Dai. Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 So uh....what happened to On the Ave? It's on the album.
localinsomniac Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I was just listening to the album and realized it wasn't in the playlist. Can't find it on the computer. Oh well, guess I'll have to download it again.

localinsomniac Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 If you want, I can upload the one song for you. Thanks, but you don't have to do that! I'm already downloading he album again.
Little Girl Little One Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 If I remember correctly I played Wake Me Up When September Ends, 1,000 Hours (twice), Redundant and Words I Might Have Ate Aww, you played my collab. And seriously everyone, thank you for all the compliments. I was so shy about playing it, especially because I had royally screwed it up at my recital, but having a bunch of people say they like it makes it so worth it! Also, thanks so much, Alex, for being patient with my bazillion questions and technical difficulties, and for doing such a fantastic job singing and putting it all together.
EvanAsFuck Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Damn, I completely forgot about this and never submitted my song...
captain peroxide Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Also, thanks so much, Alex, for being patient with my bazillion questions and technical difficulties, and for doing such a fantastic job singing and putting it all together. Hey, I loved collaborating with you. You're an amazing piano player. We should definitely record together again sometime
Dai. Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 We should definitely record together again sometime I would love this so much.
ParadoxAndPlaid Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 All of them are really great. I think Redundant and 1000 hours are my favorites. Alex you managed to make BS&B even more awesome and- slightly creepy. The only thing that could have possibly made it better is if you reenacted the audio sample of the dominatrix tre hired.

ParadoxAndPlaid Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I'm so gonna re-record the cover and edit that in there Fantastic! You should post a link for us GDCers when you do.
Kayfabe Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 how did you guys get your recording quality to be so good? i sort of got my rockband mic and just played, and i noticed the quality was less than great but then i was like whatever, it's not like everyone else will have whole recording studios in their houses or whatever. but then it turned out you all did
captain peroxide Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 You need a good mic, pretty much. And an amp with a lineout if you want to do electric stuff (or a nice dynamic mic, but that's more complicated). I have a pretty nice condenser mic that I use for vocals and acoustic guitar, and then I record my electric guitar directly from the amp (although I'm starting to experiment with miking). Basically, most computer microphones are cheapish, and can't handle sounds over a certain pitch or volume, and if you try, it equals distortion.

Alex, what (computer) program did you use to edit your recordings? Your songs sound really professional!
captain peroxide Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Why thank you I use Logic Pro, which is like a more complicated version of GarageBand. It just has more options, really.

captain peroxide Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 More than the program you use is the equipment you use. Get a good condenser mic, and you'll be sorted.
Metanoia Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I was just listening to the album and realized it wasn't in the playlist. Can't find it on the computer. Oh well, guess I'll have to download it again. They're all Mp3 except for that one is MPEG, which I could only play on itunes (lol thanks to my sisters laptop) all others can be played on Windows Media Player, maybe thats the reason.
billie joe is GOD! Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Captain Peroxide.....Blood Sex And Booze.....Win!!
Lauren Posted March 18, 2011 Author Posted March 18, 2011 I see people are talking about another collaboration. I like the Valentine's Day CD as a way for everyone to participate, but we should do a new one where there's only the "good" recordings. Of course some people think other people sound better, but by good I mean the quality should be decent, and the singer should be able to hit the notes. Some people prefer other people's voices, but as long as it's in good key, we'll most likely take it. Maybe we can call the CD (Almost As) Awesome As Fuck. WE SHOULD COVER EVERY GREEN DAY SONG EVER. and some people can collaborate on songs, kinda like the "record a sawng" thing. I'm thinking we should change it up a bit, though. When people play the same instruments as the songs, they only sound like Green Day with a different singer. People could mix up styles and instruments - that'd be awesome. GREEN DAY RAP!!!!

captain peroxide Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 I like it Only thing is I wouldn't recommend trying to cover every song
