Hermione Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 just uploaded my Shout video from Wembley, which I had forgotten about. It's got Glen and Rebecca in it I thoroughly enjoy hearing us all starting up the 'MIKE, MIKE' chants Oh my god thanks for this! Love being able to see the beginning so well and the chanting is brilliant . Shame Jason didn't do it but I enjoy the fact that Billie was amused by the suggestion, and I guess that's what gave them the idea for future shows too.
farley drexel hatcher Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Squeezed in the queue with Lorraine this time a year ago And the awesome sign my sister and I made haha Awww I know i'm late but i've only just seen this thread; can't believe this was a year ago already! I can't believe how cold it was and how cramped we all were and my niece to this day still goes on about how we didn't even need to line up since her ticket ended up being in the seats XD and god what a fiasco that was, I don't think i've ever run so fast and so far in my life, I was literally tearing the envelope apart as I ran and that's when I found out they were seats and I had to decide what I was going to do. It was fun seeing the show in a comfortable setting but I do miss not being down in the standing with everyone else. At the time it honesly didn't matter though, awesome show. Gah they need to come back already XD

I'm glad we were both there to witness it even if we watched it from different places. And you did get to see the McFly boys too which is a bonus .
sara_gd Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 very proud of this photo STEAL IT AND DIE. THE BEST PHOTO IN THE HISTORY OF PHOTOS. I have a few photos really similar to those 2! I think that's you taking the photo at the same time Cropped: Billie's face
pasalaska Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 oooh yeah! heh, they're almost exactly the same timing-wise
bat-chen Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Cropped: http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/5284/croppeddscn8270.jpg Billie's face What hapeend that make Billie Joe to make this face?
Silent Duck Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Can't believe it's been a year already. Was a great gig, I wasn't near the front so it was nice to be able to relax at a gig without being thrown around the place every few minutes. I found it strange that Joan Jett was the opening act at Marlay, I suppose Paramore are a bigger draw then her these days. We arrived late to the gig so we didn't get to see Joan Jett, almost peed in my pants on the bus ride over, don't know if it was the excitement or all the drink I had before I got on. I remember getting there and bursting into a fit of laughter when I saw Hayley Williams constantly spinning her head round in circles on the spot, then moving to the other side of the stage and doing the same thing. Green Day were amazing as usual, the setlist wasn't anything special or anything but it was a great performance. Caught one of the t-shirts he shot out of his cannon, gives you an idea of how far back we were. I gave it a little child beside me though because he wouldn't stop crying that he missed it. The rain starting to fall during Wake me up when September ends was the highlight of the two shows I went to, everyone was getting misty eyed when it happened. Such a special moment.
Jaymee!! Posted June 23, 2011 Author Posted June 23, 2011 Aw, that was nice of you to give the kid the shirt! It was my first and only time on Jason's side...it was pretty good, but I don't think I'd go there again. Absolutely NO ONE in the early entry went to the end of the catwalk, I don't know why, but I had a big urge to go run and claim my spot right in the middle. The Paramore fans were hilarious...there were a group of 3-4 girls standing behind me and one of them called their friends to say that Hayley had just smiled at her, and she was having conniptions. And they said that they were going to claw Becki and I off the barrier to get closer to her and how they were going to destroy everyone with their moshing. They disappeared by the time 21st CB was over

They disappeared by the time 21st CB was over That explains why we were suddenly surrounded by Paramore fans about 20 minutes after Green Day came on stage. Clearly they must have destroyed everyone with their moshing skillz, thought to themselves "Our work here is done" and left the pit soon after.
pasalaska Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 ahhhh, this time last year, we'd have been blissfully unaware of the horrendous next 24 hours at dublin airport. good times.
colour_me_stupid_ Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Did they play At The Library at that soundcheck?? I don't remember that! Literally just the first few chords, and then stopped Such teases.. That's mad that you don't remember though! I remember getting there and bursting into a fit of laughter when I saw Hayley Williams constantly spinning her head round in circles on the spot, then moving to the other side of the stage and doing the same thing. I remember when Paramore were playing their first song, I honestly didn't know whether to laugh at that ginger wannabe eejit (She wishes she had hair my colour ) thinking she was such a great rockstar, or cry at their shitness. I decided to kinda take a nap xD That was so sound of you to give the kid the t shirt Damn, I forgot to quote the post, but Aska, could you possibly post your video of Shout (?) from Wembley that you said Glen and I are in, again? I don't know if I've seen it or not And I have no idea where it is in this thread.. Pleease?

