Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Songs that should be played more live.... if you had asked me that a year ago, I'd have a list done and ready, but now I don't know I'd like it if they spread the "special"/rare songs a little more equally. They most only do those songs in big cities. I guess I'd like some more of Insomniac. Not necessarily because it's a favourite song, but it'd be fun to "dance to", for lack of a better word. And some more oldie songs. I'm pretty happy with their setlist as it is, though. While I'd love to hear the aforementioned songs, there aren't many songs that are in the setlist now ("now") that I'd like seeing replaced. Don't you hate it when you give your opinion you always have to say that you are, in order to avoid retaliation from people who beg to differ. Don't you hate it when people give their opinions, but expect others to not give their (contradicting) opinion. I have to say though, I really appreciate how especially on the last tour, at the end when Billie is doing his acoustic thing, he's usually done one or two acoustic oldies before he does When It's Time/WMUWSE/Good Riddance. He did Christie Rd and Words I Might Have Ate and Macy's Day Parade. And I think that's the right time for him to throw in whatever parts of old songs he wants to and it's a beautiful thing. I wish he did that at every stop though, and not just nearing the end of the tour (the last US leg) or on the occasional night elsewhere. I mean, I've been to four shows and the only songs I've heard in the acoustic encore are Last Night On Earth and September thrice, and When It's Time and September once. And Good Riddance of course. I guess that's what I want more out of live shows. Like I mentioned in the beginning of my post... throw in just a couple of non-standard songs more often, and not just sometimes or on special nights.
Of Rage and Love Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 They play one and three at pretty much every show. Anyway... At The Library, Knowledge (They didn't really play it much last tour) , Christie Road, One of my Lies, No Pride, Bab's Uvula Who?, Panic Song, Walking Contradiction, The Grouch, Platypus, Hauskinka, Take Back, Desensitized and they don't really ever play anything from Warning.
pasalaska Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 I don't have a long list of songs that I'd like to see live (anymore, teehee), instead I'd rather have some of the standard setlist songs changed. I mean, I could really do without Brainstew and BOBD and (it kills me to say this for sentimental reasons) KFAD/Shout, simply because there are so many other songs deserving of a live performance. The only song I really want to see live is Take Back, and even though it's my least favourite album, I'd love to see some more live Warning stuff. Seeing some songs live changed my perception of those certain songs, so maybe if I saw more of Warning live, I'd grow to like the album (even) more.
DeAmbassador Posted July 26, 2011 Author Posted July 26, 2011 Gawd, you're right. Let's just stick to the topic,OK?
Clayish Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Holden Caulfield, Pasalaqcua, 86, and Platypus should all be regulars. Whatsername should be the last song of the night. Homecoming replace JOS.
jamesobxfan2296 Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Homecoming replace JOS. As I said earlier, I would love to have Homecoming on the next tour, but I don't think Jesus of Suburbia should be left out. Maybe if Green Day ever makes another live album after their next tour is over, maybe they could include live versions of both JOS and Homecoming. Although I don't wanna think about the end of Green Day's next tour, it hasn't even started much less planned.
jon18 Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 I would like to hear Only of You, One of The Razorbacks more often and i would like to see Worry Rock and Walking Alone live.
DeAmbassador Posted July 26, 2011 Author Posted July 26, 2011 I think the last songs from Dookie should be played regularly.
Sweet Armataged Chump Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 I think Green Day should do a concert of all the songs they haven't played live. I wonder if Tre knows all the songs to 1,039/smoothed out happy hours.
Sweet Armataged Chump Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Only of You, Coming Clean, 86 all acoustic would be pretty cool! Awesome choices. I was surprised to see Only of You played at the last American Idiot show.
deadair Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 The Grouch (if he learns the lyrics again) Pulling Teeth All By Myself (only played once on the 21st Century Breakdown tour) 409 In Your Coffeemaker Welcome To Paradise (considering that it's on two albums, that it's a single and that I still hear it on the radio quite often, they don't play it enough) Peacemaker
Sweet Armataged Chump Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 They play Welcome To Paradise all the time.
WestboundSign! Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Awesome choices. I was surprised to see Only of You played at the last American Idiot show. Same here. But when I saw the video, I was damn amazed, started to smile and just thought: "They have to play Only Of You more often. They really have to!"
DeAmbassador Posted July 26, 2011 Author Posted July 26, 2011 No,they don't,even if WTP is a fan favourite. What about Having a Blast?
WestboundSign! Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Having a Blast .. This song means soo much to me and it would be awesome to hear it live. I hope it will happen someday. Gosh. There are so many songs I would like to hear live but anyway, I'm so pleased with the setlist they play.
Stephanie. Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 If they play Homecoming than Billie should take his shirt off again
Monica. Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 86, Church On Sunday, Take Back, and Horseshoes and Handgrenades would be fun to see live.
Velocity Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Green Day should just have an entire tour where they play a different album in its entirety every night.
gmcloughlin Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 I'd love to hear Homecoming, Going to Pasalaqua, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield, No One Knows, One Of My Lies, Android, Westbound Sign, Take Back, Misery, Macy's Day Parade, Whatsername, Letterbomb and Restless Heart Syndrome. I highly doubt I'll ever hear them all though
