Great news!!! I've seen the TV show a couple of times. It's funny.

Btw, Edie Falco must be freaking short!

Birth Name

Edith Falco

Height

5' 5" (1.65 m)

Billie Joe Armstrong

Height

5' 7" (1.70 m)

"[on what he would like to do instead of music] I've done some producing, that I can do. But acting for me, I'm pretty sure I don't know how to do that. I really don't want to go through a process of trying to figure out how to do it. I think as soon as you start acting that realness of you that people love is gone because you're pretending to be something else on screen."

Can't wait for this, I have watched Nurse Jackie since it started. Great show!!

Never seen this show before, but I love it when Billie/Green Day guest stars on TV show. :D This new fuckn' made my day.

I've never seen the show, so the premiere of the new season will be a first! Pretty exciting news!

Anyone know if he needs a SAG card (or whatever) to be able to be in the AI movie? Or did his stint on Broadway give him that? Plaid - you'd probably know best!

When I first saw this topic, I thought "Why have the mods let this troll thread grow to three pages?" I can't believe it's legitimate! I love to see Billie branching out even further than he already has. I hope he's realized just how fun acting is.

hahahaha not so sure about this. Don`t get me wrong, I can`t wait to see it!!! I just feel a little iffy about him acting on TV...it`s just...weird? I don't know...BILLIES ACTING NOW!!! yup definitely weird!! Can't wait to see how it turns out though.

Wow...this whole post is so fucked...lmao - sorry.

Maybe he's been taking acting lessons (for his real St Jimmy role in the AI movie)? I'm so optomistic about him playing it!!

Sounds like a St. Jimmy-like character though

already getting type-casted!!! :P

We don't watch this show :(

Ooh, Nurse Jackie. Or as my Grandma refers to it, That Inappropriate Porno Show.

I might try to convince her to watch it with me just once.

I had to read all of this just to make sure this wasn't a troll/spam thread. But this sounds really exciting! His character sounds very St. Jimmy-like, so I think he'll do a good job. Hopefully better than some...other tv appearances in the past, hah.

I wish I had Showtime though, someone has to tape this when it airs.

I know! It's precious! Just like a real actor! Haha.

I really hope this will help the show recover from its shitty third season!

Haha all I can see in my head is the clip is Haunted, which was quite awkward to watch. But this is really cool, super super super unexpected! :woot:

alfjaslasdfasdfdk;j this is so weird. Sorry, just trying to wrap my mind around it.

His part in Haunted was just totally random and weird. This should be a real test of his acting abillieties! I hope he does well and it inspires him for St. Jimmy.

I think, theoretically, he SHOULD make a good actor. He's got the right personality and emotional range, at least...

come on billie! channel the actor within! we believe in you! redeem poor ghostly betting man...

they should really just cast him as a drunken saucy priest. i mean he's pretty much nailed being the Rev. im sure there are plenty of roles out there fitting those criteria :P

He's itching to write another musical. It might as well be about a drunk, horny reverend...

How would you know what he is "itching to" do.... I really do not enjoy that statement.

I rather liked his part in Haunted. I thought he did really well. It was a difficult part to play and I highly doubt you could have done better.

How inconvenient, someone has spilled some bitchiness in the thread. I'll clean that up while you guys stay on topic, kay?

I really truly am excited to see how Billie does - despite what everyone says, he is getting to be a better actor (just look at his Chris Isaak Show performance  ), and his stint on Broadway must have made him more learned in the way of the thespian.

There are different unions between stage, television & film. His stage credit probaby got him an AEA contract/membership. For TV, he has either AFTRA or SAG membership. Depending if he did get SAG membership, that would be fine for the American Idiot movie.

You have to do so much union contract work before being able to get membership with a union. However, I'm not sure of any of Green Day televised performances count as part of that. I remember a couple of the Idiot cast having a hard time with AFTRA for their Grammy performance... Either way, Billie has some sort-of union contract for Nurse Jackie which allows him to do the show.

And the character descriptions can always change before filming, especially with sides used for casting.

If none of this makes sense, then I blame the lack of sleep.... Zzzzzzzzzzzz...... Zzzzzzzzzzz.....

I'm always astounded at your incredible knowledge of all things stage and screen! Thanks for informing us noobs :)
