I was wondering if you guys knew if there's any Green Day memorabilia in some Hard Rock Café?

Quoting myself, cause I can answer myself! (And for anyone who cares about this ) From what I found out online, there's a Les Paul Studio, signed by all three guys on Hard Rock Cafe in Buenos Aires. It has some Pepsi stickers on it, which means it's memorabilia from their Rocktober show in BA. It's kind of funny that the guitar they gave it's a LP Studio, cause Billie never played one on this tour (much less in the SA leg), so now I'm wondering if he just randomly gave one of the many, many that he owns or if they got one specially to donate

But still. Finally we know of the existance of recent memorabilia

In the HRC website, it says that "Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt brutalized this P-bass and then donated to the Hard Rock in Tokyo", and there's a picture of the bass next to it. But above this article it says that the bass in is in the HRC in Berlin

Also, there's a guitar signed by all three members of Green Day, but the website says that the guitar is now in the Warehouse -.-' WTF! I'd pay a fortune for that piece of wood! I hope that they will place it in the new HRC in Glyfada *fingers crossed* :)

Just curious, when was Green Day's first live show and when?

I think their first official show was May 28, 1989 at Gilman. It was Operation Ivy's farewell show and Green Day opened for them.

Wasn't it something like in 1987 in Rod's Hickory Pit? Not sure of the exact year (let alone date), haha, but I thought that was their first show...

They did, but at that point they were still Sweet Children. So either one of those shows could be their first, depending on how you look at it.

Ahh, k, that way.

Yeah do you mean Green Day or Sweet Children? Or the band with Tré or Al Sobrante? Decisions decisions!

so i've read in Nobody Likes You that Sweet Children EP was released in 1988. so it was really the band's very first EP? but then they weren't yet called Green Day, right? so 1000 Hours (1989) was really the first Green Day EP?

"Fuck it, we're gonna play all night long! I'm not going to work tomorrow, i'm not going to school. There is no work! And no school either, fuck school! Except for you, Joseph Armstrong!"

When was this said?

Anybody know how Mike and Brittney met?

Sweet Children with Al Sobrante.

17.10.1987, Rod's Hickory Pit, Vallejo, CA, USA.

Some of the songs they played were:

Crazy Train (Ozzy Osbourne cover)

Best Thing In Town

1000 Hours

Dry Ice

My Generation (The Who cover)

The quote is actually a bit different but he said this at the start of Longview in Fox Theater

^ Thanks for that! I just spent ages trying to find it and failed.

Anybody know how Mike and Brittney met?

They met when he went to a fancy sushi restaurant in L.A. and she was working as a hostess there. They became friends and eventually dated. There's a little "Couple Profile" here on the right hand side if you scroll down:

I know the website is trash , but the info is legit, I've seen the same thing from reliable sources too.

and... I started stalking in the whodateswho site, and it says that Mike had a relationship with Amy Lee on 2001... WTF?

EDIT: nevermind, there it says that they didn't date, but they can't delete it. That's what I get from those sites xD

Hi i just want to know if there's a video of Billie Joe taking off his nose ring? well actually which one is the true story about his nose ring? i've heard lots of them

Posted

how many replicas of Blue are there?

Posted

Quite a few times on here (GDC) I've read that Billie Joe's voice sounds over produced on 21CB, and I was wondering what that meant?

there are effects added to his voice, so it sounds less natural. like there are really these echo that are shadowing his vocals in most of the tracks. i.e. last night on earth. also, in some there are like 2 billies singing at the same time, or there are these megaphone effect.

I know when he had them all made he smashed and gave away all of them (I'm pretty sure it was all of them) and he started using the original again but since than the only replica thats known is the one he used of the South America tour.

I was listening to Desensitized today, and I was wondering where the beginning screaming/crashing noise came from? I thought I read somewhere that Mike was having a panic attack or something, but I really don't get why they would record that.

Sweet, thanks :)

So not overproducing would just be his normal voice then? (that's a bad sentence, but I'm too tired to phrase it correctly, haha)

What kind of story are you thinking about? First he had a nose ring, then he took it out (because it got stuck in clothes etc)... not much of a story in there.

As far as I know there's no video.

I don't know the exact story, but it is Mike. In the Nimrod credits Mike is listed for baseball bat. I personally don't think it was Mike having a panic attack (why/how would you even record that), but I don't know.

I've seen an interview where Billie is saying that it got caught on his t-shirt while he was playing guitar, so they had to take it out to unhook his shirt, and he never put it back in after that

I don't know where I saw the interview though, maybe the Idiot Club?

Yeah lol pretty sure he was just smashing some stuff up with it and shouting to make a cool sounding intro for the song. Maybe it got described somewhere as sounding like a panic attack? It'd be quite an accurate way to describe it.
