BombingwithBillieJoe Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 You mean this? Picture #14 scares the crap out of me. I'm not afraid of heights, but I am afraid of people being perilously close to the edge of things that weren't meant to be jumped/fallen off of, haha.

Hahaha yeah I'm like 90% sure there is a buffer between Tre and the actual edge but still it freaks me out too.
darenmay Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 the letters/lyrics in AI booklet (except whatsername's), are they billie's handwriting? did billie write them?
minorty13 Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 the letters/lyrics in AI booklet (except whatsername's), are they billie's handwriting? did billie write them? I heard that he did not.. I don't have any source or citation for that though PS: I like your avatar/sig
PunkRocks and Coke Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 does anyone know how old Tre was when he moved to America?
B.Good Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 does anyone know how old Tre was when he moved to America? I think i remember it being 1 but I don't know exactly.
NothingButYourImagination Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Were the guys drunk when they recorded Stop, Drop, and Roll! or were they when they wrote the songs for it or what?
November's Storms Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 In Westbound Sign there's a line "xanex, a beer for thought and shes determined" What is xanex?
Velocity Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 In Westbound Sign there's a line "xanex, a beer for thought and shes determined" What is xanex? I think it's an anti-anxiety drug.
BombingwithBillieJoe Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Quite a few times on here (GDC) I've read that Billie Joe's voice sounds over produced on 21CB, and I was wondering what that meant?
jenni Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 the letters/lyrics in AI booklet (except whatsername's), are they billie's handwriting? did billie write them? This question was already asked a few pages before. And the answer can be found at the bottom of this page
Vaso.Of.Suburbia Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Did Tre's parents divorce? We all know many things about his dad but nothing about his mother.... Did they left Germany because of that?
November's Storms Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Quite a few times on here (GDC) I've read that Billie Joe's voice sounds over produced on 21CB, and I was wondering what that meant? I'm no expert on sound production, but it means they took the recording of his vocals and made it more polished, a cleaner sound, getting rid of any imperfections. Compare his vocals on 21stCB to the early stuff and you'll hear its much cleaner and direct. Don't know if that makes any sense!
Ellenkc Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Were the guys drunk when they recorded Stop, Drop, and Roll! or were they when they wrote the songs for it or what? They were drunk when they wrote the songs and probably when they demoed them, but I'd say they were sober - or at least sober-ish - when they did the final recording. Did Tre's parents divorce? We all know many things about his dad but nothing about his mother.... Did they left Germany because of that? No his parents aren't divorced, Tre just doesn't talk about his family much although here was an interview back during AI where he was saying that his mom started crying when he played her the WMUWSE video, so she's definitely still around anyway. His dad gets mentioned more because he was involved in early tours, but his mother wasn't as far as I know. I'd say Tre's the most private out of the band.
Tomcat20 Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 I'd like to know why they didn't use the catwalk for the South American Tour.
newsflash777 Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Another interesting tidbit in this book is that Billie was so moved by Bilheimer's design of the hand grasping the heart grenade that he had to go back and change the lyrics in She's A Rebel to reflect that. Yeah, I've always wondered about that!
November's Storms Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 I'd say Tre's the most private out of the band. Thats interesting cos Tre was meant to have the most "normal" childhood of the three
B.Good Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 In Westbound Sign there's a line "xanex, a beer for thought and shes determined" What is xanex? Xanex is an anti-anxiety medication used to treat people with panic attacks, panic disorders and anxiety disorders. Its a fast-acting drug that basically chills you out if you are getting too anxious or are having a panic attack. Drugs like Xanex (Anxiety/Panic Attacks), Prozac (Depression) and Ritalin (ADHD) have become fairly well-know American pop-culture references and show up in a lot of songs. I'd like to know why they didn't use the catwalk for the South American Tour. I would have probably been a pain to fly down to South America but a bunch of shows in the North American Tour didn't have them either. I know the one I went to in Mansfield, MA didn't have one.
Ellenkc Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 I'd like to know why they didn't use the catwalk for the South American Tour. I don't think they used it for the North American shows either. I guess for South America they cut down on stage equipment to carry around because they needed to fly everywhere, they didn't bring the LED screens either.
B.Good Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Quite a few times on here (GDC) I've read that Billie Joe's voice sounds over produced on 21CB, and I was wondering what that meant? Over-produced just means that they mess with the vocals a bit. So, instead of just recording Billie's vocals straight from the mic and leaving them as is, they'll digitally mess with them before they put it with the rest of the track. Over-produced songs come off as a bit un-natural.
Ellenkc Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Thats interesting cos Tre was meant to have the most "normal" childhood of the three I dunno I'd say he had the most 'abnormal' childhood. Mike and Billie's parents split up/passed away but other than that they had a pretty normal lower middle-class childhood. Tre lived in the mountains without light, heat, electricity or windows. He went to some hippie school, his nearest neighbour lived about a mile away and his dad has post traumatic stress disorder. He is very private do, if you look at something like Riding In Vans With Boys, aside from on stage Tre only shows up once or twice messing around in the background and Mike and Billie are around the camera a lot.
