Zelda Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 As far as I know, he smashed his original Fernandes Blue... He stated in an interview that it can't be played anymor as he broke it But he's 19 replicas (mostly Fender though) and he uses them live... Another rare item: At a concert during the past tour, he gave his acoustic guitar (a Gibson J-180) to a fan... Lucky guy^^ How does "East Jesus Nowhere" appear in Juno? He didn't smash Blue. It did break at one point (I believe what happened was a fan had bumped into him and he dropped it, causing the body to crack), but it was fixed. That's why the black electrical tape is there. (something like that...I'm not 100% sure if that's the actual story, that's just what I've read). But I know for sure that he still uses the original Blue. He used it on the 21CB tour, with the exception of the South America leg of the tour, as he used a replica for that one. And the mom in Juno mentions the phrase "east jesus nowhere" at one point in the movie, and that's where Billie probably got the name.
katymusic Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 The 10 signed pre-orders of Awesome As Fuck from Adeline will be pretty rare!

I believe the ones he uses now are replicas (Fernandes & Fender)... @Juno: Oh yeah, I think I remembe... Thanks!
Hedwig Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Anyway, what about the guys themselves? There's only one of each...I'd say that's pretty rare. Well, the thread name says "Rarest Green Day ITEM" so I'd say that wasn't very nice

I saw a video a while ago in which Billie was talking about his guitars. He held up Blue and said "This is a guitar that I've had since I was ten years old". And this was from the 21CB tour, so yes, he still uses it. Well, the thread name says "Rarest Green Day ITEM" so I'd say that wasn't very nice It was a joke.

fashionvictim86 Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Yes, however, he's rich....he could have easily repaired Blue and just retired it to prevent it from being broken again.
-Billiejoezee- Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 I heard he fixed it and it's now in his house, Retired. And at the breakfast with green day KROQ gig, billie said the name EJN came from the girl that said "why are you to east Jesus nowhere" and billie liked the name, then he saw in a photo that she was wearing a kerplunk shirt, so they changed it to ejn as a tribute to her. Which is pretty cool.
lololol Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Some of these collections put mine to shame hahaha, the only "rare" things I have are Foot in Mouth, Bowling Bowling Bowling Parking Parking and the Transmissions bootleg.
Isabel Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 It was the scene where Juno was telling her step-mom that she was driving out to see a couple about adopting her baby. Then the step-mom says "You don't have to drive all the way out to east jesus nowhere!"...or something like that. The lyrics "In the church of wishful thinking" stemmed from a visit to Minnesota with Adrienne and her brother, as far as I'm aware. It was written on one of those boards outside, and apparently Billie found it hilarious.
green day is Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 oh god i'm sure it's been done so creeepy. my aunt has one of their early early demo tapes. I'm not sure how early, but I know they lived in the same area and my cousin went to high school with them and stuff. next time I'm at her place I'll ask about it. If you converted it to digital and uploaded it, you'd be a hero. Just saying. BJ's original papers where he wrote the songs You can see pictures of some of those if you put the reissue of 1,039 into the computer. And there's supposed to be some in the book that's coming out.
DoodleBob Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I feel like this should be limited to things that were actually sold or given out.. not things that you would have to be a creepy ass stalker/rapist to have. Awe, darn, we were getting pretty creative though! The lyrics "In the church of wishful thinking" stemmed from a visit to Minnesota with Adrienne and her brother, as far as I'm aware. It was written on one of those boards outside, and apparently Billie found it hilarious. Actually, in a interview Billie said he wrote EJN after going to a baptism at a church with Tre (or something like that:P). So that's probably where that lyric came from. I'm not 100% sure, I'm just putting 2 and 2 together. ALSO, this Kerplunk! dress is one of a kind and has already been bought, so I would consiter it rare. Keep in mind that it's not an OFFICIAL GD item. http://smarmyclothes.com/index.php?main_page=popup_image_additional&pID=1000&pic=2&products_image_large_additional=images/large/dresses10/gdh_04_LRG.jpg&zenid=44cc2f3febf480344aded155523bac12
Hermione Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 About Blue, Billie does use the original now. It got too broken/worn out to play around Nimrod time so he started using replicas instead. But at some point before the AI tour he got it fixed. He used the real Blue throughout the AI and 21st CB tours (apart from during the South American leg of the 21st CB tour, when according to Bill Schneider he had to leave it at home so it could have some minor maintenance done to it). The lyrics "In the church of wishful thinking" stemmed from a visit to Minnesota with Adrienne and her brother, as far as I'm aware. It was written on one of those boards outside, and apparently Billie found it hilarious. It was a church called the Church of Divine Hope. Billie saw it and said "Oh my God, that's like calling it the Church of Wishful Thinking!" and they all cracked up laughing. Actually, in a interview Billie said he wrote EJN after going to a baptism at a church with Tre (or something like that:P). So that's probably where that lyric came from. I'm not 100% sure, I'm just putting 2 and 2 together. Going to the baptism is what prompted him to write the song, but he got the idea for that particular lyric from seeing that church. He's said both of these things in interviews so that's definitely what happened.

I remembered the part about how Billie got inspired to write EJN, I guess I didn't remember the rest of the interview. Damn my brain and how it only remembers parts of things!
Isabel Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 It was a church called the Church of Divine Hope. Billie saw it and said "Oh my God, that's like calling it the Church of Wishful Thinking!" and they all cracked up laughing. Aha I was 50% there
LadyWhatsername Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Probably Blue...But why would Billie give that to someone? I'm sure there's a guy out there making fake ones and selling them as the real thing..
