Green Day Question and Answer Thread

the pit tickets I bought through the IC link fro Wembley stadium weren't even posted out like they were supposed to be - we had to pick them up the day of the concert.

The best thing the IC did for me this year was early entry in Europe - I won it twice. But apart from that, it's crap.

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous for 20 bucks a year with the quality of it.

The IC hasn't even done anything decent while the band's had an album out, not one video or chance to ask the band questions or anything. So I don't think there's any hope for anything worth paying for now . Tbh Green Day should be embarrassed that they have an official fan club that rips off their fans and that they themselves do literally nothing for.

Hmm, I only benefited from the IC once when I got seats through the presale (which were really good seats - but it was just "if you're a member, you can buy your tickets a couple of days before the rest of the world", the IC didn't have any specific seats). Also, that was for the show in Paris, which I only got to go to because of a lucky situation for me - if I had only gone to the shows remotely close to me, I wouldn't have had any benefit whatsoever from the IC. And as for the contest, I think that in a year there was only one, maaaaybe two contests I could actually participate in - the rest was US only. I third the "do not join". Especially since you're from Hungary. All the benefits from the IC go to big places in the world.

do they read twitts, that fans post on their twitter?

I really doubt it. The band doesn't actively use it and Billie was just using Twitter as a way to tell fans what they were up to, not to reply to them.

Also, they would have to spend 24/7 reading tweets if they did that, haha.

I don't know how the IC hasn't gotten into trouble yet for blatantly false advertising.

Their braincells would all keel over and die if they read some of those tweets, holy shit.

I've never wanted to join the Idiot Club. I mean, it's nice to get presale tickets, but other than that, I don't need it. I have GDC :D

Sometimes it's worth joining if Green Day are touring so you can get presale tickets and early entry to shows

We've done well with the IC presales for bowl seats for the 3 concerts we've seen over the past two years. Also if you're jonesing for a spot in the pit you can't beat the presales as being one of the best ways (if not *the* best way) to get a face-value pit ticket. Most recently they've blocked out four front-row-center-orchestra seats for every AI show between now and whenever it's going to close, so if you're going to the show and are able to pay mid-grade pricing (~$120) for a seat, you can literally get yourself a front row seat that would cost you double going direct through Telecharge. These are where the real value-adds are; beyond that I agree they don't do anywhere near as much as GDC does in terms of connecting fans with each other and the band.

I rarely pay for anything on the internet, there is always a free version of it somewhere. GDC > IC

The band themselves pronounce it like GREEN Day, I think that's the way it's supposed to be pronounced. It's how I always say it anyway.

ok thx :D

Is there any way I can get hold of or listen to the leaked versions of 21st Century Breakdown? Back when 21CB a piano intro or something. I didn't listen to them at the time because I was saving myself for when the album came out, but now I want to hear how different they were from the album versions :)

I've tried youtube but they aren't there =/

it's on youtube:

What was "stuck with me" originaly supposed to be called?

What was "stuck with me" originaly supposed to be called?

I'm not sure it even had a name, but I do know they wrongly titled it 'Stuck With Me', hence the origina'l 'stuck with me' that's on Shenanigans is now called Do Da Da

But the band just went with 'Stuck With Me' in the end.

It's not the first time a song name has been stuffed up. One For The Razorbacks was supposed to be One For The Razorback, but there was a typo.

Yes thats what i said too. But some people are claiming that Stuck With Me was originally called Do Da Da, but it's opposite right? And it made me realize i never knew what Stuck With Me's original name was.

I think they had named now-Stuck With Me, then Do Da Da because they couldn't think of a name for it and it had to have *some* sort of name so they named it Do Da Da for lack of a proper name, and then the names from the Do Da Da and Stuck With Me got swapped and yadda yadda, you know that part.

But I don't know if Stuck With Me was officially named Do Da Da or whether that was just some sort of working title.

Really? Cause i understood it as if Do Da Da was a name that appeared after the mixup. Do you have a source or anything, cause i'd hate to be wrong now that i kind of started an argument about it

Haha, I wouldn't say it's an argument, more of a conversation to find out what exactly happened with those songs or something

I think I read it on GDA... but now that it's renewed, I can't find it anymore. I think it was in the Didja Know or Random Facts part, but that's gone now :pinch:

(some time searching around has passed)

Welll never mind, I was wrong.

When Green Day was recording songs for Insomniac, they were trying to think of an appropriate name for the song Stuck With Me. The band recorded the song now called "Do Da Da" around the same time, and that song was originally called "Stuck With Me", because those words actually appear in that song. But, there was a studio mix-up, and someone labeled the third track on Insomniac "Stuck With Me". When the band discovered the error, they felt the name was appropriate for the song and kept it. Later, they decided to release the real "Stuck With Me" as a b-side, so they gave it the nonsensical name "Do Da Da".

here

I guess I just remembered it wrong. Sorry any the confusion I caused!

I found a mp3 in my pendrive, called "unknown track 1", and it says it's a Green Day song from Live at Berkeley Square 7/22/89, and it's called "Jennifer". Any clue if it's legit? ._. The voice does sound a lot like Billie, but not sure about the rest =/

EDIT: There's another one called "What about today" and a third called "Always forever".

Okay thanks :) No problem. And i didn't mean argument with you guys, but argument with the people i was referring to earlier

So the answer is still unknown?

You see the real reason all of this came up was because the norwegian fanpage on facebook has a christmas quiz with a trivia question every day. And today it was "What was stuck with me originally called?", and a buch of people answerded Do Da Da.

But I guess it's just a sucky question because nobody really knows the answer. And that really dissapoints me when it's from the official norwegian fanpage.

I have three unknown songs, those are live versions of one of the very early shows Green Day played. The second unknown song is the "World vs World" or whatever that song is called.. a short clip of it is played in that VH1 drive documentary.

I have never heard about "Jennifer" though! "Always forever" isn't something I heard before either. What about today is on Youtube.. although I'm not sure which song it is. A while ago I found a vid on YT called What about today, and it sounded like the network. So I have no idea. Can you post a link to the songs? Now I'm curious what they sound like :)

Yep, that's Green Day. It was a radio show I think, of some sort, and they played three songs that are known under those names (but I don't think it's confirmed that they are actually named that. What About Today is also known as World vs. World).

I don't know if you have the same tracks, but I have them as well and all of them have other random noises in the end, which is random guitar noises and clearly Mike and Billie talking. So, yes, that's definitely real.

Yeah, that's just s sucky question, I guess. It's something that's not really known (because "they were trying to think of a title" doesn't mean they couldn't have already had Do Da Da or some other title as temporary title), so there isn't really an answer that's definitely wrong or right.

Nooooo not that again

There are two songs people can refer to with What About Today. One that's supposedly (no confirmation or source whatsoever) from Cigs&Valentines, which is what you're referring to as sounding like the Network, and one is the one played in some documentary where Billie plays it at his old high school (and also the track she was referring to, same song).
