cherrybomb! Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I just got home from sonisphere and as much as I would love to see Green Day play there i just can't see it happening, It's a metal festival through and through so i don't know if green day would go down well with soni fans, and i'd quite like it to stay a heavy fest. For those who don't know much about the fest, this was it's third and best year, headliners were Metallica, Biffy Clyro, and SLIPKNOT! also the big four ( metallica, anthrax, slayer and megadeath) played together, it's mental!
Undómiel Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 My friend is supposed to be going on Camp America next year, she's now debating whether or not to withold her application on the chance that Green Day will be at Sonisphere...
pasalaska Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 so the mention of Green Day was purely the musing of the organiser? hmm. yeah. I'm not getting my hopes up of any concerts until next album, personally. Of course a festival organiser wants to name-drop; it creates hype. I really am doubtful they'll play.
Smoothed Out Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I'm doubtful tbh...I'd like to think it could be a possibility. Then I just remember this --> @BJAofficial Billie Joe Armstrong A festival? With GD? It's my nail and your coffin pal..
Mary711 Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 But that was related to them playing the same festival with Metallica and U2, but I doubt it either.
DoodleBob Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 but tbh i would rather them work on the movie and album, but if they did it all and played sonishphere would be amazing Agreed. I mean, I want an album out! And plus, Sonishphere is going to be more than just Green Day, so they obviously wouldn't be on stage like they would when they tour regularly, but hey, if they can do the movie, album, and Sonisphere, that would be sweet! I'm doubtful tbh...I'd like to think it could be a possibility. Then I just remember this --> Is that what he was talking about? The Sonishpere? I was confused by that tweet..
burnout409 Posted July 11, 2011 Author Posted July 11, 2011 I've been thinking about this, and i would actually rather not go to this, then use the money i would spend on sonisphere, to go to a Concert on the GD tour, i mean 3 hours of Green Day won't happen at Sonisphere, + it was mention on here already, but it really isn't their sort of festival, but i would say that about Blink, RHCP, and Foo's as well.
LinziLetterbomb Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Green Day, Foo Fighters, RHCP and Blink at one festival? Fuck it i'm there! That sounds like my dream festival!
jon18 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Imagine, Green Day would play all their fastest or agressive songs at this metal festival: Bab's Uvula Who? Brain Stew Jaded Platypus Take Back St Jimmy Christian's inferno Horseshoes and Hangrenades And mike would be dressed like this:
Benni; Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 it would be awesome, except the fact that probably sonisphere is not gonna come in holland or in italy. after what happened this year in italy I don't think they are gonna organize it.
Valkin Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Sonisphere this year was amazing, just saying. I don't think Green Day will play Sonisphere. Sonisphere is more of a heavy metal festival and Green Day would be a lot more suited for Reading/Leeds.
colour_me_stupid_ Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 If I could turn back the clock I'd have gone to this instead of Oxegen
bollard_11 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 If I could turn back the clock I'd have gone to this instead of Oxegen Sorry I fucked up But we can gain some solace in the fact that we saw Foo Fighters . . . . .
Comedy & Tragedy Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 My brother went to Sonisphere this year, and from the sound of it, Green Day would be pretty out of place. It seems to be full of metalheads, and apparently the crowds were really violent. I told him that Green Day were possibly playing next year, and even though he's (willingly) seen them twice before, he looked at me in disgust. He likes to make fun of Green Day because he's in denial of his love for them. Seriously
colour_me_stupid_ Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Sorry I fucked up But we can gain some solace in the fact that we saw Foo Fighters . . . . . I was not referring to you at all at all Just.. feckin' Slipknot And Biffy
bollard_11 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I was not referring to you at all at all Just.. feckin' Slipknot And Biffy Fuck those, we all know who the main attraction was

netty Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 this guy has only said they "could have". personally I very much doubt they will be ready to tour by next summer. I dont think we will have another album out until the year after that.
Armageddon Flame. Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Fuck those, we all know who the main attraction was Bill Fuckin' Bailey
Karen. Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 The dates overlap with what is currently the last announced date of the musical tour which happens to be in SF. Not that this means anything necessarily.
JaHawk2009 Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I know it's unlikely, but has there been any more news on this? And when is the Sonisphere headline act usually announced?
desertrose Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 According to this twitter page Green Day is headling @Sonisphereleak http://twitter.com/sonisphereleak CREDITED SOURCE... the information comes from a pulled press release, via email direct from Kililive...9 hours ago PART_1: Queen with Adam Lambert, Robert Plant Band of Joy, Opeth, Seether...6 hours ago PART_2: Green Day, Slash, Billy Idol, The Offspring, My Passion, As I Lay Dying, Killing Joke...3hours ago http://www.virtualfe...test/news/12221 A Twitter account has named eleven acts it alleges are lined up to play Sonisphere 2012. The twitter account posted this tweet before revealing the acts: "FAQ CREDITED SOURCE... the information comes from a pulled press release, via email direct from Kililive.." The twitter account claimed that Queen with Adam Lambert and Green Day will headline the three day festival in Knebworth this July. Currently no acts have been officially confirmed for Sonisphere 2012. The organisers revealed last year that Green Day were in their long list of targets. None of the acts appeared in the list of 13 bands that a Scuzz show aired, claiming one to be a Sonisphere headliner.
greendaytodeathandback Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Don't get me wrong, the other bands are great too, but I just wanna see Green Day After that I'll consider other bands.
