lol we were both at B/C! You were just a little bit behind me. I think we were all too focused on how cold we were and the massive lineups to the bathroom

You were in the special front bit haha! Where I was we were packed in like sardines and they kept on moving us so we couldn't be out of the queue for long or we risked losing our place. VERY true about the cold though! I wasn't prepared for the weather at all. When we were going into the stadium my sister had to hold me up and pull me along because I was shivering so much

Oh god at Wembley when they herded us into those little boxes and we could hardly move, it was horrendous

I'm gonna wait till the 19th to post everything else because if I start thinking about it now I'll just start bawling.

Heh, another reason I'm glad we were in the front section. The freedom! But also the intensely scaring pushing that happened as soon as they let us just run to the gates. Slight trample-fear kicked in at that moment.

Posted

Yeah there was so much pushing when they opened the gates, they threatened to stop letting people in if they didn't stop pushing. At that point I was thinking I wouldn't get in for ages and would be stuck at the back. But I got golden circle anyway

Around this time last year, I wished that I lived/was in the UK, so I would be able to go to Wembley and I was listening to Static Noise.

My memories of my shows, are for August. :P

June 16th 2010 was quite possibly the best day of my life!

From getting up ridiculously early, to meeting my best friends, to getting the train, to endless walking to find the place we were staying, to the waiting and waiting and waiting...and then the moment arrived! When they ran onstage i just felt like i was dreaming! That day was so emotional, actually cried (first time i have ever cried at a show)

Even my best friend who is not particularly a massive GD fan said it was the best gig he has ever been to!

Will never EVER forget it!

Gaaaahhhhh I just had a memory-gasm. Wembley was just so amazing with all the people there just to see green day! It was just the best thing ever! I remember Billie yelling "this is gonna be the best rock and roll show you will ever see at wembley stadium!" he was so right. It was amazing. Everyone going crazy when a rare song came up, the older woman next to me laughing her head off when tre did the cancan for the fourth time because I yelled "HE JUST GETS SEXYER EVERY TIME!"

Btw I am a rookie at gigs really how do you get to go In the separated part at the front??

Reading your post made me excited :woot:, it really was so great. I loved King For A Day/Shout, it was SO cool and funny when we chanted for Mike to do it after Tre and he actually did it!

As far as getting in the separated part at the front, you get there early! There were a few (crazy :D) people who camped over night so they could get on the barrier, but I queued from 8am and was a couple of rows from the front. I think anyone who started queuing before about 1pm/2pm would've got in there. The Idiot Club also had an early entry contest where you got let in before everyone else, but that was only for like 25 people. So yeah basically you get there as early as you can.

I had a really surreal memory earlier when I was sitting in my backyard and thinking about the Wembley show. I could suddenly feel the steel of the floor beneath my feet, and I felt like I was in the huge wide stadium again. I knew exactly what it felt like to stand in that huge arena, and to have everyone around me all excited and buzzing before any of the bands came on. It was very vivid...very sad. I've never had that sort of memory before with any show I've been to.

I think I was either flying or just arrived in Manchester a year ago today.

the stupid immigration lady at Manchester airport... I wish I could go back. start of the best times of my life.

At this time last year, I was anticipating one of the most memorables days of my life: August 21st, 2010

This time last year we were already in the queue for the Manchester show

This time a year ago Becki and I were packing and repacking for Manchester, getting Hannah's pillow Beffy all set for travel...I'm sure I was super stressed and anxious just to see them again. Tomorrow, it'll be my first actual GDC meet up!

I went to three Green Day shows in June, making it the best month of my life. It was a bit stressful, three shows in two weeks, in three different countries and it obviously got pretty expensive. But it was so worth it!

Gothenburg, a few hours busdrive and I dragged my brother along. Such a hot day! I passed out after the show... :whistle

Munich with mum, it was even hotter that day. Got a great spot near the catwalk and the evening was perfect. Met two awesome Brazilian fans. I was so worried about this trip, bringing my mum and all, but we had such a great time.

London, Wembley was just epic, the best I've ever seen Green Day. That whole weekend in London with my brother was amazing. Not everything went perfect, but it was an incredible experience. Camped outside, nearly froze to death, but met cool GDCers and saw two awesome shows.

Life was good a year ago...

May 29th Appreciation

Best day of my life so far, together with the other Green Day show I went to.

It was just SO. AWESOME. Everything of it. I think about it a lot. So.. the week of that concert I had my final exams. I remember making my English exam on Friday, while all I could think of was: "I'm going to see Green Day live tomorrow, oh my god". And the waiting and everything was so worth it. Loved it all. Memories..

And I think I stayed up every night for the tour threads here on GDC, so this time last year I was excited (as always) just about the fact there's going to be another Green Day show soon, and I couldn't wait to read updates, read about the setlist, and see pictures and videos.

I miss it. I really want to go to more than one show on their next tour!

Ahhh I remember all of us walking away to go grab dinner, and we were stopped because we suddenly heard the soundcheck. And then we spent about 15 minutes trying to figure out what song Android was

This day a year ago, I also met the majority of the people I would later continue to tour with to various different shows. Most importantly, I met the majority of the Australians for the first time. Some of whom I would consider my closest friends, and now one who is going to be my room mate in less than 3 months. I had my first real GDC meet up today. I heard Green Day play for the first time in 11 months. I had my first drink in a pub (where we played nothing but Green Day on the track selector). A year ago today was an amazing day. We celebrated Silje's birthday in an 'American' restaurant. The whole day was just wonderful...I can remember everything perfectly

...Man. That moment when everything just fades and you have a little sob over reminiscing all the wonderful things.

I'm literally just out the first pic and I can see my best mate in the second two ! How bizarre.

I can't believe it's exactly a year since we were walking along and suddenly this voice starts booming out the stadium.., wish we'd heard the 'new' songs but nevermind, those 2 days were magical.

This is just the most completely bizarre thing in the world ever. But amazing. I don't miss the barwoman looking at me liked I'd asked for a kidney when I wanted some ice in my vodka though.

I think I've only met about 5 (ish) people on here.
