Trina Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Thank you so very much for sharing. Wow. Haha, I'm crying now.
norcalgreendayfan Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 That's so awesome I would hope to be able to meet them one day, thats unfortunate you didn't get a picture with them but I completely understand why since they were there in a parental role to support Joey and his bandmates and didnt want to take anything anyway from what should be about a night for Emilys Army.
Underbelly Posted June 13, 2011 Author Posted June 13, 2011 Aw, that's the coolest thing ever. It was really nice of you to be so polite and understanding about the picture thing. I think I probably would have been the same way if it was my kid releasing his first album. And you do have a really amazing friend, by the way. I would have been terrified to just walk up and talk to them. xD

Underbelly Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 I'm not sure what i did on the previous post.... sorry. Anyway, that is the utter beauty of it- I would NEVER have had the balls to walk up to Billie and start talking to him. I was just casually standing against the wall listening to the first band and chatting with my friend, and he just all casual comes and stands next to me. RIGHT FREAKING NEXT TO ME!!! He was so close the back of his jacket was touching my sleeve, cos it was really crowded. I looked at his back, looked at my friend, looked back at him, and my mouth just dropped open. ( i was so glad his back was turned, i would have looked like a complete idiot) I think it really says something that I am such a freak that I knew it was him just by his shoulder and the back of his head. . I put down my beer cos my hands were shaking so hard, and gently tapped him on the shoulder. I will never forget the moment he turned around and it was really him. Mind-blowing. Adrienne i was nervous about talking to, but not completely intimidated. We have a lot in common-we are both moms of teenagers, knitters, midwestern girls who moved to northern CA and married amazing green-eyed dark-haired boys and had babies with them pretty young. I feel like I can really relate to her, even more after talking with her. She is amazing.

Did you say anything else to him? I always think that's really awesome when you get to see the "human" side of famous people. Everyone always sees them as being part of another world, but when you have things in common like that, you realize they're walking on the same planet.
winks29 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Thank you for sharing this story. And I echo almost all your thoughts (don't have any kids) as GD have been there for me for all the good and bad times in my life for the last 18 years. You are one of the lucky few and I'm sure you will treasure those memories forever.
tunisia wants greenday Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 thank you for sharing your story with us , u know age doesn't matter really ^^ you are so lucky because you had the chance to meet them , they are really nice people , i wish i was in your place , getting to meet them , or go to one of their show ! that won't exist
Disapperingirl Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Thank you. You told Billie Joe the easier but the most truthful thing you could say. I want to thank you too, for sharing those moments and for telling those awesome people just what I would have told them... Probably I will never meet them- I live in Italy, I'm only sixteen- but with your words you made me feel a bit closer to them..! Thank you for writing those words, because you explained what most of the people around me can't understand: that Billie, Mike, Tre and their families aren't famous people who don't want to meet their fans...thta they're extraordinary in their semplicity..that they changed our lives, and they support us every day... Reading what you wrote, and HOW you wrote that, you must be such a nice person, a strong woman, a sweet mother and wife just like Adrienne must be. So I'm happy that a person like you had the chance to talk with my heroes, I'd like to think that you told Billie thank you and talked to Adrienne also from me and the other fans all over the world.
jamesobxfan2296 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Thanks for sharing this story!!! Very great job writing it. Maybe one day I'll get lucky and be able to meet Billie Joe.
-Billiejoezee- Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Aww I met adrienne that night too! Not billie though. Lucky you spoke to him!!! I was way in the front when I saw him in the back.
secondGuessMe Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I think it's awesome that you shared your story. I was there also and I just love how you summed up the night pretty well.
kcgrl1124 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 not gonna lie, your post made me tear up. billie and adrienne just seem like they'd be the nicest people and i'm really glad you seized the day and got the courage to talk to them!
MichaelTheSalmonFish Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I swear to god, this almost made me cry. A girl in my year met Billie Joe after the concert I couldn't go to. You are the luckiest woman in the world! Also, I loved all that stuff you wrote about what you have to be thankful for, I really did! I can relate to some of it and if I can relate to the rest of it in the future, I will be ecstatic.
Underbelly Posted June 18, 2011 Author Posted June 18, 2011 I love the Armstrongs. I love Green Day. i love my family. And Green Day Authority community- I love you. I really do! Wow! Thanks everyone who read this and put it in the top five this week- I am just all gushy over it. And it's a week later- and I am still smiling like crazy over it. I think everyone I know is ready to smack me for being so happy all week.

Yes really well written. I could imagine it like a movie ^ ^ It really touched me, how important Billie and Adrienne and Green Day can be. And the photo thing reflects the fact that they are not like any other bands or artists. They are true, honest and have great values : ) I almost cried when i read what it really meant for you to say ''thank you''..
