I feel like they spiked that whole room with something lol. Very entertaining video, for sure, what a great find. And then that guy sat right in front of Jason's face.

They're not actually having a band, they just call themselves The Big Three. They're just being sarcastic, because no one recognizes them...

that was a joke you nimrod.

As much as I adore the Green Day trio we all know and love I don't think I would be opposed to the idea that the three might become four.

But, I also agree with everyone's thought that Jason is content where he's at.

When I met him at the Gilman during the Pinhead show he was really very nice, but he didn't seem especially thrilled with the idea that he was being asked for autographs and pictures.

Nawww that interview with Jason

except he doesn't sound as southern as he was when I met him.

Jason isn't an official member, he doesnt play guitar on the albums, However I wouldn't mind at all if he did become an official member and I hope he never ever leaves the bands live show line up :)

I like to think of him as the unofficial 4th member of Green Day :)

You're wrong. Jason played on AI and 21CB. There's a documentary about the making of AI, and it shows them recording the album. Both Jason and Jason Freese are playing for the live recording.

Nah, if he played on the albums he'd be credited in the album booklets. Jason Freese played some sax on AI and some piano on 21st CB, which he's credited for in the booklets. But Jason White didn't play on either of them. I'm sure they both played with them in the studio during the recording, but he's not on the final recording of any of their albums.

But playing small amounts of back up music on an album wouldn't make him a member of the band anyway. They've used lots of additional musicians on their albums over the years, doesn't mean they're in the band. To be like a proper band member he'd have to start playing lead guitar on their albums and helping write the songs and stuff.

Sorry, but i'm not wrong. I know there is a documentary about the making of AI which has Jason rehersaing with the band before they go on tour. He is not playing guitar on the albums. Look at the little little booklets that come with the albums it says who plays what instrument on the album. Jasons name is never there. Yes Jason freese did play piano bits on 21st Century Breakdown but he is also NOT an offical member of the band.

The Jasons are session / touring musicians for Green Day, and I'm sure they're happy that way.

I dont know how true it is, but I remember reading somewhere that he was asked to be an offiicial member sometime around the time of American Idiot and he declined.

Are you thinking of Pat Smear? Or do I not know about Franz Stahl? (I know that's not the point of the post, but just checkin.)

I can't speak for the original poster of this, but yes, Franz Stahl was a member of the foo fighters during the Nothing Left To Lose era. Pat left the band in the middle of the MTV VMAs that year, and Franz took his place for the second song they did for the night. Eventually, Franz was replaced (for whatever reasons) by Chris Shifflet. Most recently, Pat Smear became an official Foo again. Back on topic..

I doubt that Jason will ever be a permanent member, and I also doubt that he was ever asked to be in the band officially (in the sense of being included in promos, interviews, etc). I bet he jams with them in order to hear how both guitar parts play out at the same time, how it might sound live, to get back into the groove of playing, etc.

Love him & all, but he shouldn't be an official member. Mebbe if he helped to write he would, but no.

Completely off topic, but your video kicks ass man! If my band can ever scrape up the money to go on tour, I want you guys to be the opening act!
