Smoothed Out Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I agree with most of that. They can escape larger venues if they want though, if they do a Foxboro show. The different name makes ALL the difference. When they played in London across town a couple of hours after a Green Day show there was no chaos and the show was only half full. And that's even with them announcing it on greenday.com and Billie talking about it onstage at the Green Day show. All they've gotta do is play under the name Foxboro Hot Tubs instead of Green Day and they can slot small shows in if they feel like it. I hope they get the urge to do a few shows like that next time! The logistics of organizing it must be a bit of a nightmare but I think they enjoy it enough that they might. I completely agree, when I said they can't escape it I was referring to `Green Day` as Green Day playing the smaller venues If that makes sense
Hermione Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I completely agree, when I said they can't escape it I was referring to `Green Day` as Green Day playing the smaller venues If that makes sense Oh I see . Well in that case I agree entirely! A few small-ish warm up shows like they did in California, New York, Germany and France just before 21st CB would be nice though. Especially if they did one in, say, the UK
AWWNA Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Yayy! This thread makes me way too exited. I really don't know about the stadium shows or bar shows, 'cause i've seen only a stadium-/ outdoor show, but i'm sure about one thing: they should get rid of that catwalk thingy. I mean, yeah, it's awesome to see those stagedives and stuff, but it sucks that so many things depend where are you going stand during the gig. If it would be a normal stage, many people would have a better view. And in my opinion it sucks that you'll need to choose between the Mike-experience, Billie-experience and Jason-experience..
Brigister Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 I hope there's gonna be also a stage in Italy, 'cause I've never seen them live and I really wish I will some day. I'd like to see a little bit less showy and flashy performance, I mean, without all those effects and stuff, no "stage clothes" (those clothes they only wear when they play live lately), no makeup, just Green Day and their instruments, that's all they need to rock the shit outta me I'd be happy to see them live in each case, though

I see what you mean about it not being good for views, but I think it's spectacular for crowd interaction. It also gives Billie more than one direction to run in all night.
darenmay Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 that they'd tour the rest of asia they have never visited before. :/
StuckWithRob Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 They should open with Going to Pasalcqua or Armatage Shanks, then play Nice Guys Finish Last. And forget playing 21 Guns live, it's the only one I thought was a poor song when they played it.
KerplunkxCreak Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 How is that something to complain about? well, in England they doy like at least 4 cities, and in Spain the 2 cities they always do are as far as each other, so it´s quite crap...
Isabel Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 21CB is really not that great of an opener well, in England they doy like at least 4 cities, and in Spain the 2 cities they always do are as far as each other, so it´s quite crap... More like 9 or 10 shows in the UK but they have a much larger following in the United Kingdom in comparison to Spain. Sure in Ireland 2009 was the first time in 11 years that they played in two cities. They hadn't been to Belfast since 1998. And think of all the people whose countries Green Day doesn't travel to
Brigister Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Isabel I'm so freaking jealous of you singing Longview on stage, oh my gosh. Life is so unfair, why am I italian?
Paul McCartney Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Maybe during the tour Billie can play tons of instruments.(which are guitar, bass, piano, sax, drums, harmonica) and he can add Amy to the acoustic encore.
gdpony Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Well, hopefully they'll come to central america again, and not only to Costa Rica! And hopefully I'll be able to travel to more countries to follow the tour Also, I hope the concerts are the same length as they were during the 21CB tour. Amazing how they were able to perform for so long with the same quality show after show Hopefully they won't forget to make us fans feel special like they've done so far!
KatherineKerplunk Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I like them to play Wembley Stadium again.
Beathe. Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 well, in England they doy like at least 4 cities, and in Spain the 2 cities they always do are as far as each other, so it´s quite crap... They don't even come to some countries so I don't really the problem. They play one show here, and we're not complaining.
KerplunkxCreak Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 They don't even come to some countries so I don't really the problem. They play one show here, and we're not complaining. Well, I'm not complaining, I'm just saying that I wish they played more in other countries, as in other countries that they never played as well. That's it.
DeAmbassador Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Well I'd like to see Green Day to come to regions they haven't,like Balkan countries. Just imagine 90.000 greeks singing Holiday in front of the Greek parlament O.o.

That's it. When someone says that something is "quite crap...", I see it as complaining. Off course everyone wants more shows, it would be amazing if they had played in two cities here, but I highly doubt it.
jamesobxfan2296 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I hope they come out to KY where I live. I have no idea why I didn't try to talk my parents in to driving me up to Chicago so I could've seen them at Lollapalooza 2010. I hope they also have an awesome stage set up like the last tour. I loved those back screens that showed the new york city buildings and the fire during "Know Your Enemy", I hope they bring those back or something very similar.
jamesobxfan2296 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 First post in 6 months. I hope that the tour is just as fun as the 21st Century tour. I loved it when Billie brought all the fans on stage. I hope they keep the same amount of crowd interaction with the next tour. I also hope that they keep the ticket prices affordable and not charge $150 a ticket like many bands do nowadays.
GreenDayisAmazing Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I agree with the people who said stadium concerts. If Green Day only played bars/clubs they would have a lot of disappointed fans those who are too young and everyone who weren’t able to get tickets in time. I would love to see Green Day in a small venue one day. Maybe that’s why they do secret shows or shows as Foxboro Hot Tubs. I do hope they still play long 3 hour sets and include the fans in the show by having people come on stage. I never saw Green Day before 21st Century Breakdown, but I absolutely loved seeing them even if the shows were similar. Maybe some more not so popular songs and songs they never really play live. Anyways I’m going to go and can’t wait to see them =D. I'm sure what ever they decide to do it's going to be Awesome as Fuck!!!
frunsi Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 yeah i think they will do similar shows to the 21stCDB tour. but i think this would be pretty cool: a poll on their website, where fans can vote for the songs that they want to hear @ their concert (voters need a special ticket number of something like that to participate). 10 songs (or more or less) on the setlist are chosen by the voters, while the others are chosen by green day. just an idea, but i think that would be really cool

I totally agree with you! I think they should get a lot of people on stage (following the foxboro style) and also low prices, that way every fan could go to more than one concert
Scarlett93 Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 I just hope they'll come to southamerica again but I'll try to see them more times now