colour_me_stupid_ Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 ^ Thanks That's deadly! I'd forgotten all about the big happy face on Billie when he was playing drums
Comedy & Tragedy Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 What can I say? It sucks not being at home today. I don't know if it feels longer or shorter, but I can't believe it's been a year. Simply the best day of my life. End of. Just think, lads, it's one year less we have to wait for them to come back (and today I went past a shop that sold Guinness hats. That's just cruel ) And I might as well:
Alan86 Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I still remember my initial reaction when green day came out on stage at Marlay Park. I saw that red shirt and thought "wow that's different" Awesome show though, there is something a bit more special when you see green day play in your own country. Loved every second of this show, Minority - Good Riddance was just epic.
mitzymoo Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Ahh Marlay cant believe it has been a year since, I loved this show. That morning getting there was a nightmare, I somehow found my way to a field where there was about five or so other people just sitting around and a security guard, I had just sat down when he said see that big crowd of people if you dont hurry up and get in them barriers they will all be in front of you, we all ran in. I knew well that crowd of people were the ones who camped and came early but I ended up being at the front of the queue. For the concert I was on Jasons side for it on barrier surrounded by Paramore fans who at every Green Day song that they played kept asking whats this song. Was great to see GDC'ers on stage and Billie wearing my flag I had a major fan girl moment the minute I seen the red shirt That was very nice of you to give the kid the shirt Did you see what was on the shirt by any chance?
Silent Duck Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I remember when Paramore were playing their first song, I honestly didn't know whether to laugh at that ginger wannabe eejit (She wishes she had hair my colour ) thinking she was such a great rockstar, or cry at their shitness. I decided to kinda take a nap xD Ginger wannabe eejit  I was surprised by how shit they were to be honest, you could tell the two yobbos didn't want to be there. That was very nice of you to give the kid the shirt Did you see what was on the shirt by any chance? I'm a gentleman! I think it was the t-shirt with all the tour dates on the back of it. The t-shirt was actually bigger than the little girl, she'll grow into it in about 10 years. I'll track her down and get it back off her then.
bollard_11 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 I was not particularly fond of the Dublin show. That chaos getting in totally ruined it for me especially after queuing out so long But that being said great show as always from Green Day, here's a few memorable pics Matching outfits Ronan Keating and Beej Sexy Awesome Wow EDIT: Anyone takes my photos without permission, I will tear your balls off, even if your a female
Anja Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 This has turned into a Marlay thread. Can't. Accept. That. Anyone remember the fence breaking and Sven falling off of it in Mainz? Any anyone remember the lovely chicken hat I later gave to Billie? I kinda miss it.
bollard_11 Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 This has turned into a Marlay thread. Can't. Accept. That. Sorry I'm done anyway I swear, I just posted it cause I wasn't near a computer yesterday
greendepent Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 OMG, this is the most beautiful photo that I ever seen in my life , can I get a hi res version of this? Well, I have nothing more to do here, since I saw them in october, but anyway, this was the best european tour that Green Day ever did, specially the last gigs. 3 hours shows, a lot of rarities, words are useless to explain this...
colour_me_stupid_ Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Ginger wannabe eejit  I was surprised by how shit they were to be honest, you could tell the two yobbos didn't want to be there. Honestly though, her natural hair colour is disgusting (Which I only know cause glen has a pic of her from his bad days )
