Personally, I'm only gonna be able to donate a smallish amount today. I'm low on funds at the moment, and I don't feel it's a good idea to max out my credit cards when I have no way of paying them off. Still, though, I'm betting any amount helps. Plus, by donating directly to the NRDC, we'll know exactly where our money's going --- And that would be to help a worthy and important cause, as opposed to, apparently, helping a rash spender pay off their irresponsible debts.

Fuck.

I don't think she's saying she's replenishing her pocket with the money that is being raised here with the stuff she has listed on ebay. I think she's just upset and saying that she herself, which she did, spent tons of money throwing a party last weekend. The money being raised on here IS being donated to charity, I believe it is NDRC, I honestly don't know that for a fact but I know that she is not using the money she raises to keep for herself.

Whoa. Are you ... Are you serious ...?

Because you've been giving us all the impression that '100% of the proceeds' will be going to 'the NRDC and a charity'. So unless your fucking pocket is a registered charity, I'd say we've got a shitload to worry about, Dawn. At the very least, you've been incredibly dishonest to all of your fellow Green Day fans, and at the very worst, you could be legally charged for fraud.

That's exactly what I'm trying to do.

Yeah, I never questioned the authenticity of the signed merchandise.

Holy ...

So you're basically confirming to me and the rest of GDC that the funds you're going to be receiving from these items are all going right back into your pocket because you maxed out your credit cards for a fucking party?! Oh my God, Dawn ...

I understand if you want to sell your personal merchandise for personal reasons, but to sell these items that were specially signed to be auctioned off for an amazing charity, to state that all the proceeds are going to charity, and then, after all that, to just keep the money yourself ...? That's just fucking wrong!

Again, I'm not questioning the authenticity of the items --- And I haven't actually bid on anything yet. As usual, you're quickly skimming over/misreading/misinterpreting posts.

Y'know what, though? Fuck it. After reading and re-reading this enlightening response of yours, I've decided I no longer want to bid on anything you've got up for sale. At all.

Instead, I'm going to donate the money I was going to spend directly to the NRDC myself. If anyone else reading this feels the same way after what Dawn has just stated, this is the page I'm filling out right now to donate:

https://secure.nrdconline.org/site/Donation2?df_id=1554&1554.donation=form1

You're a fucking moron. No where did she say she was pocketing the cash from these auctions, and the auctions themselves say that 100% is going to charity. I can't believe how incredibly stupid you are for all of the insane insinuations and accusations you made in your post. She's doing a lot for this charity, putting up cherished personal items and rare records & memorabilia and why you felt like you needed to come in and shit all over that is beyond me.

As for the auctions, I wish I would have caught them earlier because everything left is way out of my price range. Makes me sad too :(, because there was a lot I would like to have and I'm always up for a good cause.

I agree... You're pulling this out of your ass Mallory :ermm: And i think it's unfair because Dawn has done so much for this event.

...Moving on :ninja:

I really like that BiaB vinyl, but I can't afford it :(

Can I get another AMEN!

Yea, there are some great items on there that I can't afford, for sure.

That replica looks great! They never look as beat up as the original too heartbreaking to weather a new guitar like that, I guess.

With regard to Mallorys posts above, I think the point is that with any organization taking charitable donations, transparency is key. Anyone donating or anyone interested in the cause should be able to see exactly where (to what organizations) any monies are donated and what percentage is donated. I doubt anyone is naïve enough to think that truly 100% of contributions are given to charity there are ebay seller costs incurred at the very least but it is certainly in Dawns best interests in protecting herself with other peoples money to be extremely clear up front. Ideally, GDATW would be an official non-profit so that people donating money could take a tax writeoff for a charitable contribution.

I have heard the NRDC mentioned is that the official and only site that GDATW efforts will be donated to? There are also references ro using donations "to fund GDATW events" and I guess that is where the confusion may lie.

At this point, of course, most of the money coming in to GDATW has probably been from the sale of Dawns own personal items, and the argument could be made that no one has the right to know what is being done with the money from the auction of her personal things. Its a bit of a grey area, but once she stated she was selling these items to give 100% to GDATW, and Billie Joe signed them for that intent, questions like Mallory raised above are going to be asked. People have also donated their own items for auction at this point, and presumably money has been directly donated on the GDATW site, and certainly the use of the money from those donations should be made very public or at least shared with the people who donated the money or item.

With regard to the party in NYC a few weekends ago, I dont think anyone had anything but a fantastic time and was very appreciative of Dawns generous sponsoring of the event. I was confused that she took on such a major expense herself, however…all those trophies and plaques and awards as well as the food and DJ/entertainment. It might have been a good idea for her to either ask for donations to offset those party costs specifically if needed (which I would have happily given and I think a lot of other people there would have done the same) so questions about whether money coming in elsewhere was being used to pay for the party would not have arisen.

