I feel stupid for asking this, but where is that 'its fuck time' song come from?

It's a Foxboro Hot Tubs song :)

there's no studio recording of it

they first played it live in New York on April, 23 this year

most likely yes... but I can't find any picture!

I've seen pictures of Mike smoking , not sure about Tre though

In BIAB, Tre was joking around about smoking pot. So that's one thing. They do/have done drugs, we all know that. As for cigarettes, I've seen Billie light one up in a picture. Not Mike or Tre.

I've seen photos of Tre smoking, but they're old. And if anyone still smokes weed then it's him. Probably on a semi regular basis, too XD

I dont know if either of them do, but I remember in Riding in Vans With Boys, Tre bought a bunch of skull ash holders? Unless they were for decorative purposes I think that means he smokes - or maybe he just bought them for the hell of it :P

Haha, thanks everyone :) . I know Billie smokes, but no one's sure about Mike and Tre it seems

Aww... Thanks... I'm off to YouTube to find it!

Who was the girlfriend (or just a date) that Tré had when they went to opening night of American Idiot? It definitely was not Ruri (she was VJ from MTV Japan) or this new girl we've seen vacationing with him in Italy.

I actually thought it was the same girl he was with in Italy ._.

Hmm, could be. I was just thinking about it lately. And I honestly thought the girl he brought was Asian but with black hair. I haven't seen the picture in a while, so I should go hunt for that.

The bottom comment?

EDIT: I can't find anything else about it anywhere, but my Google Alert for this very occasion brought it to my attention!

I wish this was true but

I'm pretty sure that this is just a random guy that is making something up ..

there are no official announcements about a tour

I wish it was true too :(

I saw it and got really excited and did some searching, but nada.

Maybe he saw the old tour dates or something :(

BAH. I would actually fly out for a FBHT tour.

yeah me too ... I'd go anywhere for a Hot Tubs show

I guess this guy just wanted to be mean..

I don't think there's going to be any FBHT tour soon since Green Day is on tour until the end of October

well, maybe they're gonna play some shows inbetween - you never know when it comes to the Tubbies ;)

I have a picture of Mike holding a cigarette so yes, he smokes. It's a screencap from the making of American Idiot music video, from when Sam Bayer is riding his car and Hitchin a Ride is playing.

I don't know about Tré.

hi, my question is, do the band ever come on GDC and read the forums? :)

the guys are aware of the existence of GDA/GDC but I doubt they log into the forum and read the discussions. They have said several times they try to stay away from the internet.

but then who knows. maybe one of us is Tre Cool in disguise :P

:whistle

didn't anybody from GDC talk to Billie and he said that he sometimes checks out GDA?

I think I can remember something like that

i just thought of another question, will american idiot the musical come out on dvd? i really want to see the performance. does anyone know? :)

Does anyone know the name of the Midnight Oil song that Adrienne played Billie that inspired him to write American Idiot?

I have a question;

so I was watching some videos from various shows of Billie saving kids/random people. I'm curious to know what he exactly tells them while explaining how the whole 'saving' thing works. does anyone know?

I remember watching this video last november from the show at the wembley arena a kid who got on stage recorded in which you could hear Billie explaining the kids what to. I cannot find it anymore. :/

Ok so I always wondered since I first heard WMUWSE......when billie sings "7 years have gone so fast!" and "20 years have gone so fast" what do these amount of years stay for. since he wrote it in 2003 i think ? so this could be for the 20 years but what about those 7 anyone knows what I mean ?

Andres and J'Net met the band when AIOB opened last April. The guys are aware of the site and apparently check it out sometimes, and if I remember correctly I think Jeff Matika said he learned some information through GDA *before* the tour managers he works with got the same info to him. Way cool.

He's got to be telling them where to stand, what he's going to do, what to expect, and what they should do when he pushes their head down (fall on the floor, that is)...remember, when he gives them that little push, the techs light off some really, really loud flash pots at the same time. If I were a 10-year-old kid and I hadn't been told to expect that, it'd scare the living piss outta me.

The thing that amazes me is how good Billie is with the kids who he pulls up on stage for this. He really takes the time to explain what's going on to them and make sure they have a good time while they're up there. :)

yeah, he really is. :) you can tell he really likes kids and playing with them (in a non-pervrted way, that is haha).

i wish we could know the exact words. idk why, i think it'd be cute haha

I'm not sure exactly when WMU... was written, but I'm positive it was before 2003, it was not written specifically for AI. Billie wrote it sometime before then about his dad's passing away when he was just 10 years old. It's also written from at least two perspectives, one from the perspective of the growing child reflecting on the loss of his parent, and from a mournful, reminiscing perspective of the same child, now an adult and a parent of his own kids, expressing wonderment at the passage of time Edit: and the loss of other father-figure role models along the way.[/edit]

So I wonder if Billie originally wrote it (or maybe a part of it?) when he was about 17 years old, which would have been around 1988 or so... at that time 7 years had passed since his dad's death. Then, fast-forward another 10 years (total of 20 years since his father died), that puts us around 1998 when Jakob, his second child, was born. Also a few interesting dates -- Andy Armstrong (Billie's father) died on September 10, 1981 ("September 10" is the date of the AI CD lyric book's journal entry for WMUWSE). September 12, 1998 is Jakob's birthday. Everyone knows what happened on September 11. Two instances of massive pain, plus one instance that is (speaking as a father of my own little one) both exhilarating and scary as hell at the same time, all occurring days apart in the same month, separated only by the passage of time.

Against this background I think WMUWSE is a song that marks these types of major life events, expressing both awe and sadness at how quickly the time between them passes. Time, life, events both positive and negative all fly past more and more quickly the older you get, and sometimes you just want it to stop for awhile so you can catch up. "Wake me up when it's all over".
