Billie must be getting a very undeserved vote How dare you mention Matt Bellamy's name in the same sentence as those wannabes . Muse are beyond amazing live and Matt Bellamy is a guitar god! The only current band who puts on a better live show is Green Day. Hmph

When are people going to realize that Muse is a shit band, Matt is a terrible guitar player (he's a much, much better singer) and their live show is nothing to write home about!? Seriously, probably the worst band we have in popular music today. Also, Billie is definitely one of the top 10 frontmen of all time. I might have missed a lot of the greats in person, but I've seen the DVDs and tons of other bands live, and no one commands the audience or controls the show like Billie. There is a lot more to being a frontman than being the lead singer in a popular band (Jimi Hendrix was a great guitar player, but he even admitted to being shy on stage and never even wanted to be a singer - also, Cobain was already mentioned).

And then there are the classic icons like Freddie Mercury (I think he should be in 1st). I am giving 10s to BJA and Damon Albran, from Blur, he deserves to be at least in the top 10! If you think Matt Bellamy is a terrible guitar player I laugh in your face sir! They're the best band (and certainly the best live band) in the UK and that's why they top polls by UK magazines. However I agree with your second paragraph
