I'm fighting back the urge go post on GDA's twitter "Good job, Green Day fans. Because of you guys, Green Day has lost to Evanescence. You're not worthy to call yourself a fan!"

We worked our asses off trying to get this. Ev just put out a new album so we are just pumped to have them back after 5 years and we want to make them proud By no means should you feel like your fan base failed you. We're just crazy! I'm sure you guys will take out the next one, you shouldn't give up because of us.

Hate, to say it, but i think we're gonna lose this one. I think some hardcore Evanescence fan has set up some algorithm to make it autovote every second or something! We seriously have a hardcore dedicated fan base for Ev. People were up all night voting til we couldn't feel our hands. It was all over Ev forums. You guys did very well though, we had to work very hard I think I believe Tony's idea more than just a lot of fans voting their hands off. There were a lot of us voting constantly and the numbers never went our way. Congrats on winning but I don't really think you played fair.

That's not sour grapes, i thought that before posting about it. These sites do it just to get loads of clicks. But then again, they did say "Battle Of The Fans" so anything goes i guess!

But I am a member of most of Ev forums and facebook groups, I follow Ev twitters and Tumblrs and everything there is, and I never saw ANYONE that did anything but vote as much as he could. It was really frustrating when no one was there to vote, I'd click on Evanescence, and percentage would go up for GD. I felt like I'm voting for them, instead of Ev. Every time we started to lose, someone would yell that we're losing, and that we need to vote, and only then the votes would go up. We have some experience from earlier years, when Evanescence was a big and famous (?) band, and we can be really passionate when it comes to our band. And consider the fact that we waited for 5 freaking years for the new album, out of which, for 3, we didn't even know if there IS going to be a new record. Us voting like crazy isn't really surprising, taking that in consideration. So yeah. Pardon my english, I know it's not perfect. And no, I didn't register just to say this, I actually like Green Day.

Hermione Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 People used to use automatic voting things on here all the time.....been plenty of polls in the past where loads of people were using that automatic page refresh thing to multiple vote and I'm sure many people on other band's sites were doing the same. Not sure when people started being bothered about it. However in this poll we only lost by a small margin plus Evanescence has a new album out, I don't see anything suspicious about the result.
