Monica. Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 hmm where do I start? lol Some lyrics that stick out to me are: "I sit outside and watch the sunrise, lookout as far as I can, I can't see her, but in the distance, I hear some laughter..we laugh together" -2000 Light Years Away "When it's time to live and let die and you can't get another try...something inside this heart has died, you're in ruins" - 21 Guns
Guest iViva La Billie~Tre Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 I walk this empty street, on the Boulevard of Broken Dreams Where the city sleeps, and I'm the only one and I walk alone I walk alone, I walk alone I walk alone, I walk a- My shadow's Only one that walks beside me My shallow Heart's the only thing that's beating Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me Till then I walk alone
Batgirl Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 I love every Green Day song I know, from 1,039 SOSH to 21st CB, but i love these lyrics so much!! - "home is where your heart is, but what a shame 'cause everyone's heart doesn't beat the same" - "she's all alone again, wiping the tears from her eyes, some days he feels like dying, some days its not worth trying, now that they both are finding, she gets so sick of crying"
-Billiejoezee- Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 I have ssooo many Here's one "you're not the Jesus of suburbia The st. Jimmy is a figment of Your fathers rage and your mothers love Made me the idiot America" I always tear up for some reason.
porksoda Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 I can't pick just one. The reason Green Day is my favorite band is because I identify with so many of their songs and lyrics. All of American Idiot, all of Dookie, all of Insomniac, every album has really great lines.
Erica. Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 For what it's worth, it was worth all the while This lyric, for some reason, has stuck with me since I was a little kid. I didn't really understand the significance of it back then, but now it means the world to me. I wouldn't say it's the best, but it's the most important to me.
JDookie Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 I could write a book about this! Just something no one wrote, but I think they're worth staying: Stepped out of the line like a sheep runs from the herd marching out of time to my own beat now the only way i know Gotta make a plan Gotta do what's right Can't run around in circles If you wanna build a life But I don't wanna make a plan For a day far away While i'm young and while i'm able All I wanna do is....
fadi_7 Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 i can't thing of one thing but i think my fave is JOS lyrics all of it
pasalaska Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 'Starlit night, the moon is shining bright, you're the one that I neeeeeed' fucking defying the laws on rhyme there. Like a boss. seriously though, 'I'm the son of rage and love, the Jesus of Suburbia' That just captures the world right now, so so so so so much, not just for me but a whole generation I feel.
Firebert Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I'm so fuckin' happy I could cry Every joke can have its truth but now the joke's on you I never knew you were such a funny guy Oh, nice guys finish last, when you are the outcast Don't pat yourself on the back, you might break your spine Love love love it. Especially "I'm so fuckin' happy I could cry."
littlegirl-of-suburbia Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 How to choose i have so many so here are a few: "i beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies" "signs misleading to nowhere" "and she's holding on my heart like a hand grenade" All of boulevard of broken dreams (i'm emotionaly attached to that song) "give me a long kiss good night and every thing will be allright" "speechless and redundant cause i loves are not enough when i'm lost for words" "born in to Nixon i was raised in hell"
heart on a noose Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 "Look this direction, I know it's not perfection, it's just me."
Saint of Suburbia Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Very first line of Dookie Burnout - 'I declare I don't care no more'
Yongguk's Big Dick Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 for me is from Nice Guys Finish Last..im in love with this part "Every joke may have its truth but now the jokes on you" xD I adore that part
Annie, get your gun Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 This looks similar to "What's your favorite line from a GD song"... Anyway, it's not so easy, to me all their songs have a special meaning. But here are some: * "I don't want to cause no harm, but sometimes my actions hurt..." * "I take a look around and all the things I've found I call it blind hatred. If yod stop a while, and maybe if yod smile, you would realize that we're all the same..." * And the entire lyrics of Whatsername.
XxRedundantCastaway86xX Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Easily every lyric from Dominated Love Slave just kidding haha. Really though, there are so many lyrics that I love, It would be impossible to pick just one or even a few.
