Ellenkc Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 What does Billie sing at 0:47 in this video? It's irritating me that I can't figure it out The first bit is "She-member," which I'm guessing is Billie attempting harmonies by himself. The second bit sounds like "She was here and was home so long ago," to me, but it could just be gibberish.
solongfromthestars Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Is he really singing, at least?! I mean, it sounds like a kind of mumbling to me. It sounds like "She-member, whatever, she jqdhjqh on, so long ago". And by the "she jqdhjqh on" part I think we have to understand it as "oh shit, I've just fucked up the lyrics". But English is not my mother tongue, so if there's a meaning to that, I have no idea what it is! It's just him messing up the lyrics. To me it sounds like he was going to start a wrong line then he continued on with the right line. Ah okay thanks! The first bit is "She-member," which I'm guessing is Billie attempting harmonies by himself. The second bit sounds like "She was here and was home so long ago," to me, but it could just be gibberish. I thought it sounded something like that, but yeah, it's probably just him messing up the lyrics.
PunkRocks and Coke Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 was the song "Cigarettes and Valentines" going to be on the album?
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 was the song "Cigarettes and Valentines" going to be on the album? Define "the album". On the album Cigarettes and Valentines, I would say so, yes. On American Idiot, no, that would be weird considering they scratched the C&V album and proceeded to make AI instead. On 21st Century Breakdown, no, I don't see why it would. On Awesome as Fuck, it is.
jake smith Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Is it possible to find a copy of the bootleg "live from Gilman Street" to buy or would I have to get it from the audio section of this website?

Kilgores Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 A long time ago I saw this video, but now I saw it gain and I don't really know if it is fake or not? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7F_9ND5SEDQ
Hermione Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 A long time ago I saw this video, but now I saw it gain and I don't really know if it is fake or not? It was made by Sam Bayer (who directed all the American Idiot videos), and it's the same actress who played Whatsername in the Jesus Of Suburbia video. But it was never released as a video for Whatsername - it's just a random piece of film that got leaked somehow. When it was leaked it didn't even have any music on it, someone added it afterwards. So when people say it's a crappy video...........it's not a video , it's probably just one piece of film that Bayer might've used parts of in a video.

Can you give me a date? according to a wesbite I found it's was released in 1994, but as a bootleg so it is quite rare. http://www.worldlingo.com/ma/enwiki/en/Live_at_Gilman_Street

Off-topic: I've been planning to take some live footage of Whatsername and parts of the JoS video (edited, of course) and make that into a "finished" video. according to a wesbite I found it's was released in 1994, but as a bootleg so it is quite rare. http://www.worldlingo.com/ma/enwiki/en/Live_at_Gilman_Street I have a bootleg from 1994 with a track called "Better Not Come Around" but it's more than three tracks and it also has a version of Longview called "Same Old Shit". The lyrics are slightly different ("So don't don't get scary now" "don't be/let me dry(ing) your crying eyes"). Also, I don't think that website is right about the date being 1994 considering they were banned from The Gilman in 1994.
November's Storms Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 ok, so does anyone have a list/know every Green Day album ever released, not liked studio i mean every, including live, and limited, rare everything Green Day Authority Music Section
green day is Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Green Day Authority Music Section *cough*lackinghorribly*cough* They should put me in charge of that section. I would run it good.
jtdscape Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 *cough*lackinghorribly*cough* They should put me in charge of that section. I would run it good. Would you now? May I ask for a suggestion or two?

Better Not Come Around is just an earlier version of When I Come Around before Dookie was released. I'm not sure but I think its from 1992 if the bootleg your talking about is the vinyl called "Live At Gilman St" *cough*lackinghorribly*cough* They should put me in charge of that section. I would run it good. To be honest, I think they have done a wonderful job at doing it, I see nothing wrong with at all.

I'd probably be willing to bet you wouldn't even know how to run that section. Feel free to send us an email (info@greendayauthority.com) with your suggestions, oh humble one.

Feel free to send us an email (info@greendayauthority.com) with your suggestions, oh humble one. True, I don't know how to code and stuff. Would you now? May I ask for a suggestion or two? It's mainly in the "Unreleased/Rare" section. I think it's important that - if you will include some unreleased songs - to include all unreleased songs that we currently know of. Also, you have some random B-sides thrown in there but not all (excluding Shenanigans, of course), which, personally, I think is just disorganized. Question: Was Kerplunk! released immediately on both CD and vinyl or just vinyl for the first release? And if so, did the first release of the CD have the bonus tracks from Sweet Children?

It only launched recently, and definitely still ongoing. Had we waited to release it till we had EVERYTHING...it'd still be under construction.

In my opinion, a completed page is better than a page that's released sooner.

minority_defeats_majority Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Over the years, about how many times has Green Day played live?
