Red Lights Flash Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I usually like studio better. The demo for 21stCB.. The vocals sound a bit better, more raw and live, but I'm glad they replaced the piano intro. These chords on the final intro just sound so epic, especially live.
Hedwig Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I actually dislike the piano intro on the 21st CB demo. Or I mean, it's good, but it's better without it...
Stormy Haze Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 When I started liking Green Day, I downloaded the demo of 21st Century Breakdown and I actually thought it was the studio version because it was really good! Later, when I bought the album, I was like "....what ". I guess I like the demo more because I got used to it first.
TheBasketcase Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 I actually dislike the piano intro on the 21st CB demo. Or I mean, it's good, but it's better without it... Ya It Is Kinda weird Anyone hear the Basket case demo that a half step higher?
Tubbie Head Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 21st Century breakdown I was pretty bummed out that they took out the piano intro. Me too I'm just happy we had access to that version I wish some other demos would end up online, imagine how many amazing versions of songs there are!
green day is Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Is a month too long to revive a thread? Oh well. The version of JAR where he says "JAR" in the beginning, 21CBD, Longview, Welcome to Paradise, and Don't Wanna Fall In Love. I'd also like to point out that, although there's no studio version, Walking the Dog is fucking awesome.
Hermione Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 I'd also like to point out that, although there's no studio version, Walking the Dog is fucking awesome. Oh my god yes! Such an odd choice of cover and I love it
HitmonSal Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Deffo the 21CB demo! Remember listening to it religiously before the album came out
stuart telegraph Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 I've edited my 21st Century breakdown using audacity. I put the piano intro from the demo together with the studio version. I also cut the acoustic guitar intro from it. It sounds awesome. I had to amplify the piano intro quite a bit to make it sound right. How cool is that, I did the same excact thing with audacity.

Kristen M Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 The piano version to 21CB is great but in my opinion it be an awful way to start off their live shows
Moyeszet Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Christie Road, way better on the AAF version than the studio one
Ashley! Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 I'd also like to point out that, although there's no studio version, Walking the Dog is fucking awesome. I concure walking the dog is on of my favorite songs.
green day is Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Christie Road, way better on the AAF version than the studio one That's not what a demo is. You got me all excited, thinking you had a Christie Road demo.

[/quote] Oh, yeah, I forgot. You are allowed to post just the intro, though. Crop it out from the rest. The demo isn't copyrighted, though. Just thought I'd correct you on that.
