LOL! Thanks for the explanation. That's so silly and I love it

Reminds me of the "Spooky Vision" they had in a halloween episode of South Park once, bet that's where they got the idea from

It's nothing too special, but kind of funny  (And only then it's worth watching the video.. otherwise it's just weird..)

Look. When you click on Hungry Hungry Models in the DVD menu, you'll get this:

So when you have that on, you can see the Snoo (with sometimes Captain Underpants playing keytar behind him) playing the keyboard.

That's all. I made another screenshot with the Snoo vision, it's in the right bottom corner the whole time:

I have that CD/DVD and I've never seen that

I guess I skipped over the HHM video because it's boring and didn't realise this existed.

There's no EP called Know Your Enemy, but there are singles. I'm sure some version of the single has those tracks, so just search eBay or whatever your foreign equivalent is, if you have one, and sift through them until you find the one with those tracks.

There is a Know Your Enemy EP and Single.. two different ones with different tracks on.. Can find the the single version on iTunes but cant find the EP anywhere

Just gotta look on auction sites.

so everyone has heard that the song Jackass is about Blink 182, but is that true or just a rumour?

Never heard that, but it's not true.

Has anyone ever tried to transcribe the lyrics of "What About Today"?

i'm full of Green Day questions that i want answering. sorry everyone for all the stupid questions i post. what is the full setlist of Green Day at woodsrock in 1994? and is there a dvd of all of them?

Posted

Never heard that, but it's not true.

How do you know it's not true then? Green Day had plenty of criticism for those kinds of bands at that time, they usually did it in a jokey way but they made plenty of snide comments. Makes perfect sense for it to be about them, but whether it actually is is another matter.

I've heard that Jackass is about Blink 182 loads of times too but I don't know where that came from, anyone know of any actual quotes from the band to back this up?

Because it doesn't make sense. Like you said, they had plenty of criticism but it was usually in a joking manner. Green Day isn't the kind of band who does that kind of thing.

What's the difference between the two demos of JAR that are four minutes and the regular, two minute one? I can't tell any difference myself.

I've heard that Billie hates the band Nickelback. Does anybody have anything factual to back this up?

I don't think they would now but then was a different matter, I mean Billie wrote Platypus about a real person who was dying of cancer. And nowadays they don't slag off other bands but they used to happily do it all the time, I wouldn't put it past them to sneakily mean the song to be about them. But then again I wouldn't put it past them to jokingly say it was about them in an interview even though it wasn't really about them at all either.

Could be true, could just be a joke, or could be totally made up. Until I see a quote from the band about it I'll stick with the last option though.

It does make sense, Billie writes about his emotions. One day he might have felt strongly about it and it inspired him to write a song. They had no fear in saying things about Blink in interviews. I've heard the rumour before. You might be right but there's no way we can prove it for definite one way or the other.

Well there's this

I doubt he has a serious hatred for them though, just looks like the kind of general dislike that 99% of people have for them.

I'm not sure if I'm remembering this accurately, but I thought I heard Fall Out Boy are huge Green Day fans and they were desperately begging Green Day to let them be an opening band right before the 21st Century Breakdown tour started. First off, does anybody else remember hearing that? And if so, is there anything factual (interviews, quotes) to back that up?

Thanks for the video! I guess I'm part of the 1% who like them

Well they have played Basket Case live, and in this video Pete thanks Green Day cos they "would not be on this stage in the Philippines right now if it wasn't for this band"

So yeah I guess they do like them. As for the opening act thing, I'm not sure.

Platypus was not about someone who was dying it was about a very much healthy magazine editor who bashed Dookie.

Both right, I forget the name but it was about a magazine reviewer who was reportedly very unpopular, and he did actually get diagnosed with cancer. Whether or not he died I'm not sure. Ha Ha You're Dead might be the answer to my query though.

 Oops haha. But yeah it just seems like a jokey having a laugh making fun of them thing, like a lot of people do. Gotta admit he has a point about the voice :D

Platypus was not about someone who was dying it was about a very much healthy magazine editor who bashed Dookie.

The song's widely believed to be about Tim Yohannan, the editor of Maximum Rock 'n' Roll who'd criticized Green Day and who Billie had slagged off many times. He had cancer at the time the song was written and died of it in 1998. Billie's never actually said it was about him but he has said the person it's about died, it seems pretty likely that it's about him.

this question made me giggle.

When Green Day used to play in Berkeley, during the gigs fans would go to this hill and do a lot of shit. (drugs I mean)...

I'm right.. right?
