HeißblütigerPinguin Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 no why? I think Bullet in a Bible is good, only the black & white parts are a bit annoying and zooming in and zooming out and the fading in and fading out etc. etc. It's not a concert movie, it's Sam Bayer showing off. I really don't think it was well directed. Plus, you can't skip the backstage scenes, after watching it three times, I don't want to watch the interviews again, just the concert. Ahhh yes. I'm not alone. No, you're not(, we're partners in crime ). And John Roecker apperently isn't either. He posted a status on facebook how he hated it, because it was a shit DVD and, on top of it, delayed the release of HLAHG. No, I loved it as well --- And I seriously don't understand all the hate Same Bayer gets from Green Day fans, because pretty much all of his work is fucking stellar. It's not hate, I actually enjoy BOBD and Holiday music video, just BIAB is fucked up, I just think in it you can see his arrogance.
Mato Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 What type of guitar use Billie in LOTAG's and KYE's music videos? I know they are les pauls but which? Les Paul Junior What is the model / name / brand of the guitar Billie Joe is using in the pic ? That is the grammy award preformance with the AI cast. THANKS It's a Gibson J-180 Acoustic ---------- btw. Bullet In A Bible is a masteriece
call_debbie Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Les Paul Junior It's a Gibson J-180 Acoustic ---------- btw. Bullet In A Bible is a masteriece thanks so much !!! yes Bullet In A Bible is a masterpiece And I am sure Green Day will create more masterpiece to the world
LetItBeHappy Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 BIAB is a good DVD, but not as great as it should. I hate the fact that Sam can NEVER get Billie's face right in the first shot of the interviews And I don't remember which song was, but you can see bits of a different song there
Ellenkc Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I really like BIAB, I love how it's not like your average concert dvd. I think Sam made it into more of a movie about the concert rather than a recording of the concert, if that makes any sense. I do agree with the whole 'feeling his arrogance' do He loves himself and it comes across in the movie really clearly but it doesn't really bother me too much.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I don't know what to think of Sam Bayer. I love the American Idiot, Holiday and BOBD videos, September is one big mistake, only the Green Day parts are nice, and on JOS I still haven't made up my mind. It's a cool video, for sure, but it doesn't reflect the meaning and hugeness of the song. Although I suppose that if you did make a video that has that (which would be really really hard), it might not work. And BIAB... the part about him filming it is just 'no go away you're arrogant', and I don't like that you can't skip the interviews, but for the rest, I really like it. It's, like Ellen said, not just a recording or video from the concert, it's a movie. I like the b/w effects and the zooming and stuff (although sometimes it gets a little too much). It's only boring because it's unfinished, though --- I guess you could say I can kinda see past the unfinished part of it. Surely you can see how much potential it's got! Plus, she's gorgeous as fuck, sooo ... That said, I have decided you guys are just jelly 'cause Whatsername's so pretty. Just curious, why do you like it? I suppose that if you somehow invision a finished product with parts of this in it, it could be good, because showing parts of it could be quite cool, for lack of a better word, but still. I don't get the drunk kinda slutty girl swaying about. It's not really got much to do with Whatsername, both the song and the character (of course you don't know what happens to her after she leaves, but this sure isn't what *I* had in mind).
Blood Sam and Booze Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Keep in mind Green Day also let Samuel produce and create BIAB. But a highlight... it was nice to see another side of Green Day. True, there was an overabundance of close up's and unsteadiness, but if you try to ignore that and focus on the additional detail it provided, it was a fun watch.
Rancid punk:LTD Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 what kind of bill larence pickup did Billie have in Blue back in the 90's?

-Billiejoezee- Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Am I the only one who loves Bullet in a Bible, interviews, behind-the-scenes, black & white shots, slow-motion, and everything else? I could kiss the DVD.
Mommy's Little Nightmare Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Am I the only one who loves Bullet in a Bible, interviews, behind-the-scenes, black & white shots, slow-motion, and everything else? I love the shit out of BIAB, but there are some parts that really grate me. Like Sam clearly rehearsed them. Like Billie standing there knocking on the bomb before Holiday. That irked the hell out of me.

Hermione Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I love the shit out of BIAB, but there are some parts that really grate me. Like Sam clearly rehearsed them. Like Billie standing there knocking on the bomb before Holiday. That irked the hell out of me. Oh my god this With BIAB I like the content but dislike the way it's put together. It's easy to ignore the annoying aspects of how it was directed and enjoy the band performing, talking and playing around very much
Zalex Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I think Sam Bayer is conceited as fuck, but a lot of artists are. I think he did a good job with it. I really like all the quick shot changes and the aerials and bits in black and white.
pasalaska Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I really do love the way the footage of BIAB is cut but I wish there was the option to watch just the concert footage without the talking bits.
Vaso.Of.Suburbia Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I was wondering if you guys knew if there's any Green Day memorabilia in some Hard Rock Café? I just found that picture But I don't know how old it is....
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I just found that picture http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_rkqRbyMcp9I/Rnn4hy-Ch3I/AAAAAAAAABo/fGNyQeh8g7s/s400/GrnDaySigSer_DT1.jpg But I don't know how old it is.... I'm pretty sure that that's a shirt you could buy (in the HRC's, I suppose), not something "hanging on the wall"/memorabilia (is there a singular form of that word?). At Pinkpop there were two German girls in front of us who were wearing those shirts.
Nzap Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I received a book called "Green Day: american idiots & the new punk explosion" by Ben Myers Does anyone know if this is any good?
EvanAsFuck Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I received a book called "Green Day: american idiots & the new punk explosion" by Ben Myers Does anyone know if this is any good? I have that book and yes it's pretty good! Although the best Green Day book in my opinion is Nobody Likes You: Inside the Turbulent Life, Times, and Music of Green Day
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 A while ago I posted something in here about fame.nl having something called "Green Day - Around the World" up for release on the 19th. A couple of days ago I got an answer on what it is, or rather, what it isn't. I always forget to check my email, so sorry for the delay, haha. Met vriendelijke groet, Wulfien Kaatee FAME What it says it that she has no idea how that info got there and that, as far as she knows, there is no new release. So idk where it came from, but Green Day - Around The World doesn't exist xD
