netty Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 ^ Well, it charges $20 a year. You pay $20 and you get a membership for a year, then after a year you can renew it for $20 again. renewal rates are $20 plus shiiping rates for the renewal t-shirt.
pasalaska Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 you have to pay for the shipping of the shirt?! heh, I renewed my membership after the first year of the IC, but I didn't bother this time, so no shirt for me.
Tripe Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Yup, and it's an additional $10 for the shipping for International! Not optional, either, so you might as well say the renewal rates are (as of now, anyway) $25 US and $30 International. I do love the t-shirt this year, though, so I can't complain. And I'll gladly renew each year. The forum is kind of a bust over there, but the occasional contests and presales make it well worth the $$ to me.
Ally Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 1.Is there Live Audio of new tour?WHAT CAN BE PRODUCED IN IDIOT CLUB? I'm guessing you mean is there other live audio? Is so then no, nothing other than we already have 2.Is it legal if I post any contents to youtube or share it with my friends? Is this related to IC? Strictly speaking its not legal to post any album recordings, whether they are dubbed over images or whatever as the songs are copyright, however live recordings that you have done, or cover a song its legal. 3.Will idiot club be still active when Green Day doesn't publish a record? Is it updated generally like LP Underground? IC is always "active" though there is usually less people around on the forum when there isnt much going on. But generally the news and everything is still updated 4.What's the tee's really size? Can it be sent when I'm in China?Does it cost any extra transportation fee? How does it look? It charges $30 (i think) if your out of US instead of the $20 it charges in the US, you will still get a tshirt, i'm not sure if its changed but it was an awesome as fuck one, and the size is Large if i remember right, though its only in one size (i think, its been a few months since i renewed) 5.I'm gonna go to the U.S. this summer, where can I find Green Day Store in The U.S.?? I dunno about this one, since i'm in England xD
Mary711 Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 For the renewal t-shirts, you can decide which size you want, but keep in mind that they're very big this year. It's still the AAF one with the album artwork on it.

When you join for the first time you just pay $20 and don't get a t-shirt, so the OP wouldn't get one if they joined.

Mary711 Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I got one when i joined. Actually i received two xD Well, you've been lucky then Normally you receive your shirt after one year when you're renewing your membership.
Hermione Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I got one when i joined. Actually i received two xD Oh OK . That's weird, everyone always says it's only for renewals. Do all new members get t-shirts then?
Mary711 Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Oh OK . That's weird, everyone always says it's only for renewals. Do all new members get t-shirts then? No, that was a mistake then. Usually after one year as you said before
Hermione Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 No, that was a mistake then. Usually after one year as you said before Ahh right. Obviously it doesn't affect me in any way haha, just asking for the OP's sake.
GreenDay07. Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 The early entry contest on the IC was only for the European summer shows, not for the US. Oh hey that makes much more sense. Stupid moment.. Haha thank you.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 but the occasional contests and presales make it well worth the $$ to me. That's my problem with the IC, the contests and presales are the only things that make it worth it, but in the one year I've been a member at least half the contests were US only (and it's not to say that there were a lot of contests), and all the other presale/early entry types of things were only for other (bigger, more important) countries.

I wouldn't mind all that if there was some kind of indication of it on the sign-up page. But year after year they still claim on that page that $20 gets you "exclusive video and audio" and "periodic contests and random giveaways" with no indication that the first doesn't exist and the second is nearly always only for the US. They could easily make the sign-up page more honest but they choose to deliberately mislead people in order to con them out of their money instead. That's why I dislike the IC.

Totally agree, well they get the exclusive video and audio from here or the internet, I have never got anything "exclusive" media wise from that site and like you say, all the contests are american, However I did get one of the places to one of their sound checks. I think on the whole it is very unfair to non americans in general and not worth the money, when you have this place.

Luckily when they do you hear about it on gd.com and on here so you can wait and join then instead of wasting your money on joining before there's any guarantee there'll be anything for you. I just feel bad for people (mostly kids I'd imagine) who join based on what's written on that page and then get disappointed.
Shadowiegirl Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Yeah they definitely do have things that are worth joining for sometimes. "Sometimes is the point" - I am not a member at the moment and won't be till the next pre-sale ticket tours make it worth my while to be a member. Still an expensive way to get tickets but would do so next tour around because we got great tickets.

Taking that amount of stress away from buying tickets make it well worth it for me haha, and the small chance of winning early entry and stuff is pretty good too. It's honest about presales on the sign-up page saying it's "where applicable", if the rest of it was as honest as that it'd be much better.
Willa Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 need a help I register ... when it asks for the following: "Enter coupon code" what would be the coupon ? the credit card number ? sorry, because I'm from Brazil and do not understand how this works.

I was told by the admin a while back that ArtistArenas lawyers are working to make the contests open to everybody. whether they need a special licence or something to do that I dont have a clue. you would have thought it was an easy thing to do but apparently not. we had a contest before AA took over that was for everybody but that was kind of privately done by the band and not really advertised.

It's great that they're trying, I don't blame them for the difficulties they have in sorting out getting contests for everyone. I only blame them for being misleading about it on the sign-up page.
Ally Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 No, that was a mistake then. Usually after one year as you said before Once again the IC fuck up xD
becky1995 Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 As someone else mentioned a bit ago, I also got a t-shirt when I joined, as I haven't been a member long enough to re-new yet, and then a couple of weeks later I got another one. Although the second one was after they announced the new ones, so I dunno if they were getting rid of leftovers :L And they need to specify when the contest are for everyone, if you start to enter and then you find out you can't enter it's annoying :/
Mary711 Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 There are some problems with the t-shirts, but I have to say that mine arrived only 3 weeks after renewing my account and in the right size
