rocklover92 Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 The guitar solo in Viva La Gloria (Little Girl) which gives me the chills.
Karma_With_A_Catch Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 When I hear the Dearly Beloved part of JOS. I always close my eyes during that part and just soak in the feeling of Billie's voice. Also when the Whatsername and Give Me Novocaine solos start. Also with Whatsername, when he says, "And in the darkest night, If my memory serves me right," I just breakdown!!!!!!!!! And don't get me started on Letterbomb. That whole song gives me the chills, especially when he says, "YOU'RE NOT THE JESUS OF SUBURBIA! THE ST. JIMMY IS A FIGMENT OF YOUR FATHER'S RAGE AND YOUR MOTHER'S LOVE MADE ME THE IDIOT OF AMERICA!" ...I can feel it right now. My last ones (I have, like, a thousand more moments...lol) are in Wake Me Up When September Ends when he says, "Summer has come and passed," and his voice kinda jumps on passed (you know what I'm talking about); the beginning of Haushinka; and when he yells "BROTHERS AND SISTERS!" in Holiday live. Like I said, I have sooooo many more moments.

Doris The Spider Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 All most all of Jesus of Suburbia. The instrumental part at the end of BOBD Are We The Waiting The end part towards the end of St. Jimmy were the song kind of changes. aka right before he says "My name is Saint Jimmy I'm a son of a gun" That scream thing Billie does in Letterbomb The drums at the beginning of Armatage Shanks The beginning of Panic Song The end of Brain Stew All of 21st Century Breakdown "Whiskey shots and cheap cigarettes!" Horseshoes and Handgrenades See The Light And probably others I missed.
Nele Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 On Awesome As Fuck right at the beginning when the crowd starts to go wild. Brings back so many great memeories. I know it's not exactly in one of their songs but whetever.
Lauralovesgreenday Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 oh wow! loved reading other peoples a few of mine are: - stuart and the ave. when billie says - i may be dumb, but i'm not stupid enough to stay with you. - waiting - after the chorus when it goes quiet apart from billie and his guitar - 80 - the whole chorus! - when i come around - when the bass comes in and when billie says - you cant go forcing something if it's just not right. - 21 guns - AAF version in the piano break.
Zelda Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Just reading through this thread gives me the chills. It's amazing how Billie is able to put so much emotion into each and every song. It truly is.
Pedestrian9394 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 oh wow! loved reading other peoples a few of mine are: - stuart and the ave. when billie says - i may be dumb, but i'm not stupid enough to stay with you. Ohhhhh my god, one of my favorite song quotes.
Underbelly Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 "I'm so much closer than I have ever known" in Waiting. Every. Time. That song is on my alarm, 4:45 every morning i wake up and my heart swells listening to that line.
Underbelly Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Phew. Pick one? Impossible- but here are some: All of "Church on Sunday", but especially "If you live with me, I'll die for you and this compromise. I hereby solemnly swear to tell the whole truth/ And nothing but the truth is all I'll ever get from you now/Trust is a dirty word thet comes from such a liar/ but respect is something i will earn if you have faith" Because its 17 years later and he obviously meant every fucking word straight from his heart. All of "Are we the waiting"- just remembering that the first time i saw them live almost makes me cry. All of "Blood Sex and Booze" and "Horseshoes and Handgrenades", but especially "I'm gonna drink, fight and fuck/ and I'm pushin my luck all the time now." just make me a little lot...um...excitable. the first verse of "Brain Stew", the whole thing really, reminds me while the good ol'days really weren't. All of "Disappearing Boy" and "Who Wrote Holden Caulfield" make me want to hug the sad little boy at the time who wrote them and let him know it will all be ok, the whole world will love him someday. Cigarettes and Valentines makes my heart hurt and swell up all lovey. "You are the moonight of my night every night". just kills me. Every time. And "Another State of Mind" "I'm in another state/another state of mind/ Her voice sends shivers down my spine" Pretty much any song for me but one song I can really think of now is "I feel lonely for all the losers that will never take the time to say what was really on there mind instead they just hide away" from When Its Time. Because it's true. Especially when your dating and all the people you didn't like or didn't like you you feel like saying your loss. Theres a few others but I cant think of them right now. Actually a lot of there songs give me chills and have a very good point to them Oh! I forgot this one!!! Me too! "Cos the first day you came into my life, My time ticks around you...." OH! I get all squidgy. The first time i heard that was watching Mike's wedding video on youtube, and i got all silly and weepy like i always do at weddings. It was awesome.
LauraG Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 All of "Disappearing Boy" and "Who Wrote Holden Caulfield" make me want to hug the sad little boy at the time who wrote them and let him know it will all be ok, the whole world will love him someday. Nice one!

OldWhatsHisFace Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Have you ever listened to the Live E.P. of 21 Guns? When they do Brain Stew it just gives me the chills, and after that, in Jaded, when Billie Joe does the guitar solo! <3 Omh! And ESPECIALLY the saxophone solo in The Static Age on Awesome As Fuck. So mostly live stuff..
StuckWithRob Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Have there ever been a point in any Green Day song that every time you listen to it, it gives you that chill that you feel down your spine? One in particular that I can name off the top of my head is during "Restless Heart Syndrome" when he sang the line "You are your own worst enemy/Know your enemy". It immediately gave me chills the way he referenced the actual song, "Know Your Enemy". Any similar feelings? Yeah that bit always gives me a strange feeling even though I don't really like the song that much... The ultimate 'chill' for me in Green Day is the scream in 'She'. Epic!
GreenDay07. Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 the last bit of Whatsername cuz its such a perfect ending to the album. the piano bit in Tales From Another Broken Home of JOS and the part following that (actually pretty much all of JOS) also Redundant. the entire song. i guess im a sap for the emotional points YES! Exactly what I was going to say...

Misery's instrumental break Letterbomb's intro and last part Worry Rock.. Hitchin' a Ride's last part (Goooing nooowhere/Hitchin' a Ride) Armatage Shanks and 86's epic drum parts Panic Song "And it seems so frightening" part in Android Holiday's solo and chorus "the world is spinning around out of control again, from the 7-11 to the fear of breaking down" in Homecoming Minority's 2nd "one light, one mid...." Going to Pasalacqua's chorus in Foot In Mouth And many more.....
HitmonSal Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 The 'We are Alive' In BOBD on AAF and 'Whats the lastest way a man can die screaming hallelujah?' in Static Age
Mrs. Nobody Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Rapid part in letterbomb The chords at the beginning of 21 guns <3 Pretty much the whole Whatsername song And since Wembley, the bass part in Holiday gives me chills because there was a very eery atmos. I could have been the only one who felt that way, but there was a slight breeze and the screens were showing writing in red, and another one had soldiers marching. Idk I could be mad but I felt that that was a very 'powerful' performance
Gwen Stacy Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 The end of JAR in the Dookie Demos. Billie laugh is just... haunting. Cue shivers.
Anja Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 The acapella part during "Letterbomb" (live version from AAF)
Psycho Britney Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Ohh lots. But one off the top of my head is in JOS. The lines "there's nothing wrong with me/this is how I'm supposed to be" gets me every time. Especially when you hear it live, and everyone is singing it and GD are singing. It's kind of like a validation.
