dawn71 Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 This is the award plague I gave to Billie Joe On Sat 26th to share with the rest of Green Day it's about what Green Day has inspired in their fans for the most part. I gave them this from all of us GREEN DAY Billie Joe, Tre' and Mike your fans want to give you this award and thank you for the music that you have shared with us and for everything that you have taught us for over 2 decades now. When the three of you play we can feel the magic. When you play your music, it draws us in and we all feel like we are a part of something great. Your music has reach down into the depths of our very souls and has forever changed us. Your music has inspired us all in so many different ways. You have shown us it is ok to be our true selves, and not to let anyone make us bury it away. Also that it is ok if we don't fit into societys mold. That it is better to be a misfit and being true to ourselves, than being someone elses art project. You have taught us that it is important to believe in ourselves even if no one else does. The music you three play is so powerful that it has changed lives and even saved some. As Green Day fans we will push the envelope and not allow anyhing to box us in, and oh yeah most important of all we will play our music loud. Thank you for sharing the magic of your music with us. Please except this award with our thanks and know that your fans love you guys. your fans want to give you this award and thank you for the music that you have shared with us and for everything that you have taught us for over 2 decades now. Hilaweed Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 They inspired me to not follow the crowd. They changed my taste in music (mostly)
Guest Honey Emerald Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 I question everything and everyone because of Green Day.
toomuchtoosoon Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 To be more thoughtful. To listen to old punk music. To get back up and give life another shot (several times). To say "fuck" way more than I probably should.
asemh Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 listen to more punk rock and clothing and hair style lool
CzechIdiot Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Not be nice to every fucking person, ie: if I'm pissed, I don't hide it anymore. I am not afraid to say what's on my mind anymore, even if it's not nice. I used to keep everything in my head, and I used to be way way too nice, so I became a pushover, and it got me nowhere. So yeah, I am essentially more of a bitch now, but if it bothers anyone then it's their fucking problem I totally agree. I also changed this way and I feel so much better.
Olive. Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Green Day has changed my life in so many ways. I was introduced to Green Day when I was only 8. My love for them was very light, mostly because I didn't know what they were singing about. At 10, I dropped them. I started listening to really stupid music. Then, I got into Eminem and rap music. Then, he faded and it turned to the metal genre. That faded, then I got into pop. I was now 16, and I found pop quite stupid. During this time, I got introduced to screamo and genres like that. Here I am, 18, and I come across Dookie again. I listen to it, and it revived my love for them. Now, I've ALWAYS been a fan, but just during that time period, they just weren't a band I listened to. Ever since, Green Day has always been on my iPod. Everywhere. Now, though I like many different bands, Green Day has not been forgotten. I guess Green Day has taught me that being myself if the only way to live. Doing drugs can fuck you up, but it's also fun, but it's better to stay away. That life goes on. It follows you everywhere. They've taught me so much, that, I can't even explain.
Fiona? Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 - Pick up a guitar - Start playing piano again - Write Music - Dye my hair pink - Rebel against my stupid school policies - My clothing style has changed - My personality too
Angie-Marie Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Thanks to Green Day, I beat my phobia of driving. I refused to get my license for a long time, but then 21st Century Breakdown came out and I loved it so much that when I found out they were playing nearby on the tour, I knew I had to be there. I was determined to be there come hell or high water. Since none of my friends are particularly big Green Day fans and I couldn't afford to hire a driver for the night, my only option was to face my fear and finally get my driver's license. So I did, and even though trying to face that phobia got really frustrating at times, seeing Green Day live made it so worth it in the end.
Class.of.13 Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 I know this sounds so cliché, but yeah, GD has helped me so much. I grew up listening to stupid pop, and I never really listened to good ol' rock until I was ten and saw people performing 21 Guns at the Grammys. (only two years later I find out they were the AI cast XD) I've gotten a better taste of music, and what the world is really like. I've delved into the world of music even more than I was before, and I'm gonna get GDRockband and a Les Paul EVEN IF IT KILLS ME. Oh, and pretty much everything the other people said. ^cool, congrats
Satan Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 i know it's been said 4272389572 times, but, to play guitar. when i heard the song JOS, i was like "holy shit i HAVE to learn this !!" oh, and i swear because of them
Leisha-LUNA Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 They kind of taught me to go after what I want. They inspired me to work hard as fuck to save up to go and see them in Europe. And seeing the world by extension finally motivated me to move out of my dead end town/home and get a new life. They inspire me to live life exactly how I want it. To burnout not fade away.

Fuck yeah. It's difficult to sum up. They've inspired me to do what i want, while at the same time looking out for others.
jos_whatsername Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 They inspired me to take drumming seriously, to get better in it and dont stop doing it just because it may be difficult sometimes..
Sofouska Posted March 6, 2011 Author Posted March 6, 2011 Go to Green Day concerts. EDIT: God Damnit. This was my 1000th post and it was a fucking LAME one. (Although, having one thousand posts is nothing to really brag about. Yayy, I sat at my computer typing mindless jabber for who knows how many minutes/hours. lawl LOL 1000 post! Amazing Glad it was in my topic
JeanJeanie Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Won't be the only one but the album American Idiot ignited the "becoming a musician" dream..... Only 14 million people heard the American Idiot album when it came out, but every single one of them started a band. Mine was called Generation Kangaroo. Its hard to think what that band hasn't inspired me to do. They've been like a religion since I was 14.

Oh yes Religion is DEFINITELY the word We live by the lyrics as other people live by the bible Fuck yeah. It's difficult to sum up. They've inspired me to do what i want, while at the same time looking out for others. Yah, they've influenced us so much... and pretty positively! I've heard about so many fans having more self confidence, starting bands, deciding to start doing something, picking a career... so many things that cannot be viewed as unimportant

Zelda Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 They have inspired me to not give a fuck about anyone or anything at all.
littlegirl-of-suburbia Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Hmm good question.... They mostly helped me when it came to being a minority and saying what I truely believe. So thank you green day =)
euphoric-pareidolias Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 -i used to be a bit of a pushover and was always slagged for what i wanted to do with my life and be, Green Day helped me learn to ignore people putting me down and has helped me keep belief in what i want to do, despite what people say. Because of them i have learnt not to give up on who/what i believe in and no matter the rest of the world, always be yourself. -2 years ago i had a rough 8 weeks where a close family member was seriously sick in hospital and i pretty much listened to Green Day 24/7 and they helped me stay positive and strong for the rest of my family who were worried and everything. - then last year i had a bad 3 months and some of my friends couldnt understand why i was so upset over what was happening. Mum thought i was becoming depressed and i stopped talking to people as i felt they were always judging me, yet again Green Day helped me through each day and helped me to stay true to my feelings despite what people around me thought so overall, GD have helped me stay true to who i am and not change my feelings or opinions due to those around me.
