oda Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 @GreenDay has a good tactic They RT random people's "Vote for green day" tweets, which means more people will tweet it. (because they want to get RT'd by GreenDay) Make sence?
Satan Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 ^ actually yeah. that's pretty smart of them i guess green day's management CAN do something right.
GreenRanger Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 That's a good point - why don't we start voting from different computers since it only counts once? That could be our new strategy! Just make sure they don't have the same IP address. I have three computers in my house but since they're all on the same router I can't vote on all three of them and have it count each time. I remember being blocked one time and trying to switch computers and I was still blocked. Otherwise it's a good idea.
Tubbie Head Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 It's now up to the American Idiots... Europe is going to sleep. Keep spreading the word. Bye bye people
Satan Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 once again, i'm being overly confident. but i really wanna mess with the disturbed fans to make our victory so much sweeter this round was rather uneventful anyways ....
TheSaltOfTheEarth Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 once again, i'm being overly confident. but i really wanna mess with the disturbed fans to make our victory so much sweeter this round was rather uneventful anyways .... any round would seem uneventful compared to the Bagel round. That was something, alright But I suspect the finals will be more brutal and nerve-wracking. Us against Paramore (unless the MCRmy makes a comeback)? Yikes.
alaniluau Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 America better pull the boys through. I'd say the D/disturbed fans are going down!
Katarina. Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 What's the score atm? Green Day has 52.51%, well, now it's 52.5%, it's dropping again. The poll closes in four hours, so I think we can still win this. It's up to everyone living in America to vote till this round is over. I'm off.
Malleus Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Disturbed posted it again, fuck. 52.45% - GD 47.55% - Disturbed GD is going down pretty quickly.
mrcapan Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Green Day 52.46% Disturbed 47.54% Disturbed just posted four minutes ago. That's why it's dropping. Another Green Day FB post/tweet should get us back on track.
Malleus Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 So we did some digging in our poll software and discovered that some rather overzealous Coheed fans (and, to a lesser extent, some MCR ones too) had employed bots to juice up the polling numbers — seriously, when one IP address votes 4,576 times for Coheed and Cambria, you know something's amiss. So we plowed through the results, removed any and all suspicious IP addresses, and Coheed was still winning — by a lot. Last years review of March Madness. http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1635611/mtvs-musical-march-madness-champion.jhtml So it's confirmed, you cannot vote more than once. Doesn't that mean you just can't vote 4,576 times? I mean it's obvious if you're doing that that it's cheating.
Guest zarrR Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Doesn't that mean you just can't vote 4,576 times? I mean it's obvious if you're doing that that it's cheating. I think that's why they made the poll this year to be 1 vote per computer. I think they learned their lesson from last year.
drumstick Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I waited for an hour and after I voted it said just "Thank you for your vote". I guess that means we're able to vote every one hour. But fuck, it's dropping again green day 52.17 disturbed 47.83
TheSaltOfTheEarth Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 It's supposed to be which band has the most passionate fan base so why they would do that makes no sense to me. Oh well.
Doll Parts Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I hope our lead doesn't drop too significantly. I'll be off playing a game, but I'll be checking in every 10 mins or so.
Guest zarrR Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Still, MCR made a late surge, but in the end, C&C's lead was too insurmountable to overcome. And just to make sure the final results were legit, we did another round of IP pruning Wednesday morning. What can we say? We take our tournament seriously, and would hate to have its legacy ruined by salacious cheaters. http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1635611/mtvs-musical-march-madness-champion.jhtml
GreenRanger Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Falling percentages were a lot more exciting when we thought we could do something about it, eh?
stuart_and_the_ave Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 i'm off to bed now as it's 1.20am, if I can't get to sleep I'll try voting again in an hour hopefully we'll hang on and win
CaesarSalad Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Falling percentages were a lot more exciting when we thought we could do something about it, eh? ah, come on. don't give up on it now i'm sure they haven't limited it to one vote per person. they just watch out for ip numbers that show off ridiculous amounts of votes. they wouldn't take away the madness from march madness, now would they?
XxRedundantCastaway86xX Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Virtual high-fives for everyone for still being in the lead!
Spider Tre Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 we're still in the lead but the deficit is decreasing
Laura! Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I read this in the comments and it made me lol: "lol green day dosn't realy have fans mostly tha ppl are voting for green day r tha ones who don't realy listin t rock at all and would rather here green day because disturbed is 2 hardcore 4 them"
The Snark Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Falling percentages were a lot more exciting when we thought we could do something about it, eh? Hush, you. I'm in denial...
