Red Lights Flash Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 You knew by heart? That's impressive! I was thinking of Whatsername at Hammersmith Apollo, but an other guitar failed there.
DecanoLP Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 The fact that he plays the majority of the old stuff with "Blue", makes it cooler
Alan86 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 You knew by heart? That's impressive! I was thinking of Whatsername at Hammersmith Apollo, but an other guitar failed there. Yeah I knew that during " when I come around " in Bochum 04 he asked for Floyd, I'm sure it's not the only time it's happened.
Webb_2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 As much as I love Floyd and want to buy a replica of it, I'll have to go with Blue. I just feel Blue is very symbolic to Green Day. As soon as you see it, you know exactly who it belongs to.
Kristen M Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I found this really difficult but Blue is just too awesome
Annie, get your gun Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Blue. I think this paticular guitar has more special meaning than the others. It's very symbolic for the band, and it look and sound great.
Jack Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 I was under the impression that the original Blue fell apart and he only has replicas now..... I would expect as much. The way he plays guitar and smashes them about is going to add some serious wear and tear..... ... But what do i know? I think thats what everyone thought, because he used replicas on the AI tour. But during the 21CB tour, he used the original quite a bit
DestinedIdiot Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Blue because it's been with Billie ever since he started playing music, so it has a lot of emotional value for him, plus, I love all the stickers and such decorations on Blue, because I think it makes the guitar that much more unique and that much more awesome than any other of Billie Joe's guitars. Along with the white one with the Adeline logo on it. That one's my all-time favorite of Billie Joe's guitars.
Mommy's Little Nightmare Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I love Floyd, but Blue is the classic. Blue is the guitar that I've seen him with the most, and it's undeniably recognizable. Generally, people know Floyd NOW, but we've always known Blue.
Mommy's Little Nightmare Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 It´s a guitar. Yes, they're both guitars. What's your point?
Jack Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 It´s a guitar. I hope you arent trying to say that it doesnt matter because theyre guitars.....without guitars, Green Day wouldnt be Green Day, so choose your comments wisely. There are a lot of guitarist and musicians on this forum, me included, so please be careful

jamesobxfan2296 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I really like both to be honest. I like Blue for its looks and Floyd for its sound.
Pedestrian9394 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Is it weird that I don't really have an opinion? I think they both have their purposes and couldn't do each other's jobs, you know? Blue couldn't have worked for songs on AI and 21CBD, but is perfect for more raw sounds. So I'm not really sure if I feel more towards one than the other. Except for the fact that I think Blue is more awesome looking. xD
Sweet Armataged Chump Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I simply love the fact that billie has the same guitar since he was 10 years old so I voted Blue! 11 years old
Broken_Tune Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I like the name Floyd And that is my reasoning for this pole.
StuckWithRob Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Blue is the best! There's something special about your first guitar and I love the fact that Billie Joe still uses his. If you were to think of a 'classic' Green Day then there would have to be Blue in it. Floyd is good but when he first brings Blue out in a concert everyone goes crazy and he hasn't even played anything yet!
I_am_minority Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I reckon Floyd has a better sound (most gibsons do), but Blue is just so...Billie, its the classic and nothing compares
beejeezee Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I love Floyd, it's a beautiful guitar but I gotta go with Blue