Consider me a later comer, I didn't even know there was a thread for the auctions, but I've been following some of them on ebay...

Yes, I won the Look For Love vinyl! :D Still can't believe it!

Dammit! You beat me! I had the highest bid until, like 30 seconds before!

Fuck.

i never said it was going into my pocket I most certainly wouldn't do that (it would be like stealing from myself which makes

no sense why would i donate most all of my green day items just to steal it? that makes no fucking sense), i have donated a

hell of a lot so please back off. If you remember a while back i mentioned advertising this event renting space to advertise.

I have a lot going on for this event that cost money, and will cost more money. I never gave the impression in my auctions that

all is going to NRDC I don't even mention NRDC on the auctions i say its to fund green day across the world. it was on GDC

that i mentioned the NRDC and what i said is any funds that are left go to NRDC. If you look it says AND so WTF??, i am hoping to hit

my goal of giving the NRDC at least $10,000, i'm doing my damnedest to make that goal. I donated 20 years worth of green day stuff and

guitars i have been collecting for the past 20 years to auction off to help this event. Mallory please get off my back its always the same

thing with you. Here we go again, a few months ago you were giving me shit about something else and i'm sick of it. I have always

given a lot and trying to do something good and all you are doing is criticizing so until you step up and and do something good yourself

please don't knock others who do. Also why would you say we have a lot to worry about when you haven;t done shit! If you don't stop

trying to fuck up this event i'm going to report you. this event doesn't need negative shit and if all you can do is be negative then don't be a part of it!

I promise you that Billie did sign that just ask him next time you see him and tell him all the shit you been stirring up. Chris it is authentic

shes just trying to stir shit. If people would rather donate to the NRDC or any other environmental charity that is awesome.

It's all the same thing and trying to accomplish the same thing, except GDATW is being done in honor of Green Day. Isn't

that why I'm doing this, to honor Green Day ? to give back a little of what they have given us these past 2 decades? Why in the

hell do you think I'm doing all this for my health? I'm doing this in honor of the best fucking band on this Earth! So back the fuck off!!!

Alex, sorry for prices I've tried to start items off lower now, before I was seeing what similar items go for and trying to go in the middle.

I have tons more stuff to put up for auction over the next month some signed and some not.

The items that say Billie signed them for that intent is because, he knew he was signing for Green Day Across The World. Yes there have been a few people

who donated items to be auctioned off for GDATW. The party in NYC was partly to help raise awareness for GDATW and also to thank the cast and crew for

their support in the efforts of GDATW. I payed for some of the event and others donated money knowing it was for the party. people even took up a collection

at the party to help me with all it cost. I haven't used ebay money on it. The Ebay money wouldn't come near to covering the cost, the money that i used on the

party that people donated they told me when they donated it that it was to help with the cost of the party. I'm a giving type person I've given concert tickets,

tickets to American Idiot, and I've made and given away shirts. That is just me, it makes me happy to make others happy. I've had people that have helped

me when I've needed it too. Someone helped me get to NYC and helped with some of the expenses of the party and I spent my entire months disability

pay and my tax refund to pay for the party. I've been trying hard to do a good thing here and every time I turn around I see people either talking crap about it or

giving me the 3rd degree and I don't understand why. Have I done anything to make anyone think I'm a bad person? All I have done is give and try to help,

and you all have heard about the good things I've done from others and no one has said I've cheated or been mean or bad so I don't understand the

mistrust when I have never done anything but good for the green day community. I love the green day and the fans and I don't see why it's hard to

believe I do the things I do other than I LOVE Green Day and the Green Day Community/Family. When May 28th comes you all will see it will be awesome

just like the party in NYC was. Mo one believed then that the cast, crew or Billie would come but they did. I am going to make Green Day Across the

World so well known and so big that Green Day will definitely feel honored by us their fans and we will have made a difference in this world in the

process.

Oh no worries, I think the prices were completely fair. I mean, I definitely would've paid 60 or more for the signed LP, I just don't have that money right now =/ I also don't have a record player, but that's beside the point :P

I'm excited to see what new stuff goes up! :D

Can anyone who watches these GDATW auctions let me know if THIS gets put up for auction anytime soon?

WithBlue.jpg

I donated it to Dawn for auction (that photo was from right after I gave it to her) in New York and I haven't seen it up for auction yet. I look every couple of days or so but sometimes I get busy and might miss it. I am curious to watch it and see how much it goes for. :) I emailed Dawn to ask her to let me know when she puts it up but she hasn't responded. I am sure she has many emails to answer. '

Anyway, PM me if you see it go up. Thanks!

I'll find out and let you know, Dorie. Thanks for donating that, your mini blues are SO COOL!!!

Thanks, sweets. I'll watch for it. I emailed her photos and a description of how I made that one different around the time of the party, so she might want to go back through her older emails if she doesn't want to bother taking new ones.
