Marki. Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I hope we won't have to wait too long to find out what's all this about! I'd love it to be the rerecording of the first 2 albums!
pisquano Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 My guess: Larry Livermore will be producing Green Day's new album. It's likely what is going to happen. Do you remember that article which was about them searching a producer for the new record, but Cavallo is busy now that he is the chairman of Warner Music and Vig was producing the last Foo Fighters' album. Don't know if the latter is free or not at the moment.
YossNimrod Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 what ?!! alsdfksgjdaglaksgv that'd be so epic
farley drexel hatcher Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Yeah the only thing I can think of is him producing the next album. Probably not but that'd be interesting if it is the case.
norcalgreendayfan Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 The idea sounds exciting and I can't wait to see what comes out of all this.
PleasedToMeetMe Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 My guess is that Billie is going to finance a new label for Larry so he can continue to put out records like he used to. I figure maybe Billie feels he owes a lot to him and can't stand seeing him NOT putting out records and discovering great bands. As much as I don't see it happening though, I REALLY hope Larry is involved with the new GD lp!
Ferna Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 OmG! i have no idea the offer, but please god say faster the fu.... thing
IscoredWaddlesgoals Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Be funny if it turns out they're just designing a t-shirt together or somesuch.
Malleus Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 This is really exciting. I don't even have any real guesses as to what it could be. I hope Larry is producing the next GD record. That would be nuuuts.
Ashley! Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 This is exciting, I cant wait to hear more!
segaloco Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Hell, I wonder if he's working with Larry to release a comp of tracks that were recorded back in the Lookout days but never released on an EP or LP. Think Journey's Time3. Either way this looks cool, I could stand for some Lookouts material not released either, maybe other stuff from the Lookouts sessions with Billie Joe remastered or something? It would give them something to release to bide some time for the next major album, I mean, that's what they did with International Superhits and Shenanigans.
Karen. Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 My guess is that Billie is going to finance a new label for Larry so he can continue to put out records like he used to. That was my thought, or that it would be Adeline - East Coast flavour. In other musings - now we can add Godfather to the list of Billie titles - God, King, Saint - Does the goodness never end?
Margo 39 smooth Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 This is dumb but the first thought that came to my head was that Green Day would just throw us all off and release their next album off of lookout or something like that. (does lookout still exist? )
Ellenkc Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 This is dumb but the first thought that came to my head was that Green Day would just throw us all off and release their next album off of lookout or something like that. (does lookout still exist? ) I think so? Larry isn't involved with them at all anymore though and I seriously doubt Green Day would ever go back to them seeing as they probably still owe them a tonne of unpaid royalties...
Stormy Haze Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Nobody has no idea of what this could turn out to be... but I'm really excited and curious anyway!
Larry Livermore Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Lots of good guesses here! Some with a little bit of truth to them, some with none at all! But it's good to see people are interested!!
pasalaska Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Lots of good guesses here! Some with a little bit of truth to them, some with none at all! But it's good to see people are interested!! Of course we're interested! I'm assuming the Lookouts on CD guess was completely on the side of 'none at all' Are we going to get any clues any time soon?
Karen. Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Lots of good guesses here! Some with a little bit of truth to them, some with none at all! But it's good to see people are interested!! So is it the compilation album?
arian Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 He's putting out the compilation Larry has been talking about on Adeline, right? That's what I heard. I hope so because people on poppunkbored were pushing to put my boyfriend's band on that when Larry started the thread looking for bands. Lots of good guesses here! Some with a little bit of truth to them, some with none at all! But it's good to see people are interested!! Oh.. Even if this has nothing to do with the comp, you really should put Parasite Diet on it.
melissawebster Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Lots of good guesses here! Some with a little bit of truth to them, some with none at all! But it's good to see people are interested!! Oh come on... just a little, teeny tiny hint so we can focus our fantasies more accurately?
Satan Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Lots of good guesses here! Some with a little bit of truth to them, some with none at all! But it's good to see people are interested!! when can we expect to get more info?
Dylan. Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 It's likely what is going to happen. Do you remember that article which was about them searching a producer for the new record, but Cavallo is busy now that he is the chairman of Warner Music and Vig was producing the last Foo Fighters' album. Don't know if the latter is free or not at the moment. It would be rather interesting, don't you think? I mean, Livermore is hardly experienced in these new studios. In fact, I don't think he's even produced a record in the 21st Century. However, based on the direction Green Day seems to be going with their new sound, it seems like they would be doing most of the production and mixing themselves anyways. Livermore would probably be there for support, and to stick his name on the side. It would certainly sell records to the punk scene. I'm thinking if the case is that Green Day wants Livermore, it would be in a supportive role, not supervisory. when can we expect to get more info? I will do a tarot reading and let you know.
Heather. Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Whoever suggested a re-recording of 1039SOSH and Kerplunk... well, I know it's unlikely, but boy did that get my heart racing.
DoodleBob Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I was thinking that maybe Billie Joe offered Larry a job at Adeline. But then again, the rerecording of 1039/SOSH and Kerlpunk! would make sense, even though it's highly unlikely. I mean, I remember watching an interview and Billie Joe was talking about how their older stuff was missing on Green Day rockband. Didn't Lookout not give them permission to use the material? So rerecording would have it's benefits... And what is better than to use the orginial guy that did all of the recording? Just a thought.