Guest Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Um... I have a few. I'll just name some from American Idiot. Homecoming: --"What the hell's your name? What's your pleasure and what's your pain? Do you dream too much? Do you think what you need is a crutch?" --"Jimmy died today He blew his brains out into the Bay In the state of mind It's my own private suicide" --"I started fuckin' running Just as soon as my feet touch ground We're back in the barrio But to you and me, that's Jingletown Home. We're coming home again" Those one gets me a lot, and when hearing the musical version of it when Billie sings it, it just gives me chills. Jesus of Suburbia: --"To live and not to breathe Is to die in tragedy" --"Nobody's perfect and I stand accused For lack of a better word and that's my best excuse" --"There's nothing wrong with me This is how I'm supposed to be In the land of make believe That don't believe in me" Some of them that stand out to me, it's hard to explain. Are We The Waiting" --"Lost and found city bound in my dreams.... Forget me not's and second thoughts live in isolation.... The rage and love, the story of my life" I just like these the best from this song Letterbomb: --You're not the Jesus of Suburbia The St. Jimmy is a figment of your fathers rage and your mothers love." I like this one a lot. Whatsername: --"I must confess. The regrets are useless She's in my head From so long ago and in the darkest night If my memory serves me right I'll never turn back the time Forgetting you, bu not the time" I always loved the last lines in this song, so full of emotion. So yeah, those are just a few from American Idiot. I'll probably post again for some other song's that I find. It's just that I've been listening to the Musical version of all of these songs and the way that they sing some of these, they just get stuck in your mind.
.Mary. Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I think it's J.A.R. Gotta make a plan Gotta do what's right Can't run around in circles, If you wanna build a life, But I don't want to make a plan, For a day far away, While I'm young and while I'm able, All I want to do is... When I Come Around definitely So go do what you like Make sure you do it wise You may find out that your selfdoubt means nothing was ever there You can't go forcing something if it's just not right and Jesus Of Suburbia To live and not to breathe is to die in tragedy To run, to run away, to fight what you believe And I leave behind this hurricane of fucking lies I lost my faith to this, this town that don't exist
AwesomeAsFudge Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 it's so hard to pick one lyric >< but if i had to i'll choose this : It's something unpredictable But in the end it's right I hope you had the time of your life
broooks77 Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 My favorite has always been from the Panic Song. "Well the world is a sick machine Breeding a mass of shit With such a desolate conclusion Fill the void with... I don't care" I don't know why, but I just love it.
Ilda_25 Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 It's difficult to choose one. There are so many lyrics that I love... But I think a lot with this, when I'm feeling with no motivation: "So make the best of this test and don't ask why, it's not a question but a lesson learned in time"
Undómiel Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I have so many but just the one that always makes me stop and think is: Starry Nights, City Lights, Coming down over me, Skyscrapers, stargazers in my head I just LOVE those words...
Malleus Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 This has been said before, but it is so hard, but my personal favorite is from When I Come Around and it's: So go do what you like Make sure you do it wise You may find out that your self-doubt Means nothing was ever there You can't go forcing something If it's just not right
Stormy Haze Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 "I'm losing what's left of my dignity, a small price I'll pay to see that you're happy. Forget all the disappointments you have faced, open up your worried world and let me in". "Throw my emotions in the grave, hell who needs them anyway" "You can't go forcing something if it's not just right" "There is no progress, evolution killed it all" "The motto was just a lie. It says "home is where your heart is", but what a shame, cause everyone's heart doesn't beat the same... we're beating out of time" Every lyric from Letterbomb. "The regrets are useless in my mind" "All I want to know is a god damned thing, not what's in the medicine. All I want to do is I want to breathe, batteries are not included" and some other lyrics from The Static Age (so relatable in today's world, seriously) I understand that it's supposed to be just one lyric, but Billie is an amazing songwriter and I just couldn't decide what my favourite lyric is.
