The venue said it was because Green Day themselves didn't want cameras there. ...And now they want us to sumbit photos/videos Well aren't they just a Walking Contradiction. ....See what I did there?

WHAT? oh but they have the forum show, and all the stories are short, so i'll have a good chance! ....but they don't have the chula vista show... atleast they have the san diego gig! but where are all the missing shows? are they still putting them up?

Well, I would just like to give a big fat fucking thank you to my parents who forbid me to bring my camera into the concert. I STILL haven't forgiven them for it, haha. And now that I think of it, couldn't anyone just add photos/videos to enter the contest?

netty Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I think it's a bit off for them to have a competition of this kind that's only open to fans who are lucky enough to have been able to go to a Green Day show and not the many fans who haven't . Don't like it. The last people they should be excluding from a one off opportunity to see a Green Day thing are people who have never got to see a Green Day thing before. Rewarding someone for being lucky or rich enough to see a show when they've already had the reward of seeing the show.........it just perpetuates the ridiculous idea that going to shows makes you a better or more deserving fan. its a site about the gigs and peoples experiences! hardly surprising that the first competition is one about exactly that. plus I have never thought that being able to go to the few shows I have makes me any better or more deserving that those who havent been to any. that attitude is purely in the minds of a section of the fanbase. not the band or management. I`m going to be contacting the admin on monday about the site, missing gigs and any issues that pop up. I should imagine they havent finished adding everything yet and there will always be bugs in a new site.

Why do they ask people to upload videos and pictures when cameras was banned from many shows, and Billie tends to have rants about how people shouldn't take pictures during the show... I know it's not Green Day themself who are behind the site, but still stupid contradictory (... and I think I spelled that wrong) Green Day management x.x"

That's a huge contest to be offering, and like people said, really unfair to those that haven't seen GD live. It's not confirmed on GD.com... But it's confirmed on the offical Facebook page

O_O Clearly I am crazy. Maybe not totally crazy - i couldn't see anything about it when i first checked. (had the same concerns about legitimacy considering so many gigs are missing and the value of the prize for out of US entrants)

I've written about the first half of the Copenhagen show but then I didn't get any further because my text was so bad and way too detailed. I've finished writing about Wembley though and I think I'm pretty pleased with it, although I'd have to edit it a bit... Don't know if it's too long, but I'm kind of using it as a part of a story so I'd have to make a few changes anyway. Then if we have to add pictures/videos I'll give up either way. My camera died at every single gig I went to. Those little bits I did get on camera I doubt would help. I guess I'll see what I can do...

It does seem kind of unfair that it's only open to people who've seen Green Day live but I suppose the competition's only a small part of it, the website's actually supposed to be a scrapbook of the tour. It still seems unfair though, the competition could have been open to everyone.

I was skeptical at first because I thought it would only be for US people, but it's open for us too I've added a few photos and my story for Sheffield, and I need to get round to doing Wembley. Are the winners being picked at random, or are they doing it based on best story/photo/video? edit: Nevermind, I read the rules
