Velocity Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 That one has been there for a while now That really shows how little I actually go on there
netty Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 the official site might not be the best (fuck knows I`ve said it enough times personally and pushed for more things on there) but its still the site we have to look to for official tour/record news. well, there and by bugging various people connected with the band. if the revamp is nothing more than a change of colours I wont be surprised. I still live in hope though that they will finally make proper use of the site.
farley drexel hatcher Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 This is sort of off topic but does anyone know the plugin to get photos from greenday.com in slightly higher res? I know someone on here used to do it. There's one picture I really want, specially if there's a chance they might take them down if they're revamping.
jtdscape Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 This is sort of off topic but does anyone know the plugin to get photos from greenday.com in slightly higher res? I know someone on here used to do it. There's one picture I really want, specially if there's a chance they might take them down if they're revamping. Have you looked for it in the GDA picture vault? I am pretty sure I put most of them from the past tour in there.

Nah, i've just looked but the one I wanted was from the second London 02 show in 2009; it was a crowd shot of people on the barrier
Fuzz Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 do we know when we'll get the new theme? No specific date has been set. Just "soon", and I think netty mentioned sometime in the next couple weeks or something.

There is one photo from 09 that is really special to me and if i can get that in better quality before its too late i would be very happy. It's not in the pic fault. I will see if i can find what plug in.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I don't really like it tbh. They're really late with now launching an AAF lay-out, but I don't really like the look of it anyway. It just looks really empty and like something's missing. It doesn't look bad, but it's not the best. The only good thing is that they got rid of that annoying splash page, now it's just a pop-up, which is far less annoying.
pasalaska Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 excellent, the tour photos are still there. And Yanice and Tony are on the first page of photos in a thumbnail picture! first impressions are good so far - it's not all annoying flash and it seems easy to navigate, and the news is laid out so much better. Not sure if I agree with the blandness of the background though... this under 'tour' made me laugh: "These are dates for the Broadway show and are not Green Day performances."
Nele Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Oh I like it. Though I'm a little surprised about the late update, AAF came out weeks ago, but whatever, I still like it. edit: And I totally freaked out when I read there were going to be upcoming dates until I realized they were for the musical.
Punk-tastic32 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Meh. I'm not too impressed. I don't really like white backgrounds because I can't turn the brightness down on my computer and it kills my eyes in the dark. And it seems really empty. GDA is still better.
Hermione Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Looks OK to me. Aside from it being white which would hurt my eyes if I actually had any reason to read anything on there.
oda Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I guess it's alright. It's not like i'm going to go there a lot anyways
petros Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Well it's just ok for me. And of course it will never be half as good as GDA
farley drexel hatcher Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Is it just me who can't find the tour photos from London 2009? Also bit disapointed they didn't manage to get Bob Gruen's photos a bit bigger, when I saw the album I thought they might have done.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Oooooooh you can finally save the pictures now I am excited about that, it always annoyed me how you couldn't save the pictures on the official site unless you screencapped them or had some fancy trick (read: add-on) I didn't know about
Angela. Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I guess Pittsburgh wasn't a good enough concert for photos to be put up for, thanks. Oh well. Other than that, the site's not bad. I like it.
jenni Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Cool, even if the white hurts the eyes a little as you guys said Is it just me who can't find the tour photos from London 2009? No, you're not. It seems like I can't find a lot of photos
jon18 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Cool, even if the white hurts the eyes a little as you guys said No, you're not. It seems like I can't find a lot of photos All photos from the first european tour are missing.
Undómiel Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I was excited when I heard about the new GD.com and now it feels like an anti-climax.... thought it was gonna be something really new. Not just AAF.
jon18 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 it's much better than it was before It's not difficult
gloria123 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 the new site is ok, it's nothing amazing...i never go on it anyway because i find it annoying i'll still stick with GDA for my green day news
