Hermione Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 He said the end of HAR was just rubbish in the Idiot Club Q&A. Ahh! Well there we go. I wonder if it was actually just rubbish or if it was real words being mumbled in such a way that they might as well just be rubbish. I'm suspicious when he says that, especially as when he was asked about Reject he couldn't even remember what song it was at first let alone the mumbled words at the end of it. Well I'm still gonna enjoy singing say birthday boy hey on Rockband anyway
Katarina. Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 What is at the beginning of Knowledge? I know it doesn't say anything, backwards or forwards, but what is it? Is it speech? I think I asked this before maybe. Well, if you play it backwards, you can hear "I'm a very stupid person". That's what I hear anyway. No idea if it's from a speech, I thought it was one of the guys saying that, and they just recorded it and reversed it.
Eirik Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Ahh! Well there we go. PunkRocks and Coke Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Who wrote the song Alison, Billie, Elvis Costello, or both of them?
Katarina. Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Who wrote the song Alison, Billie, Elvis Costello, or both of them? Elvis Costello did. It was released when Billie was 5 years old..
PunkRocks and Coke Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Elvis Costello did. It was released when Billie was 5 years old.. oh haha, I had never heard it before him and BIlie sang it together, thanks
Hermione Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 He even did a little rendition of it. It went something like: Hey hai wow weyh Haha! Alright, you've convinced me.
XxRedundantCastaway86xX Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Hey does anyone know what Tre's drum brand and/or setup was during the Dookie era?
EvanAsFuck Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Hey does anyone know what Tre's drum brand and/or setup was during the Dookie era? I'm pretty sure he used Slingerland drums, but I'm not sure on the setup or anything else...
green day is Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Hey does anyone know what Tre's drum brand and/or setup was during the Dookie era? He used pots and pans set in a circle around him, then he would hit them with wooden spoons. On Longview he used a Stainless Steel, Nonstick Kitchen World brand pot. Real nice one too.
tooBadtooSadthisisGoodbye Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Heyo Guys! Umm I've got a question: If you have watched the LOTAG music video, you probably realized that Gloria has a tattoo on her (left) foot. And I just can't figure out what it says, so I'm asking you if you know what it says. Would be awesome if you could tell me! thanks, Carly
oda Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 you mean this? it looks like numbers or something to me.
bat-chen Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Elvis Costello did. It was released when Billie was 5 years old.. Elvis Costelly maybe made the song first but Billie Joe's cover made it more amazing
solongfromthestars Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Yeah, I think it's numbers or possibly something in a different language like Japanese or Russian?
jtdscape Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I tweeted her. Lets see if we get an answer. This belongs in the question and answer thread though so I am going to merge this.
scattered80 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Does anyone think that Roshambo was originally supposed to be on C&V? Because of the lyrics "I don't believe in valentines".
EvanAsFuck Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Does anyone think that Roshambo was originally supposed to be on C&V? Because of the lyrics "I don't believe in valentines". I doubt it, It doesn't sound at all like a Green Day song... Plus just because it says Valentines doesn't really mean anything...

minorty13 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 how many tattoos have Tre? He have the girl with a balloon, the television out of a window, E.B.P.M, an anchor and one that it's horeshoes and handgrenades, anything more? He has that weird blob-looking thing on his ankle... pasalaska Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 how many tattoos have Tre? He have the girl with a balloon, the television out of a window, E.B.P.M, an anchor and one that it's horeshoes and handgrenades, anything more? He has that weird blob-looking thing on his ankle... I figured out what it was a while back and now I can't remember I'll look and see if I can find it again! I don't have a picture of his tattoo, but I know it's 'Vajra', the symbol of 'Vajrayana' link with info on the symbolism here It is a small metallic object also called the Thunderbolt or dynamite which destroys all kinds of ignorance and enemies. It is indestructible and cannot be bent or broken. It is a symbol of Hindu God Indra. In Tantrism, Vajra symbolizes male principle when it is held in the right hand. Bell symbolizes the female principle when it is held in the left hand. The interaction leads to enlightenment. It is believed that Buddhist God got Vajra from Hindu God Indra and slightly modified by closing the points of darts. Vajra of Hindu gods has three flat darts, the points of which do not touch like those of Tibetan Vajras. The Tibetan variety is round and has four darts and the points are closed. Thus it appears in the form of a lotus bud. A fifth dart runs through the centre of Vajra, thus there are 5 darts. Vajra represent 5 bodies of Dhyani Buddhas. In Vajrayana School of Buddhism, Vajra is the symbol of linga or male sex organ. so it's something to do with either enlightenment, or cocks.
ltrbmb17 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 It's an Elvis Costello song, so I don't think it's on GDA. The lyrics are on this site for example. thank you, Katarina!
alexwetherell Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Does anyone think they'll be a greatest hits album soon? I mean, I heard rumours that there was going to be a greatest hits release at the end of 2010.. but that obviously didn't happen..
green day is Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I have heard multiple times (including in Nobody Likes You, I think) that Tré once had a bone fragment removed, held a haiku contest, and gave it to the winner. It's fucking ridiculous, I know, but it's also Tré. Is there a source for this?
LetItBeHappy Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I have heard multiple times (including in Nobody Likes You, I think) that Tré once had a bone fragment removed, held a haiku contest, and gave it to the winner. I don't know if it's true o not, but I can assure you that it wasn't in Nobody Likes You, I read it a little while ago have the guys ever played sassafras roots live? If so, where? (despite the soundcheck in that concert that was aired during the New year's eve)
Hermione Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I have heard multiple times (including in Nobody Likes You, I think) that Tré once had a bone fragment removed, held a haiku contest, and gave it to the winner. It's fucking ridiculous, I know, but it's also Tré. Is there a source for this? It's true. When Billie did those messages on greenday.com in 2002/2003, Tre did some too. He had an operation to remove a bone fragment from his knee, and decided to have a haiku contest and offer it up as a prize on one of the messages. A load of people entered and the winner got the bone I can't find a very good source but apparently this was the winning haiku: Hey, Come here a sec, Ever seen a rash like this? Seriously, though. There's a geekstinkbreath.net thread from a couple of years ago where people were discussing it: http://www.geekstinkbreath.net/board/topic/55713/ And I know there's people on GDC who were around when it happened and can remember it too, so there's no doubt it happened. Someone else might know a better source though (or BE a better source if they remember it from when it happened).
