I think it looks great and that GDA visitors will love it ; I know that when I was checking out various GD sites, before I joined here, one of the things I loved was finding a selection of videos. Like, what one site had would be different from what another site had. Question - are you intending this to be a big vault that accumulates, or a regularly updated selection of stuff?

I think the idea is to continually add to it so we've got a pretty complete collection of all the "ŵorthwhile" videos we can find.

I suggest that you also mention and link the GDC Downloads forum - it's such a great resource, and it deserves the exposure.

I have some suggestions that I personally would love: A section that specifically ONLY links to HD videos. A section, as has been mentioned before, that includes "rarities"... such a term would need to be defined, as it can be pretty subjective, but for example, the live performance of "Drama Queen" and rare live songs... I'm not sure the bandwidth capacity of GDA in hosting these videos (or if it's not an issue because they're all on YouTube?) but if you plan on having an extremely full videography available, maybe as you add more and more to the Tour category it can be divided by era. And maybe a section for the AI musical? Great stuff, I have no complaints.
