I can't see it D;

Anyone wanna give short summary of the speech?

^ I've got the same problem. =/ If anyone could give a gist of the speech, that'd be great.

i'll give ya word-for-word

"Often I've wondered, what does it for this to happen? My name is Billie Joe Armstrong. I'm sorry I can't take a break from counting my many bushel baskets of money. *audience laughs* I'll try to find one tiny spot on my mantle that isn't already covered by my hundreds of thousands of awards, but I would like to thank all of you people in the dark(?). And I would like to thank our lord, Jesus Christ. THANK YOU GOD, THANK MAH GAWD. You make things possible! And everyone at William Morrison Dever(?), who also makes things possible! But most of all, I'm glad I'm not Jackie Hoffman..HEY! *looks around*"

I thought that part about "I'm glad I'm not Jackie Hoffman" was dead on. After all the mean things being said about her right now for that speech... it is not surprising that he would be glad he is not her.

Thank you God! lol

I find it so completely stupid when the people who accept the awards thank god. And almost everyone does, that's just another fail because Billie doesn't

I don't see why everybody was laughing. that wasn't funny at all.

Exactly.

:pinch:

...the fuck was that?

I was hoping to see an awkward yet adorable Billie speech.

it wasnt funny but was in a way because Billie wouldnt say any of that and we know he doesnt sit around counting his money. it wasnt done to be offensive towards Billie and wasnt done to kiss his arse. I think that maybe fans expect everybody to just sing the guys praises all the time and kiss his arse or just slag him off. she did a horrible parody of Billie and it was deliberate.

Well that was...painful. I often find myself questioning the luminaries of Broadway.

I don't think she was serious, either way that's disrespectful

I don't see how it was a parody of him though, funny or not and offensive or not. That thanking Jesus thing.........what does that have to do with Billie in any way? It was just a general rockstar parody, seems like she barely knows who he is.

She is pretending to be Billie. Sick bitch.

psh rude.

ew.

meant as a joke or not, that's just rude.

Thanks sean!!

Oh my god that hoe.

She was definitely playing the rockstar cliche, and she obviously knows nothing about Billie Joe. Nice attempt at being funny but maybe you should do some research on the person you're going to immitate next time...

I dont know why you might think she wouldnt know who Billie is! do you really think she would go up and make that speech if she had no clue who he was?? thats why she did the Jesus thing and why I said it was a bad parody. a parody of what Billie isnt is how I should have put it! we know he wouldnt do the Jesus thing (well not seriously lol) and we know (or hope) he doesnt sit around counting his money. she knows exactly who he is!

Yeah but it didn't sound especially like the opposite of Billie, it just sounded like the opposite of any random rockstar/celebrity who isn't a wanker. Could've said the exact same thing for any number of people. She might know who he is but you wouldn't know it from this speech, that's what I find lame about it :P

 ?? Thats just so...unfunny. If it had been a good parody I would've enjoyed it.

Is she for real

I agree with the majority of this thread. The woman was just... not funny. I'm pretty sure it was meant to be a joke, but at the same time- I feel like alot of the people there were the type of Broadway people who feel superior, and that's why they were laughing. I feel like alot of them were annoyed that Billie won the award, and they felt he was undeserving. And I feel like her joke was a play on that, and a ploy for THOSE people. I feel like it was meant to be insulting, and she knew the Broadway crew would get a kick out of it. I don't think it was an attack, specifically, on Billie, but kind of an attack on American Idiot in general, or the fact that he won, because he IS a rock star, and his fans can outvote other 'more deserving actors/actresses/replacements.' At least, through their perspective.

okay, so she got up on stage and i was thinking "oh my god, i love her! :D" and them she opens her mouth and i'm like  and by the end of it i'm just like what the fuck?
